Excellent find here in the main airport…read more This was a duty free shop before security, but after passport control. While dining in the lounge, I wanted to see if liquor could be had for a good price. Plus I had Euro currency and coins heavy in my pocket so I wanted to use them up as they are not worth much going back to the states. Sure enough, I found lots of liquor - especially the hard to find 1L bottles of Abelour 12 year old Scotch and Black Bush Irish whiskey. Compared to US prices for the same item but in smaller 750ml bottles in the states - the prices were about 40% lower and I got 250ml more because these are export sized 1000ml bottles (1L). They have tasting tables where you can sample before you buy. I got 2L of liquor on sale which was a bonus! Remember, 1L is allowed per person over 21years old. Luckily I had my GF who was over 21 and I was able to use her allowance to return with the extra alcohol. The clerk properly placed the liquor in a tamper proof sealed bag with the receipt to pass thru security. I also picked up a deal on candies, chocolates, and snacks for the plane at the same time. Once at security, even though it was sealed, the security person opened them up, swabbed the bottles and placed the swab in a chemical explosives detector. All went fine, he pointed to the Abelour scotch and said - tres bon (very good) and smiled. He then repackaged them into another tamper proof clear bag w/ receipt and told me not to open & drink these on board. Such a funny security person! You do need to know your prices before you walk in as the duty free can be a bargain or not....

I shopped in this store more than 5 years, but this time the experience is extremely bad. The store…read morehandled the price with discrimination, the customer service is useless and with condescending attitude. I purchased several Chanel products in Terminal M duty free store. I bought 3 eyeliners (Le liner de Chanel) with different colors. The salesperson in the store told me the eyeliners were all new for the holiday and were the same price. In the store, the eyeliners were display together and didn't mark different prices. When I checked out, the cashier told me the total, and I just paid and ran to my flight. By the way, the cashier registers were only two opened at that time and super slow with the process. There were always like 8 people waiting on the line. When I got home, I found out that one of them (number 514) the sell price showed 43.67 euro, and the other two (number 536, 538) were 36.10 euro. With the 10% discount, it's not too bad, but I was not feeling good because the store and salesperson didn't give me the correct price information. I checked the Chanel. com, the products are sold with every colors all the same price 42 euro. It just doesn't make sense that they have one of the product, came out at the same time with the others, but only the one with extremely high price. The sell price is even more than the official website. Since it is a duty free store, and they claim their store offers the best value, this doesn't make sense either. Thus, I contacted the after sale department (case number #69965), the agent Dorrine was not really put herself in customer's shoes to understand their concerns, and the letter she wrote was full of condescending attitude and exaggerate excuses. I also tried to use the what's up to contact them again, the same result and even awful, plus slow efficiency, took me 3 days to repeated the same thing there. They use the condescending way to say they OFFER me can return the product, but I have to pay the shipping myself. The worse of all, from the first to the last message, no one say their names. I asked their name and asked their manager's name, they never reply, it is extremely rude and irresponsible. I will think I am talking with robots. They even used the extremely case like their store are using French local chain store Marionnaud to sale the product, and not use high standard like department store or brand Boutique. The staff is lower down their level. I asked them, why your store didn't mark the price correct in the counter? Why even the salesperson didn't know the prices are different? and why you are the only store selling the same products but with different prices which is color discrimination? They just answered me this is how their store works. I feel this is a dishonest business, and it is cheating customers, with discrimination concerns. I was asking to escalate this case to the higher up and their manager, but they never did. I told them I am not here to make trouble, I really want to buy the items, but they should refund me the difference of the 514 eyeliner and correct the price, but they were just circling there and denied they have any problems. Extremely awful situation! Good luck when shopping there, and don't forget to get the member points and discount if you are a frequent traveler, they will never tell you that. I still met some salesperson are super nice and helpful there, and their previous customer service was awesome (Terminal M Venessa, and Phat are excellent, the only star is for them, they deserved 5 star in my heart)! But well, the after sales customer service now are super rude and unprofessional and need lots improvements. I still don't understand, they dare to tell me not to argue anymore and ignore my email and messages, but they don't dare to tell me their names? What a chicken behavior.

This ship is a great place to pick up "oh shit, I forgot to get something for the co-workers" gifts, and a fine place to use up all your leftover Euros. Plus, giant Toblerones.

Terminal 2B of the international Paris airport (named after the WWII general and later French…read moreleader) is mainly used by European flights for airlines like SAS, Finnair, and easyJet. I used it twice on my week long Paris trip, and found both instances to be OK. On night 1, took a 50 minute flight from Frankfurt, landing around 22:25 (about 5 hours after my original expected arrival time). A jet bridge was provided. Since we had arrived from another Schengen country, there was no immigration checks. My original plan was to take the train into Paris, but it was pretty late at night so decided to take a taxi. Good advice at any airport is to go directly to the official airport taxi spot, ignoring all the would-be good samaritans offering advice on official airport grounds. Some of them were quite good at being indignant about me ignoring them (i.e. 'look at me when I'm talking to you!'). The main issue I had is that the official taxi drivers weren't much better. The router at the cab station didn't really care (not asking me where I'm going), just telling me to go the next cab that pulled in. I told that driver where I was going, and he then started to go. I asked him what the rate would be, and he ignored me. I asked again, and this time he said he would tell me once on the road. I got angry and told him it needed to be a flat rate. This made him unhappy, and after a few moments put a flat rate of 56€ into the meter, which is the prescribed rate for the Right Bank (which is where I was going). The rest of the ride was done in silence. We got to the hotel, and he expected to be paid in cash. I insisted on a credit card, which he was not happy with. Next time I will just take an Uber for less cost and hassle. On night 7, I had a 90 minute flight to Copenhagen, where I intended to visit for a couple of days before flying back to LA. I took the train from Paris, and it did take a bit of meandering to get to Terminal 2B. Going through security was quick, and afterwards I had arrived airside without going through any sort of id check with boarding pass (which is what is typical at US airports). There wasn't much there in terms of food, so picked up some water from a vending machine ($3.04 converted). There weren't many flights leaving from our gate area, so there were plenty of seats to wait. Most seats had both USB-A and eletrical outlets to charge. Free Wi-fi was provided, just requiring any email address to register. Boarding was exactly on time, with announcements in Danish and English and we were airborne 13 minutes after we left the gate.

This was a very clean airport. I enjoyed shopping in the duty-free stores. Sadly, the bottle of…read morevirgin olive oil in an Eiffel Tower did not have duty free packaging on it, so when I arrived at Heathrow airport for my connection flight, it got confiscated. I am still very upset over this. Good thing I did not buy more liquid gifts! The airport itself was easy to navigate around. I found my gate without any problems.
