If there is anything positive to come from the terrible experience I had with this company, it is…read morethe opportunity to leave an honest review and hopefully prevent someone else from going through the same thing. I hired America's Best of the Best to pack a truck ahead of my recent move out of state. The two guys who came over were very pleasant and worked hard, but did not pack the truck well. Even when I gave them rope and asked them to secure my items by tying them down, they refused, insisting that nothing would slide during my 1,400-mile trip. Predictably they were wrong, causing multiple containers and pieces of furniture to be damaged. After sharing my experience and photos with the company's owner, he promised to partially reimburse me for my losses. However, he never did, and after multiple followups via both phone and email has now ghosted me altogether. If you want to hire a company that will improperly pack your truck, break your items, issue you an empty promise about covering their damage, then hide from you, America's Best of the Best is for you. (Same goes for Budget Movers, another Tulsa moving company owned by the same person.) Otherwise, PLEASE spare yourself the negative experience I had, and find someone else. As in, literally anyone else.

When we moved from Oregon early this year we heard the various horror stories about stolen…read moreshipments, damages, etc from second-rate moving companies. We didn't want to risk that. So, we checked around and North American was one of the few 'verified' companies listed on a state website to use. So, we picked them. We were in good hands. They spent about 12 hours getting us packed up onto their trailer and away they went. At first we were going to move to Texas. That's a long story. I found a storage unit and reserved my spot. I asked them if an 18 wheeler could get in there before doing so and was told it could. A few weeks later North American called to say it was going to arrive on a particular day. On that day, I show up, and the driver says, no, he can't get his truck into the location. After a few calls around he suggests that a North American storage facility in San Antonio can easily take the load. Of course, instead of $250/month that I was expecting to pay, theirs is $1000/month. But, I accept it since I'm then in a bind. While talking with the driver I learn that when my furniture left my home in Medford, OR, it went to a local warehouse where all of it was unloaded onto the dock because they needed the trailer. Then, when they got ready to send it to Texas, of course, it all had to be reloaded. So, clearly, they unloaded all my furniture again in San Antonio and, when I finally found a house, they loaded it up for delivery where it was unloaded again. A LOT of handling went on. The final driver who brought it to our home noted that we'd had a LOT of damage and he'd never seen such a mess. But, hey, we had a contract in which North American would pay for damages so we weren't worried. Over the next 4-5 months as we fully settled in we found that some things were completely missing. Things not obvious at first but, when you go to find them you realize that they never made it. These were in the lost or stolen category. Then there were the piles of broken things. Then there was a king sized mattress that had been fine before they got a hold of it but, after arrival, one size was slanted. If you lay on it you found that you felt like you were going to roll off the bed. They ruined it. After having it for 22 years, it was now ruined. We dutifully added up add the various damages and presented them pictures (of the items that weren't lost or stolen; estimates on all of those) with a final estimate of nearly $7500 in damages. They paid us $2600 After spending $30,000 to have them move us and 'take care' of our items they paid us 1/3 of the damages they caused. Now the company that handled the claims is : Sirva 101 E Washington Blvd. Ste 1100 Fort Wayne, IN 46801 USA 1 260 429 3120 office 1 260 247 3201 Fax and, of course, you know who North American is. I will say all the people I interacted with directly were very pleasant. Why shouldn't they be? They were ripping me off for an enormous sum of money while I have no legal recourse. For the amount of money I spent, actually probably for close to half what I spent, I could have rented PODS and paid people to pack them. I could have overseen the packing and I wouldn't have 'lost' anything and had far less damage. The only thing North American did do properly was on their estimates. They did not quote one price and then jack it up on loading day like some of the shady movers are reported to have done. Other than that, I wouldn't let these people move my dog.
