Don't pay any attention to online specials they advertise. Once they hook you and you have all of your stuff moved in you can expect to pay double or close to it within a year and a half. There should be a law to protect against their inevitable and consistent price hiking strategy. read more

I must say I was forced into having to get a storage unit, and I was told to go to the 22 mile Van Dyke Extra space storage. Marion was kind and helpful, and actually drive me around the facilities in a golf cart to see what unit would accommodate my needs. I would recommend this location to anyone that is in the area and needs extra space... Great choice, and I am happy with my decision.. read more

Ive rented storage from other places but this facility price increases are ridiculous . It starts out fair but before you know it ypur paying an ungodly amount for a small space. I found tbe management to be rude at times and had a Napoleon complex if you drive thru without putting in your code . I will never refer or recomend this storage facility to anyone read more

When looking at storage needs and you come across this place - RUN. They are unprofessional and criminals as they will continue to take $$ after you've moved out. The woman who works here is very rude and will tell you one thing and do another. I've had many storage units in my life and hands down the management here sucks. After a nasty divorce and being emotionally drained, I left up to my stepdad to get a place for my furniture to be stored. It started at $145.00 and after 3 years, is $210. Do not utilize this place. They seem inexpensive at first but then they hike the rate. They look like a clean location but look next door. If you are not on the lease (even if you pay for the rental and utilize your credit card). They treat you as a second hand citizen. I would not recommend this place to anyone. They say they treat you as you treat them but that is HUGE delusion. In my world, you treat others as they treat you. When they treat you as a second hand citizen, one acts accordingly. This started when I asked for a receipt to be emailed to me for the payment for my records from the manager, who said it was against company policy to email them. ???? When they had been doing it all along prior. BAD PLACE TO RENT FROM. One would think they would recognize money guaranteed in the bank when they have a continuing renter but no they don't. I know I contribute to someone's paycheck and job security. Bad customer service, bad disposition and just bad all around. I had to give them a one star but if I could, I would give them a below 5 star rating. Definition of Customer Service: Customer service sets great businesses apart from the rest. Customers are the reason that businesses exist. Keeping those customers happy means being responsive to their needs and wants. A good customer service experience can turn a one-time customer into a lifelong repeat customer. People like to share their good experiences. REALLLLLY sick of haggling with you guys about my rates/auto-pay. Why does my auto pay never come through? I have set this up wayyyy too many times with you. The rate raise doesn't make much sense to me either, so I asked why? "well, supply and demand. Plus we have to pay for our parking lots to get paved." Look, I understand supply and demand. If demand is high- BUILD MORE UNITS! Your parking lot is a COST OF DOING BUSINESS. I pay $105 for my stuff to sit in your garage- I started at $89 and it was up to $115 within a year. read more

So far so good. I have been treated professionally by the staff. I applied online and was called immediately. I went to the facility and was given a tour of my storage garage as well as the rest of the facility. I misplaced my insurance certificate for my car so the manager was good enough to scan his copy and give me a certificate. This is my third time renting at Extra Space. Do NOT store your items here...period. A big rip-off and their ''reason'' for continued rate increases are..laughable...at best. We were told that they were due to...increase demand...of ALL storage places, which we highly doubt. So, they think by raising the rates every few months, they are going to stop that from happening? Well, no, because they will be the only place with little to no renters if they continue the way they are. Went to clean out the unit today, being it is the last day of the month, and to avoid paying for next month, and was told...''sorry, we charge according to the..date..of the month that you got the unit." So, now we are stuck paying for most of November. Glad to be done with this place!! read more

I have rented at ExtraSpace for over two years. I would NOT recommend this place due to the fact that they give a decent price up front and then they raise your rates after you've moved in. It is decent enough, but if you have anywhere else in mind, I would go there! read more
