Needed a new local eye doctor. Tried this office out. Eye glass selections are top of the line and great to pick from. My daughter and I got an exam and glasses. My only issue is that they charge extra for a specific test for the health of the eyes although they are in network. Usually these tests are part of the eye exam with my other eye doctor visits. I didn't really like that so opted out for one test. Otherwise the staff, doctor and eye selection was amazing. Top quality glasses which reflects the pricing. I recommend them to my family and will definitely go back on annual basis! My teenager felt very comfortable and really liked the doctor. Everyone is so easy and great to work with through the way. OKKKKKK THIS PLACE HAS THE CUTEST GLASSES SELECTION! Making an appointment & checking in: I called in to make an appointment for myself and my husband. Maria who took my call was so sweet and helpful. She gave me options on future dates where I could be seen w/ my husband but instead I took a sooner date and scheduled my husband for the following week. Maria was able to get me in the same week I called! She also explained to me in detail the COVID protocols and what to expect the day of my appointment. & the best part was NO MORE PAPER! She text me the link to fill out the new patient paperwork online which took me less than 5 minutes! By the way if you can't fill yours out online don't worry, I'm sure they can have you fill it out in their office. Technician: When I arrived the office was so clean and organized. You could see their huge glasses selection. Once I checked in I was taken back immediately by the technician named David! YAAASSSS to caring about patients time! David was so quick to do all the testing and he explained what each test does and what to expect. Since I got married I was unsure what the insurance has my name under and he was kind enough to ask me what my preference was. Let's talk about customer service! Dr. Josephine Vu: the sweetest optometrist I've encountered. Dr Vu was so thorough and really seemed to care about my concerns and took her time to reach the most precise prescription. The appointment didn't seem like a usual doctors appointment. She engaged in conversation that was not just about my eyes. She also didn't rush or make me feel like there were other patients waiting. This was very important to me because every patient should feel as if they aren't just a number but a valued patient. She was also the person to review my testing images and I noticed how well she was studying them. When the appointment was completed she walked me over to her optician for glasses. She will definitely be my optometrist for years to come and hopefully my future kids OD as well. Optician: Chantal was so kind, patient, & helpful. She seriously took her time & brought me tons of options. She asked me what I was looking for & before I knew it she brought me all the cute glasses. When I didn't find the one, she would bring me another tray of cute glasses. She also had the other staff come & help give me opinions which was so nice of everyone. I used to get my eye exam/glasses from Koreatown ever since I can remember. These people have known me ever since I was in elementary school. But driving 30+ miles sitting in 1 1/2 hours of traffic from OC to LA is such a drag. So I did my research and found an optometrist who was literally 10 minutes from where I live. Dr. Vu. You have become my favorite!!! The staff is overly friendly and makes you feel so comfortable. Dr. Vu really took her time and exam my eyes to see what the problem was. Turns out I needed reading glasses. And because I have stigmatism with a -6.4, I needed some strong reading glasses! After examining my eyes for almost 30 minutes, she helped me pick out frames within my price range. Only disappointment was to find out that I wasn't a big fan of any of the frames that were in my price range. But since they were only going to be worn at home while I'm on my laptop yelping, I just went ahead and chose what i thought was decent. They may or may not carry the frames you like but I'm sure she can special order any frames. I liked Dr. Vu because of her attentive and caring service from beginning to end. read more

I really like the Dr who gave me my exam, he has great knowledge & very fun guy. The glasses in my opinion are too pricey. I can get the same kind of glasses for at least 15% off at another place in Fullerton. I only went twice & stopped going because I don't appreciate them putting a hold on my benefits. For example if you go for an exam they of course pull your Ins benefits so they can assure pymt for exam but what if you don't buy frames/ lenses there & go somewhere else to purchase frames? They will pull benefits for your frames too & then you're forced to call your Ins company to explain you didn't buy frames & to remove the hold so you can purchase elsewhere. I called & asked why they did that & I was told they always pull benefits that way but I could always ask them not to do that. On my 2nd visit I did explain I was only going for an exam & AGAIN they pulled frames & lenses. Since they can't seem to understand the Customer's request, we just stopped going. read more

My kiddo was in need of contacts this past year, as he plays sports and it was getting too difficult to use glasses under his hockey helmet, plus the chill of the rink always made them fog. He was incredibly reluctant to try contacts, as the idea of putting anything into his eye was extremely disconcerting, but the staff made it so fun and easy for him. Dr. Michaels was patient and careful as always while doing the contact lens exam, made some recommendations, and when we picked up the trial pair my kiddo was able to go through a few "training" sessions with the staff in order to get comfortable with the process of putting the contacts in, taking them out, and keeping everything clean. Chantal was very friendly on the phone and in person. When I arrived to their office, they are very serious at following CDC Guidline protocols. I signed in signed one form sat down not even 5 minutes before I got called in for preparation for the Doctor. Dave was super friendly and thorough in explaining instructions and procedures that would be performed for the exam. (Throughout my visit I saw postings of "room clean and sanitized") Made me feel relieved and that patient care is their priority. Dr. Michaels is very knowledgeable and explained everything to me in a way to make me understand whyEnglish. Is getting done. Like I like to say in, 'simple english'. He also considered MY perspective/concerns and asked me question of how I feel of my eye care. I never felt rushed or pushed in making a decision I didn't feel comfortable. This is excellent care. Location/office: located in the Target shopping center in La Habra, right next to the T-Mobile... you can't miss it. The office is a perfect size: not too big but not too small. It's nice & cool, & everything is nicely organized. Selection: they have a decent amount of glasses to choose from. Not too big where you're overwhelmed, but not too small where you can't find anything. Price: average prices... having insurance will obviously help. The cheapest pair for frames run between $150-$195, but even some designer brands like Lacoste or Armani are under $200, which is great IMO. Staff: the best thing about this place was the staff! The front desk woman/optometrist aid was beyond nice. From the second I walked it, she has a smile & was totally friends & explained everything clearly since it was my first time there. The doctor was also very friendly & took his time with me, so I didn't feel rushed. The other aid who helped me pick my glasses was very patient... I didn't want to spend too much since I was also getting contacts, so she found different types of glasses that I wanted style-wise & in my price point. She also gave me advice on which looked better on me (& it was not sales driven), as well as gave me options on how to use my insurance. Bottom line: great office, excellent staff, excellent service. We had the best experience getting our daughter her first pair of glasses. We came in with a prescription already and just needed to choose the perfect frames. Everyone was so friendly getting to know both of our daughters while we waited for our insurance to get approved. Wow! How disappointing. I came here for myself for an eye exam and glasses, had a great experience with Dr Justin Michaels. Then we return, my husband taking our six year old daughter for her eye exam since she needs glasses, our 2 year old tagging along. Our 6 year old sees Dr Josephine Vu. We clearly requested my daughter's eyes be dilated for her exam at the time of scheduling yet they don't do it. Why? Because our two year old was distracting them. Two year olds cry or fuss at times, what does that have to do with you doing your job and examining our daughters eyes as you were asked to do so? You take an oath when graduating as a doctor, to provide appropriate patient care. I would know, as I, too, am a doctor. I would NEVER intentionally not do part of a patient's requested exam services because a baby is making sound. That has nothing to do with you doing your job. I called to ask why the dilation wasn't done and they tell me it's because our baby was being rambunctious. Seriously?! The baby wasn't your patient, the quiet 6 year old was. I call to have them schedule the dilation for the next day given the inconvenience they've caused us in not doing the test at the time of our visit. They say no, then proceed to tell us they won't provide us our prescription and won't send in our insurance claim so we can find another ophthalmologist. Way to run a small business! Some professionalism and humility would do you some good. Never coming back here. Any patients who might have a child with them, be warned, they're not welcome here. read more

I wasn't sure which vision insurance I had through work. I called and the front desk was super helpful. They got my information and told me they'd call me back shortly. Roughly 20 minuets, and they returned the call and informed me on my insurance and that they accept it. Was able to schedule an exam same day. The Dr was super friendly and very informative. I've seen many eye doctors in the past eight years, and the Doctor was super friendly, and even gave me some advice and was caring in doing so. I was told I am 20/30 so I could use glasses, but it's not needed by law to operate a vehicle. However in the very near future I plan on getting them, and I'll be sure to come to this location to get them. read more

Making a very long story short, I was treated horribly all after giving them close to $800 for services and eyewear. A couple of years ago, gun shy and on a quest for good service and eye care, I made an appointment for Eye Care For You. Can I say that the staff here are all phenomenal individuals, from the Optometrist to the front end you are treated with kindness and dignity. They really are great people here. After sometime of being in denial about needing glasses I mentioned to a friend of my family and she recommended I go see Dr. Vu. So I called they were very friendly, and they were able to schedule me in a few days after I called. I was glad I was able to do all the paperwork online, better for me and the environment. Upon arriving to my appointment I was greeted by a very friendly staff, a young lady by the name of Crystal explained everything to me and conducted the beginning portion of the exam. Shortly after I saw Dr. Michaels, who was also very friendly and explained everything to me as a first timer and answered all my questions very thoroughly. Not a big surprise to find out I will need to begin wearing glasses full time, he explained the ins and outs and what I have to look forward to. After that I was referred to another young lady Celeste (I believe that was her name) who helped me pick frames, they have a great selection of frames I took a long time trying to make a decision, she was very accommodating and helpful! Actually all of the staff helped me out trying to find the perfect frames. Unfortunately, I did not go with any of the frames they offered, but I am very thankful for the experience. I realized that I was wearing my last pair of contact lenses and also remembered that I haven't had an eye check up in 2 years so I figured it was time for an eye exam. It was easy and hassle-free to make an appointment that could fit into my schedule and the office was fairly easy to find. Dr. Michaels was friendly, thorough, and professional during the entire exam. We discussed the option of Lasik and the biology behind my bat vision. Without my contacts on, he kind of looked like Drama from Entourage. That's how horrible my eyesight is. Anyway, they carried a great selection of glasses and I don't wear frames on a daily basis... only before I hit the hay and in the morning before I insert my contacts. I received many options and plenty of feedback on the different materials of the frames and lenses that were suitable for my eye sight. I came in to get some sunglasses the other day and the optician there was very helpful in finding the right frame for me. She discussed what frame styles best suited me with my face shape and overall style. She also helped find the right lens tint color for me (I have sensitive eyes). She didn't at all seem like your "sleazy" sales rep in that she was just trying to make a quick sale. She genuinely wanted to find something that fit ME. The doctor and her only optician were both very enthusiastic about my frame selection. They were very friendly and pleasant to work with. Apparently the doctor just opened this practice not too long ago and it is a branch off of her husband's office that is in Lake Forest. They both graduated from the the optometry school in Fullerton and have both been in practice for like 5 years or so. Would definitely come here again to get my eyes checked. read more

I just moved into the area. I know. I am no longer the ghetto girl from Pico. I am now the ghetto girl in East Whitter. Anyway, I was looking for an optometrist since I just got insurance! I called up Eye Care For You and not only was the girl nice on the phone, she hooked me up with an appointment the following day. I arrived and I really liked how easy it was to find the place (right next to Target) and how clean it was inside. They have great choices for designer eye wear. Like previous posters mentioned, they have state of the art eye stuff. I was impressed. They also asked if I wanted that dilated eye thing but I said I would postpone that sucker. The girl, Maria, who assisted me before the Dr. was nice and funny. I got along well with her and she put me at ease. The Dr. was also really nice. She explained everything that was being done to me and even calmed me down when she found out that I had *gasp* an astigmatism! The Dr. helped me pick out a really nice pair of Shanghai Tang glasses. She told me I would get them the following week but they arrived two days early and they called me to let know! Now that's what I call great service.
