I have been getting my prescription glasses at Eyeglass World for years. I get the eye exam and then go look at glasses. The doctor is really honest and tells you everything going on with your eyes. The salespeople give their honest opinions of how the glasses look on you. So, for me, I have more of a round face and certain glasses look right on me. Service is real friendly, i've been to many many eyeglass practitioners. This one stands Head and Shoulders above the rest. Service for your glasses could be the same day depending on what glasses you need. They have a laboratory on site. I believe they are the only eyeglass service in this area Clearwater Saint Pete Tarpon Springs and maybe Tampa Bay altogether that you can get your eye exam and Eyeglasses ASAP!!! Like pretty much everyone else toward the end of the year, I wanted to use my vision insurance benefits before they expired. I'd checked out one or two other places first but hated their selection of glasses, so I'm so glad I came here instead. My eye exam itself was fine, so I went and checked out their selection of glasses immediately afterward. I don't usually wear glasses during the normal course of the day, I really only need them when I'm driving or watching a movie. Since my prescription barely changed from my last optometry visit two years ago, I decided to just get a pair of sunglasses this time since that's what I mainly use. If needed, I can come back early in 2020 for a pair of actual glasses as well, but my current pair suits me just fine for now. The store manager, Charles, helped me while I was checking out the sunglasses. I asked about the pair I preferred, because I liked their style but they were a bit tight on my face. He said they tend to loosen once the prescription lenses are put in, but if needed they could further adjust them for me. While I paid for my glasses (a super cute pair of Vera Bradley cat eye sunglasses), Charles and I chatted for a bit about my job and my upcoming trip to San Diego. He told me it would take about 7-10 days for the glasses to come in, which was fine since I was going to be gone for a over a week for Thanksgiving anyway. Sure enough, the day I got back from California, my glasses were ready for pickup... and surprisingly, Charles remembered me from a week and a half before, and asked how San Diego was! I don't know how many visitors they get on an average day, but my memory is truly terrible so I was very pleasantly surprised he remembered me. At no point did he ever feel like a pushy salesman, he seemed like a genuinely nice guy and made me feel like a valued customer. This location is so friendly ! I was so happy with the customer service I received from the time I walked in to the time I left. I had an appointment scheduled to get an eye exam and I was shelled right away. I was the only one there so it was peaceful and made the appointment and process go by very quick! The doctor was great' she was a young lady and made my visit so pleasant ! She addressed all my concerns and made me feel so comfortable and not so blind haha ! My whole appointment took about maybe 15 minutes. I went into the sales area to try on glasses and was able to pin point the two I wanted right away and the young lady who helped me was so polite. She was so helpful and even had a pair of glasses on that I loved and she found them for me and let me try them on and I ended up ordering them :) Overall, this location is great and I highly recommend if you need assistance that is helpful and beneficial for your eye needs ! read more

No way. Never go to this place. My wife called ahead to say that she was going to be late to an appointment because MacDill Air Force Base had closed their gates. She sat in traffic for over 30 minutes on base and called the eye doctor to let them know she was stuck. She arrived 3 minutes after the "10 minute grace period" and was the last appointment of the day. When she arrived the eye doctor would not see her (after only 3 minutes past the grace period). To make matters worse they rescheduled her appointment for the next day but made her stay to fill out paperwork for the next 25 minutes?!?!?! I don't understand this. read more

I've been coming to this location for my eye exams, contacts and glasses for several years now. Though every visit has been very pleasant, my most recent eye exam was exceptional! It was a Saturday so I somewhat expected a long wait, but they were extremely punctual. Both the receptionist and Dr. worked thoroughly during my visit which made the time there quick and enjoyable. Every employee at this location is very helpful whether it is over the phone or in person. My insurance has changed several times but they always advise me on how to make the best of my coverage. It is nice to see familiar faces after the years and know that they are going to take care of any issues or concerns I have. read more

We have had two family members that went through the whole experience at Eyeglass World. My 90 mother had her eyes tested and bought two pairs of glasses. The doctor that tested mom was patient, professional, and great at putting mom at ease informing her of everything as he tested her eyes. Katelyn An was so much fun to work with. She never lost patience as mom sent her back 6 times to change the change the strength of the tint on her glasses. Mom has a habit of changing her mind often and Eyeglass World did it without complaint or loss of enthusiasm for pleasing the customer. My son also went through the process of eye examination to glasses purchase. He was met with the same professionalism and genuine caring at Eyeglass World. Everyone from start to finish was friendly and professional. Actually here right now for my boyfriends 315 appt that he made days ago and also had text confirmation for the appt. The young lady Jackie watched us walk right back to eye appt area then finally came back. Basically said there is no doctor and they called and ncelled for everyone. We had no call at all and planned entire day around this appt. She didn't seem to be considerate at all or understanding and basically said..well there is no doctor here right now and blew us off. This is a very nice store and I may have just been there on a bad day, but did want to share the experience. I need some single vision glasses but realized it was 2 years since my last exam so went to my regular place, but unfortunately the timing didn't work out. I called this store since they are on my insurance and they were able to give me an appointment for the very next day. There was virtually no one in the store when I got there, and they directed me to the back and said someone would check me in. When I got there, another customer was waiting for someone to check them out, and we both waited for over 15 minutes before anyone paid attention to us. The Doctor came out and told us that she had to leave shortly as she was just filling in, but another Doctor was coming (that never happened BTW). Another 5-10 minutes go by and finally they hand me paperwork. The first Doctor took another patient who must have been there before me, and so I did my paperwork and spent 10 minutes looking at glasses to make use of my time. Finally, after finding nothing I liked I sat down and 50 minutes after my scheduled appointment I was called in to see the Doctor, who very nicely decided to stay as it was clear her replacement wasn't coming. I apologized to her but she said that it was fine as she told her next appointment she would be delayed. So all was good, but the eye appointment was the fastest I ever had. My prescription did not change much and I guess we were done after about 10 minutes. I asked about dilation, and that is when I was told that she was out of time and I could come back in the next 30 days since I'd essentially paid for it. Well, at that point I had been there long enough but the store naturally wanted to keep me there to sell me glasses but I declined. First, let me say that this is my first review. For anything. I feel the need to have to bring this to everyone's attention when searching for a reliable place for contacts/eyeglasses. I went to Eyeglass World as a first-time customer but long time wearer of eyeglasses and contacts. My appointment was in April, 2021. Two part review, the doctor there gave me a prescription for progressive glasses (which is secondary to my contact lenses). I purchased them for several hundreds of dollars and I was told if they don't work for me, they would take them back. I also had a second eye exam for contact lenses (multi-focal). Contacts are my main go-to for seeing on a daily basis. Again, this whole process for contacts and eyeglasses started in April. The doctor kept fitting me for different contact prescriptions and different brand of contact lenses, she was unsure which was the right fit for me. She seemed constantly confused as to what contact lenses to fit me in as a whole so she kept trying different lenses on me. The latest trial pair of contacts that was ordered for me took over 2 1/2 months to come in. No call when they came in. When I called to see if the lenses came in (2 1/2 months later), they were waiting there for me so I immediately picked them up. The prescription was so off, I could not see driving at night. In the meantime, while I was waiting for the latest trial contact pair, I had to resort to wearing my "new" progressive glasses. Those made me dizzy and were not working either. Needless to say, after 5 (FIVE) months of trying to be fitted for contacts, I have neither a reliable pair of contacts nor a pair of glasses that I can wear on a daily basis. The new manager's ONLY solution to this was to offer to make a single-lense pair of glasses for me (which would typically be 1/4 of what I paid for the progressive glasses). If a manager is reading this now, I absolutely would not recommend anyone who needs reliable eyewear to visit, order or have exams at this store. read more

This place is GREAT, I highly recommend this Place. I recently moved to Tampa and my boyfriend and I needed new pare of glasses and contacts. Not knowing where to go was difficult so I called a few places and I found this place. They were very polite and professional on the phone. I showed up earlier and was seen right away. My Doctor was so professional and funny, He had my boyfriend and I laughing the whole time. The staff there were SO HELPFUL. I went around trying on glasses looking confused on what fit my face the best and they helped me right away with their knowledge and input. And may I say Charles the manager went above and beyond for us. He explained everything to us perfectly and gave us amazing pricing. I even showed up 3 weeks later because I felt my glasses were a tad tight and he took care of it in less then 10 mins of me walking in on a Saturday. Great experience. I went for an exam in July and the Dr. recommended a change that I tried and wasnt happy with. Shortly after I went back to request that we change back to the one I was happy with and was told no, you would have to pay for a whole new exam. I went in yesterday to buy another box of the contacts I hate because I'm not paying for another exam less than a year after. The manager overheard my chat with the associate and swooped in and said, let's get this fixed. He and the new Sr adjuster my RS, double checked it and gave me a sample set for 30 days and said if I liked them we would order that rx. Now THAT is customer service!! Thank you to the team there.. that is how you keep someone's business. I certainly appreciate their help and dedication. read more

I went in for a contact lens exam as my prescription had expired. I was given a sample pack for the new prescription of a different type of contact lens as they did not have samples my lens in stock. I was instructed to return the following Friday as the OD I saw only works on Fridays. I wore the new prescription for a few days and as I felt I was seeing perfectly, I called to pick up the prescription rather than waiting for a follow-up. I was not changing the brand of contacts, only the correction. When my daughter went to pick it up, the OD working that day felt there was "an error in the prescription"? and refused to release it. I called again and was told it had been resolved but, when I went to pick up the prescription, it did not agree with the samples. It was my expired prescription; the one I was wearing when I came in for the exam! After discussion with the OD on duty, I was given a "corrected prescription" that was to agree with the samples I was given. Later, when I went online to order new contacts, I noticed that the left and right eye corrections were reversed from the sample boxes. I called and was told that the samples and the new prescription were wrong and the prescription for my old contacts was actually the right one! I returned to the store and it was determined the new prescription was correct but the sample boxes were labeled incorrectly (Right correction labeled Left etc.). A store employee offered to match an online price as well as an additional discount and I allowed Eyeglass World to fulfill my prescription. read more

Charles not just only took care of him in the most caring and compassionate way he also for no extra charge fixed his old glasses that were is such poor condition while my friend waits for the new glasses we ordered at the store. Went here to get an eye exam for glasses and everything seemed fine. I get my lenses done through a different company in Orlando and the first pair get back and they made me feel cross eyed and like everything was bending. So they re measure everything and had a new pair made. Two more times they did that and nothing was working. So they tell me that they think the prescription is not right and tell me to go back to eyeglass world to have them recheck and look at the lenses too. I call eyeglass world and I explained the situation to someone and was put on hold for 10 minutes and another lady asked what was going on so I told her and she put me on hold for 10 minutes and came back and said my exam was 3 months ago and if I want to be rechecked I will have to pay full price. I tell her why would I pay full price when they are the ones who screwed up. She says there is absolutely nothing they can do. I explain to her why would I come back to the place that screwed up, pay full price for potentially another screw up when I can go somewhere else give them a shot and pay full price. She says again there is nothing they can do. So I went to Dr Forrest in Orlando and they did the exam, compared old lenses with new and the prescription eyeglass world prescribed, and triple checked and found that I was over prescribed, from the incompetent people at eyeglass world, and the astigmatism wasn't even close. Well because you were unwilling to fix the mistake you LOST a customer. Take a note, next time suck it up fix the mistake and keep customers. That's how you stay in business. What a shitty place that ripped me off. Where's my refund!?! read more

If you need to see the eye doctor, purchase new glasses or contacts, go here! Seriously, don't waste your time anywhere else! I've been to all kinds of places around Tampa/St.Pete and they can't compete with the level/quality of customer service I received from the staff. The physician was very nice and thorough, which I appreciated. The staff was caring, patient and they took their time to educate me on all of my options. I never felt rushed or pressured to make a decision. The staff made me feel like they cared about me as a customer and not as a dollar sign. Now if you want to pay outrages prices, receive terrible customer service and ultimately get a poor quality product, this is not your place. However, if you want to save yourself the hassle of dealing with gimmicks and sales tricks, then go in a check them out. I'm confident you will see what I'm talking about and will enjoy the same experience I received. Ask for Charles or Kevin, that's who I had the pleasure of dealing with primarily, but the entire team was outstanding! read more
