Manager and staff were friendly and helpful when a flat tire threatened to derail a business trip and my surrounding schedule. Had the car towed there and they kept it closed up for the evening. While I traveled the next day they procured and put on the new tire. When my plane landed back in town a bit late, they waited for me about 10 minutes past closing time to ensure I could get my car back that day. A couple of years ago, the manager had gone above and beyond and I had become a loyal customer. But this past year has been very poor indeed. I had taken it in to have my brakes checked. They said it didn't need a brake change. (Something is still wrong because it squeals and something feels off.) They told me someone would bring it around. Thirty minutes later, I walked in back and asked again for my vehicle. I was driving to Texas a few days later and someone waived me down to tell me that one of my tires was wobbling badly. They hadn't tightened the lug nuts properly. Recently, I went in for an oil change. I then drove to my brother's house in Georgia for the holidays. He took off the plate that sits over the oil filter and told me that they didn't change the oil filter. When I told someone at Express about it, he all but called me a liar. Extremely disappointed in the service my wife received here. She brought her car in because of low tire pressure, and instead of thoroughly checking the tires, they just added air and sent her on her way. No inspection, no real diagnosis. A few days later, we discovered two nails, one in the back passenger tire and the front drivers side tire--something that should've been caught during a proper inspection. This kind of negligence is unacceptable, especially when it involves something as critical as tire safety. If you're going to a place called "Tire Engineers," you expect them to at least look for punctures when a tire keeps losing air. Won't be coming back, and I wouldn't recommend this location to anyone who values thorough, responsible service. read more

Needing a vehicle inspection, I sat in a disorganized and growing line at another place about 10 minutes away for about 15 minutes and never moved (some cut the line as well as they had us move because of congestion), so a search led me here. After about a five minute wait, I was in and out in 15 minutes. Staff was friendly and professional. They offered free coffee and bottled water. I watched them explain in detail another customer's situation, and they were great and broke it down for her. I know where I'll come from now in. We came in on a Saturday morning. We didn't have to wait. The guy was very friendly. They moved super fast. I would come here again.

Ahhhh the dreaded state vehicle inspections - required for all registered Louisiana vehicles. They do them here! During peak times, the line could be long... be prepared to wait 30-45 minutes. You line-up to the left of the building (stay in your car) and wait for an attendant to let you know it's your turn. Wait inside (in their waiting room), while your inspection is happening. They have complimentary water, seating and a restroom. It doesn't take much time at all, if your car is in tip-top shape. We take all of our cars here. It's super convenient to home and the customer servicer is stellar. Easily access them off Perkins by Essen (next door to Race Trac). Pay the inspection in cash and you are good to go until next year! If you need other car services, be sure to check what's on their menu of things they take care of for your car. This place gets really busy. Over the last couple of years it seemed at least reliable even though slow. This year it seem to take forever and then came out and told me that my vehicle failed because they could not read the OBDII. I took it to my mechanic and they were able to read the code immediately and found no problems. I wonder if they even tried a different cable or computer. They seemed exceptionally slow this day and I wonder if they had problems with other vehicles too. I wouldn't recommend to go there. Thanks for the reach out to discuss the service experience. I tried to use the "contact" area of your company website and did not find a way to connect there via email, only via phone. Is that my only choice? As a follow up, I took my vehicle (the next day) into my normal mechanic and they found no problem with reading my vehicle computer OBDII port. I went to another inspection competitor and sailed through the inspection in about 10 minutes. My wait time at Express Oil that morning, leading to the failure was about 2 hours. We also noted that the failure sticker was not filled out correctly with the fail date and would have put us at risk of being late on a retest. read more

THEY ARE SCAMMERS!!!!! I had a nail in my tire, and I figured it was patchable, so I brought it here. The first mechanic told me it looked patchable, and I wouldn't need a new tire. When it was brought to the back for inspection, they showed me the nail and told me it was not repairable. I decided to try an entirely different shop because I was skeptical of the Express' mechanic's opinion. Turns out my tire was TOTALLY PATCHABLE! I ended up paying a couple dollars for a patch instead of a brand new tire the Express Mechanic thought I needed. I'm very upset they tried to scam me. Please be aware!! read more

After being discharged from the hospital, my fiancé realized our vehicle needed a new inspection sticker. We pulled into the express oil change facility. I was escorted out the vehicle into the air-conditioning building by my fiancé. We both sat down for a second until we realize no one had come to assist us. My fiancé got up and walked outside to have a talk with one of the employees. He was very nice and started assisting us. All of a sudden we heard one of the other employees (Bradford Lee) yelling from the back of the garage, "can't you read did you not see a sign outside of the building?" We were shocked and once we realized he was talking to us, my fiancé responded, "who are you talking to?" Bradford Lee(employee) responded saying, "I am talking to you!" My fiancé became very upset and felt disrespected. Then things escalated verbally between Bradford and my fiancé'. With Bradford swearing saying things like , "he'll kick my fiancés ass, many racial slurs and he doesn't need our fuc%*#* business, he can talk any way he effin choses, blacks are more racist than whites!" Another employee indicated to us that he's witnessed him doing that to other customers before. We have been valued customers at this establishment for quite some time and have never been treated this way. This employee should be fired immediately! I've had two experiences with this auto repair shop since yesterday- first was a drag, leaving without fulfilling the purpose for my visit; second was satisfactory, even though the wait was lengthier than I had expected. I originally came through the station because I was given a tip that they are licensed to provide vehicles with state inspection stickers. However, I went mid-day, which was probably not the best idea, since I waited in line for nearly an hour. Due to other obligations, I had to exit the line and went back for the inspection sticker today. Today's visit wasn't near as frustrating because I made sure to give myself extra time to have the service completed. While I was there, I thought it best that I got an oil change and air put in my tires. The entire visit lasted about 45 minutes... so it definitely wasn't an "express" auto fix, but I did add other maintenance requests to my order and expected an added wait. Overall, I was satisfied with the operations and price from my visit. The workers were very courteous and apologized for my wait, making me realize that it wasn't a fault solely on their part. If I could make one suggestion, I'd say to hire more engineers to ensure they can get the job done for their customers in a timely fashion! read more

Not a fan. The Express 10 minute oil change took me over an hour. There were two of us waiting. The guy in front of me went through first. One of the workers asked me to back out so the girl next to me could get her oil changed first since she was there before me, which I found rather odd. I then waited 30 minutes for an inspection, which was supposed to be only a 20 minute wait. They said their machine was running slow. All together it took an hour & 15 minutes. The only plus was that the workers were friendly, & they offer an indoor waiting area with free water bottles. However, I surely won't be coming back to this spot. read more

I drive a 2005 Lexus ES 330. I went in for a simple tire rotation and oil change. After they were "done" and I was about a mile out, thinking everything was fine, I suddenly heard a loud pop and briefly lost control of the car. After pulling over into a parking lot, I discovered that the lug nuts on the front right passenger tire were not properly torqued. I could turn the steering wheel about 45 degrees and only see minimal movement from the tires. This obviously caused the front passenger tire to wobble like crazy while driving back to the place. Well, they attempted to, but it happened AGAIN when I left. Same conditions, lost control of the car, little throughput from the steering wheel to the tires, and wobbling. This time, we discovered that the wobbling also damaged the rim. It had made on the holes oblong. This time, trying to make sure they torque everything down probably, OVER TORQUE one of the wheel studs on the front passenger and actually caused the bolt to SHEER. However, all of this caused some imbalance and I started the notice the steering wheel vibrating at 65 to 70 mph. I decided to wait for my replacement rim to come in before getting it balance, since it would require it anyway. A week later, my replacement rim came in. (P.S. The replacement rim they got me was not close to the same condition as my other rims, it looked dirty and partly rusted near the lug nuts). They said they would balance the wheel and the whole problem would go away. It would be simple, right? Nope, even after the balance, I still noticed the steering wheel vibrating from time to time. I eventually got fed up with their inability to do simple automotive repairs and took the car to the Lexus dealership where the issue eventually got fixed there. I would recommend going anywhere else. I took my vehicle here for an oil change. Immediately upon leaving, both my oil pressure light and check engine light were on. I brought it back for a diagnostic where they told me I had broken parts that would need to be fixed totaling about $1,100. Due to the poor customer service of the manager, Jon Bush, I decided to take my vehicle for a second opinion somewhere else. At the dealership I took it to, they found the only thing wrong with my vehicle was that the incorrect oil filter was put in during my oil change. This was a quick and easy fix that Express Oil failed to fix after they had done it incorrectly. Please save your time and money and go elsewhere. read more

I went here for an oil change today and was immediately greeted by one of the employees. He was very friendly, making small talk and offered me coffee. The whole experience was very quick, fitting into the 10 minute time frame I was given. They washed my front window and checked my lights, blinkers, and horn. I was given $5 off for being a new customer and was also given a coupon booklet for future visits. I drive a Toyota Corolla and my total cost was $63. It seemed a bit pricey at first but I had great service and the employees were obviously experienced and attentive to my needs and requests. I will be returning for my next service. read more

This review is a novel, but it has a happy ending so READ IT... I was recommended Express Oil Change (SPECIFICALLY MR. DANNY!) on Perkins by an employee at Advance Auto Parts. After reading other reviews on Yelp about their repair shop, I was hesitant, but I am SO GLAD that I went here! My 2008 Honda Cr-V had been making a strange clunking sound in the front end for quite some time and as time progressed the sound became significantly louder. I decided to do some research on my own before I brought it to a mechanic because as a young female college student, I have had my fair share of mechanics trying to rip me off because they automatically assume I am naive and will pay whatever the cost to repair my vehicle... After reading several forums, and watching lots of videos on youtube, I had narrowed down the potential problems. It was either my sway/ stabilizer bar, bc I had eliminated it being my struts or shocks. I had to get my front breaks done, so I asked the mechanic at A DIFFERENT auto repair shop for a quote on what he thought might be the cause for the sound. He quoted me OVER $900 and told me I needed new struts! I was certain that I did not need new struts, so I thanked him for the quote, for changing my brake pads and went on my way! I decided to go to the Advance Auto Parts on Siegen to see how much the sway bars would cost and to get their opinion on how difficult they are to change. Their employee recommended that I go get the front end of my car greased to see if that would solve the problem, but if that did not work that I should talk to Mr. Danny at Express Oil Change on Perkins. I had a grease job, but to no avail there was still a clunking sound; Express Oil Change had already closed for the day, so I called the next day and spoke to Mr. Danny on the phone about my situation. He told me to come by later that day once I finished my final exam and he would take a look at it for me. Unfortunately, by the time I made it to their shop he already had three other vehicles in front of me. He asked if I could first thing in the morning and I let him know that I would be there! Fast forward to this morning, I was at Express Oil Change 10 minutes before they opened and Mr. Danny was there to help! He took my vehicle for a drive to hear the sound for himself, returned back to the shop quickly and lifted it up to get a look under it to confirm what he suspected as the issue. After a short period of time, he brought me back to personally show me exactly what the problem was. He confirmed that it was indeed the Sway Bar just as I had thought! Mr. Danny took the time to show me exactly where the bars were broken, explained exactly how the sway bars worked and why they were making that sound... He let me know how much it would cost to replace them, had already confirmed with Napa that he could get the parts within 15 minutes and have me on my way in no time! I was ready for that annoying sound to stop so I let him know to go ahead and order the parts. By 10 AM I was on my way home, cruising over the constant Louisiana pot holes without A SOUND! I cannot say enough positive things about Mr. Danny and Express Oil Change on Perkins. In all the times that I have brought my vehicle to get repair, whether at a dealership or another repair shop, I have never had someone take so much time to explain exactly what was wrong. He is definitely one of very few good mechanics; knowledgable, honest, and not just out to make an extra buck off of unsuspecting folks. This first time and wonderful service that I received this morning has made me into a lifelong customer (or until Mr. Danny retires) customer of Express Oil Change. I've already referred my boyfriend and two of my friends to bring their vehicles here bc I was just that impressed! I have always spoke very highly of this place and was a repeat customer. I brought my vehicle there to get repaired and it had to stay overnight to wait for a part. The staff has always been friendly and great and I never doubted them until I got in my car this evening and noticed that my apple iphone charger was gone. And not only was it gone but it was replaced with a broken cheap knockoff brand. I called to ask about it and of course everyone played dumb. Do not go to this place if you want to keep everything you had in your car. Sure it may be something small, but to go as far as to switch it out and hope I don't notice is just wrong. I stopped by here to get my inspection sticker renewed. There's only 1 guy that can do it apparently and he was currently servicing another car for the same thing. The other technicians informed me that it would be about 45 minutes for him to finish that car and 45 minutes to complete mine. I asked why the long time and they informed me that the technician had to put in wires into my car to run tests. I left and tried another service center located close by on Essen, Rapid Lube. They had me taken care of in 5 minutes. I wonder if Express was running "tests" to try to get me to purchase unnecessary things? Express seemed fishy and not very friendly. Service were great until I notice my car were not running properly. I went in for an oil changed and upon driving I notice my car were making a loud unusual noise. I was not able to move my vehicle until someone had to take a look at it. The results of the loud noise were a tool that the technician had left on my pulley. I contact the store (Express Oil) to explain what the problem were and he stated if your car is running just don't worry about it. He also stated to return the tool. That was not a way to handle a customer, I paid them to do the work and every person should look behind there work upon completion. Would not recommend coming here for tire service. Came in for an oil change and I decided to purchase two new tires after a pushy technician told me I needed them. After leaving I noticed that they were rubbing against the sides of the tire well. Fast forward -- front and rear tires are two different sizes on my car and they had the whole thing backwards. Damage done to both the tire well as well as tires. These guys should not be trusted with tires and I will not be back. read more

I had the BEST experience here today! Nothing out of the ordinary, but I felt like a human rather than a pocketbook... The men working on my car were extremely personable and very nice. I called prior to showing up for my oil change at around 5:45 (they close at 6) and they got me in and out without making me feel like I caused them some great inconvenience by asking them to stay a little later. It took about 15-20 minutes for them to finish up and I was able to sit in my car the whole time. they checked all of my lights and tires, my fluids and changed my oil in a very timely manner. They also offer a $5 discount on oil changes for Ladies on Tuesdays, and $5 off for new customers. I also received a very nifty pouch to put all of my oil change receipts in, along with business cards and discount cards. I was made to feel very important and I will defiantly be returning! BEWARE - poor customer service and they will over / up-charge you for the service. Where to begin, I went online and made an appointment for an Oil Change and A/C service. according to the website, this should have been done in less than an hour and a half. It was my Daughters Jeep Liberty and we met there to drop the vehicle off and got get a quick bite while they serviced the jeep. I indicated in the appointment app online that we needed the vehicle back by 1:45 and reminded them of this when i dropped it off @ 12:30. they told me it would be ready. We returned at 1:45 - no jeep insight. According to the manager, the tech had left 5 minutes ago to road test the A/C. ONE HOUR Later, he returns back to the shop. as for the bill, since I wasn't there they decided to change the air filter, cabin filter and up-charged me $30 for synthetic oil in a 2011 jeep.... That was and extra $100 I hadn't planned on. This place was making other customers wait over an hour for Louisiana state inspections with two and three employees just sitting around.
