Came here when I got ear infection on a weekend. Worst! because no doctor office open on the weekend. I think I've been spoiled living in a place where there is after care clinics and insurance that is good and dependable. Well, it's all different now. Found this place on my way to Wal-mart... It was new. I was so sick that I thought... why not! at least hopefully, a doctor would not make you feel worse that you already are, right? and the bill won't cost me an arm and a leg, I didn't think. So, yes, I went in... Surprisingly, the place is nice, the service is fast and hm.. somewhat friendly, and ... I got better!! Again, Yes, I would definitely return to this office whenever I got sick, which I think is kind of sad, because I haven't found a better doctor yet! But, oh well.. this will serve me well! read more

We just had the greatest experience! We came in for a UTI for my 11 year old. We will be making this our new urgent care home. The office staff was very sweet and quick. There was hardly any wait time. The doctor was so nice and made us feel very welcome while getting us in and out without feeling rushed. Even my 11 year old said it was a great experience. Please train your receptionist. I was not asked what insurance I have. She transferred me to a nurse since she could not assist me at first. And when I arrived there after driving for 20-30 min she said oh actually we don't accept this kind of insurance, and I was sick at that time. What a waste of time! Had a great experience getting in quickly for COVID testing just in time to catch my parents from getting on a plane to come visit! The online registration and check in was quick and painless. I know there is a rush of people getting tested, but they have the process down and set the right expectations as to timing and what to do. After calling four different facilities, I found that this would probably be the most effective and cost-efficient solution for me. I came in to ExpressMD as a cash self-pay patient with abdominal pain, back and flank pain. They were very good to tell me about what tests would cost. They asked questions, listened to my responses, and made the process very simple. It was a clean facility and had lots of magazines. The nurse and doctor were kind. I was in and out in 1.5 hours on a Thursday morning. Would definitely come here again if I needed another appointment. read more

Good place to be seen when you can't get a quick appointment with your regular PCP and they take your insurance. I checked the hubs in online about 2hrs before we went but there was still a bit of a wait on a Weds. at noon. The staff seems knowledgeable and they have decent bedside manner, but really it was Monica, a PA here, who was so great; she had such a lovely and patient demeanor. Once we were taken back she went into fast action with testing, diagnosing, giving some quick medicine, and prescribing a treatment. The entire visit took us about an hour. It may have been even less if they hadn't been rightly concerned with making sure his fever was going down before we left. It was definitely a good choice. It's a better option then the ER or trying to schedule same-day with our PCP. If we have similar circumstances again, I'd have no qualms with going back. read more

Even though I had to wait awhile because it's so busy with COVID and physical season for sports, once I was taken back I had excellent care. The nurses all listened to me carefully and made sure I was comfortable. They worked to accommodate me and were gentle. The PA gave me multiple options on how to soothe my symptoms. I've gone here twice in the last 2 months for a reoccurring upper respiratory infection. Both times I went was due to my regular primary care physician not being available to fit me in that day. I've decided that I'm going to just start going here to Express MD directly from now on. Their facilities are nice, neat and very clean. The staff is very friendly. I saw the same Dr. both times (Dr. Guillen). She is amazing. Kind, patient, friendly. She is always willing to explain all of the details of what is wrong and what treatment/prescriptions she is recommending for me. She does this in terms I can understand. The first time I went in she told me that if I was still having symptoms in the next 3 days I could call and they would call in a different prescription for me instead of asking me to come back and pay to see them again. They have followed up with me on both occasions to make sure I'm feeling better. This is better customer service than I get from my primary care physician!! I recently visited ExpressMD to deal with a recurring back injury. I don't have the paperwork in front of me, so this message is to simply comment on my experience. This was my first visit to your location. The paperwork is always tedious, but wasn't too bad. I'm hopeful for a more electronic option someday though, instead of the pen/paper option. I was able to see a Dr. with minimal wait, which was good given the extreme pain I was in. Given my experience with this injury and prior care, the Dr. listened to my feedback (I appreciated this), but also asked good questions, and we were on our way quickly with a solution. I left with a plan and now I'm back to 100%. I did have one billing issue, but called and had it resolved with no issue. In summary, my experience has been a very positive one. I don't typically take the time to write reviews but feel compelled to share the exceptional treatment my daughter received at ExpressMD. That said, I took my seven year old daughter here to be seen for a gash on her shin and potentially broken wrist as a result of a bike wreck. She was visibly scared and upset, and I was shaken as well. There were several people in the waiting room, but they took her back right away to stop the bleeding on her shin with the understanding that we would have to wait a while to see the nurse practitioner and x-ray tech. I was very pleased they made an effort to stop the bleeding on her shin right away and was happy to wait our turn to be seen by the other staff. A medical assistant started off by dressing the wound, and we then waited about 30 minutes to see the x-ray tech. Fortunately the x-ray was negative for a break. We were told it was a sprain, and they applied a splint to help stabilize and reduce swelling. We then waited about another 15 minutes to see Candice, the nurse practitioner. She was super sweet and compassionate and was able to close up the cut on her shin with a medical grade adhesive. I didn't even know that was a thing and was really happy she didn't have to use stitches which are much more painful! This was a fantastic experience given the circumstances with the entire staff showing concern for my daughter's well being, and I expressed my gratitude upon leaving. The staff mentioned their small, privately owned business relies heavily upon positive feedback and asked if I would please leave a review if I have time, so here I am. I would also like to mention most of the negative reviews I read about this business contain complaints about waiting. I personally feel people that complain about a wait when coming to an urgent care facility taking high volumes of walk-in patients should exhibit a little more intelligence, logic, and understanding. This is simply the nature of the business at times. Ok off my soap box now...hahaha! All that said, I would highly recommend ExpressMD ! read more

I went in with a badly hurt foot/ankle, concerned that I had possibly broken my foot, and got an X-ray. I walked right in, was seen quickly by a PA. Thankfully, my foot was not broken, and was sent home with an ace bandage. When I called back a day later to request a note from the clinic to park close to the elevator at my workplace temporarily until I can heal good, I was flat turned down. I didn't think it would have been a big deal to get some sort of doctor note since I did just injure my foot, and my visit there was not free- hello? I will most likely not return to this clinic, unless I really need to. read more

I had a horrible experience with the receptionist. We had relocated recently and despite our insurance covering the visit, the receptionist said we needed to pay the full amount out of pocket. So we did, because I needed to be seen for an ear infection and ran a fever and felt horrible. I had to go back in because I still had symptoms and wanted to follow up 2 weeks later. This time, after confirming with our insurance carrier, Cigna, covered us at this specific location the same receptionist said we couldn't be seen unless we pay the full amount. I put our insurance carrier on the phone with her to confirm they would cover it but she absolutely refused. Even our insurance didn't understand how they could refuse even though they assured we were covered. We left and I found another facility, Care Now Urgent Care who accepted us and our insurance no problem. What an unfortunate first impression! It makes it difficult when you are just seeking help and the person in the front does not even seem to want to work with you. read more

My daughter had an infected and fractured toe and I took her to the Texas Medical Clinic on Parmer and Mopac. $160 later, they basically just wrapped it and did not issue any antibiotics or notice the growing staph infection. I went back the next day because her toe was completely black. They would NOT see her again unless I paid another $100. I called Express MD and they saw her immediately. They quickly recognized she had an infection and prescribed strong antibiotics for the infection and drained the toe. The staff was super friendly and patient. I had a question the next day, because I could not tell if it was worse and the doctor was nice enough to come out into the waiting room and see my daughter immediately! They did not charge for that quick consultation. I would definitely recommend Express MD! read more

Yesterday was my 1st time at a private ER clinic and I expected the worst -- expensive, shoddy doctors. But when you're in a true emergency those things don't matter. You just need a doctor, pronto. Backstory of the emergency: I went to Lake Pflugerville with my hubby and dog for a swim and was attacked by a colony of fire ants. (Note: Don't step in one. My white leg was black from my toes to mid-calf and they went to town.) My foot started itching soon after, then went upstream from my foot to my butt (literally) to my head and every inch of my body. Yeah, nothing like scratching your butt incessantly in a bikini. Always stubborn and thinking my body can heal itself this new experience, it wasn't until my face and throat swelled up and I had trouble breathing (maybe 15 mins after the attack) that we realized it was a true emergency and hospital time, pronto. I went from, "I'm itchy but I'm sure it'll go away", to "I Ohay", to letting out, "I hink I head a hawkta". Um, it was time. Hubby looked up the closest ER Clinic and found this one a few blocks away. The second I walked in I was whisked to a room, the nurse and doctor asked only the questions they needed for emergency treatment, checked my vitals and stance and had given me the needed shots w/in mins needed for insect bite poison (again, my butt had a bad day!) They went above and beyond with not just immediate medical expertise, but also care. They even took time to constantly make sure my husband was calm and understanding of the process. They were so quick to act instantly that they didn't get any of my personal info until later, and nurse and doctor and even receptionist checked on me constantly...I was surrounded by staff to see how I felt. Even though I felt better quickly after the meds, they had me stay for an hour so they could do constant checks of my appearance, blood pressure/pulse, AND mental well-being. The doctor was epic, explaining things to me in a soothing voice and keeping me calm. Since it was my first time at one I can't compare a private ER clinic to another, but I can compare it to large hospitals, and I've never had better care at any hospital than here. I was very pleased with our experience here. My 15- month old developed a fever and an ear ache and our mds office and after hours clinic were booked. There was an annoying amount of paper work but it was probably less than the usual amount for a first visit to a doctors office or clinic. The staff was good with my son who howled and fought their examination. George, the tech or nurse that took his vitals and did the strep swab was really good with my son (although my son may never forgive him, I though he did a great job). It was a simple problem but since my son clearly felt awful I was really glad to have such a nice place with nice people to go to. It took about an hour which is great for a walk-in place. Also, they don't bill as an ER like the st. Davids on grand avenue. My ER copay is 10 times my urgent care co pay and we got much better treatment here than there. The waiting area is clean and nice but they don't have anything to keep kids entertained while you wait - which is a good thing if you think about it - so take something with you so you can fill out the forms without a crying baby clinging to your leg. read more

I do not have insurance so it cost $115 and I also paid(my choice) $45 for a pee analyst. I came here with a serious infection in my inner ear and it hurt to even chew or laugh. The nurse was very sympathetic and could see I was suffering pretty badly. My caregiver was a professional that nailed the problem, and prescribed me the meds that got me fixed up. I was in a bad place going in, but got my needs met before I got out. I would agree with the folks below that the front desk gal was a little sassy, but it didn't phase me enough to bust them a star. Thanks for the save! read more

John the X-ray tech really is so kind and friendly and helped me. I've used ExpressMD in the past never been disappointed and today was no exception. Today I was seen for jaw pain to the point of tears, rated a 10/10. I started to go to another urgent care who had a 2 hour wait. They then told me that my insurance card had expired ( Yay me I haven't had to use my insurance yet this year), so I went home to print the updated card and returned. They then said that they stopped taking patients for the day, it was 2 hours before closing. I ended up going to ExpressMD. I was greeted with a smile. I instantly sensed a relief that I was going to be ok. After a 40 min wait, I got seen. The NP came in sat down and listened to what's going on. We came up with a plan of antibiotics, muscle relaxant and a NSAID injection ( can't take oral NSAIDs. It's been a proximally 3 hours and my pain is reduced on a 2/10. Great little place with very friendly staff and a correct diagnosis. Most places do an automatic book count etc. but this doctor tried not to do any unnecessary tests. We were in and out within about 30 minutes, and the ability to print off the forms before the visit sped things up even more. We only had to fill out 3 forms and the visit (before any extra testing) cost $119. The urgent care place cost us $150 last year, so that's a good saving. We were also given a discount card for the meds, which we picked up across the parking lot at the Walmart. read more

This place just hit another low in their already terrible services. Telling Lies. I was involved in a workplace injury and chose this clinic as my in network care provider as it is the closest to where I live. To make a long story short, I never for once saw/met the doctor whose electronic signature often appears on all my visits paperwork. All my visits were chit-chat sessions and no exams was done whatsoever. As requested by my case claim nurse who comes to my Dr. Visits, the nurse told me to stop taking my prescription medications so I could resume work immediately. I walked out of my final chit-chat session just minutes into it as I was upset that it was a waste of my time. The next day I got a call back that the Dr. had sent a release to work and I should report to regular duty. I was read the nurse's report on my walkout and that I had used profanity. Very untrue, in fact it is a lie. All I said was I'm tired of wasting my time here for a chit-chat session and walked out. I've wasted 7 weeks with this clinic, not even 1 single diagnosis, I was prescribed medications and released back to work because the nurse took offense of me walking out. I'm going to start allover again at another clinic. read more

I have only been here for pre-employment drug testing a couple of times. So I really can't say weather or not the doctors are good. However, I can say John who does the drug screening is very professional and knows how to do his job. The front desk staff is nice (no complaints). I don't really have anything negative to say about this place. I was also pleased to know that if you can't go pee yet for your drug test they give you a bottle of water to drink and let it brew some pee up and they wait until you can go before having you do the screening. Overall, I am satisfied with the service I received when it comes to drug screenings. read more

I am truly blown away. ExpressMD Urgent Care was fantastic! I hurt my neck and have been in pain for a few days. I called ARC to get an appointment today and they didn't have anything available at any of the local clinics. I'm in too much pain to wait another day to see a doctor. I didn't want to wait hours in an ER and pay the $100 copay either. I googled "Urgent Cares" and found this place. I went online, filled out the "online check-in" and was seen in their office within a hour. The staff is beyond friendly and the doctor was awesome! Best of all, my co-pay was only $20! My son cut his chin while playing in the bathtub. I took him into Express MD and it was so easy and painless for everyone. They were so kind and nice to my 2.5 year old. Dr. A was quick while he stitched up my son's chin and George had everything ready for Dr. A to make things even easier. The front staff was very nice and efficient as well. I was only charged for a specialty under my insurance verses and emergency co-pay. Express MD was MUCH faster, nicer, and a cheaper experience than if I had gone to the emergency room. I will be returning if we have another emergency situation or if it's after hours. read more

I spent a few hours here today, took my sweetheart in because he had been vomiting the entire day. They are open till 9, we made an online for 7:15 (which was fast and easy, you just enter your name, number, and appointment time and print the confirmation), we had to come early because he was getting worse, we were about 45 minutes early, they made it simple to fill out the paperwork and we were taken back as soon as we were done. The two people that helped us when we were brought back couldn't have done a greater job! It was really like we were their family at their homes, they offered him blankets, a pillow, water bottle, adjusted the lights and anything else they could think to offer since he was feeling so badly. The few hours we were there was to see the medicine take effect, get him hydrated and level headed, otherwise, they were very quick to take the next step and to help along the way. It went smoother than we could have hoped for. The office was even nice clean and comfortable. I will definitely be going here in the future if necessary. (Hopefully we can stay healthy though!) :) read more
