Since the Pearl City side of Ezogiku is closed. We went here to get our fix. Its a small mom and pop type old skool restaurant. But its in Waimalu and is at a good location. Very centralized. We got the Katsu, my fav fried rice, wonton min and gyoza. Of course it was very tasty. Parking is plentiful. Was lunch so it was busy. Took on the longer side to get out food. But it was worth it. I have been to the pearl city location before and Pearl Citys food was definetely different than the Waimalu one. The insides is pretty much a hole in the wall (pic). A few booths and some seating at the counter..kind of cozy if it wasnt for the pandemic. It's airconditioned with a very loud and obtrusive fan (air handler)..but at least its cool inside The staff (pretty much one waitress and the cook) was busy but efficient. The wait for our order was quick and all three orders came around the same time . The food was your typical ramen house. (ramen..fried rice.. curry.. mandoo..combo set action...) I ate at the Pearl City Ezos and the food was good....I don't share the same enthuisiasm with this location. I ordered the miso ramen..the soup was good the noodles good but then they put so much bean sprouts thats all I could taste and I dont particularly care for bean sprouts to begin with.. (so much sprouts almost used as a filler ) I did not order miso beansprouts!! ughhhhh Anyways if you love your ramen invaded by beansprouts then this is it...and if you want to actually taste your noodles with not overwheming amounts of beansprouts then shy this place! read more

I enjoy eating here and my usual meal is the Mini Combo D (2-choice) which consists of a mini won ton ramen and a side 4 pieces of gyoza. If I'm really hungry there is a 3 choice version that also includes a side bowl of pork fried rice. Instead of shoyu-sauce try substituting it with gyoza and chili oil over the rice. It's very tasty this way. The ambiance is a bit ghetto and not well kept. Dirty floors, a couple of counter stools are broken and a hazard. Magazines left under the counter are simply scattered left lying around in a mess. An eye sore if it bothers you. They do have a restroom in back but one needs to dodge a couple of buckets used to collect dripping water from the AC units. But I'm not complaining as finding any restroom these days seems to be a difficult find. Service is not the best and for a small business I would think they would put more effort into service. A quick hello, and sit anywhere while the menu is already on the table and posters hung all around the restaurant walls. You figure what you want. Water is offered. You may not see any service after that. The cashier hides behind the cash register and rather look at his phone than work any harder. You have walk up the cashier and pay. They don't come to you. And a tip is expected but not required. Often workers are on there cell phones while the cook does most of the work. Aside all those observations I'm just there to enjoy my meal and leave. I think they have a lot of potential if they put more effort in improving the quality in all these areas. read more

Ezogiku in the Waimalu shopping plaza is def not your authentic ramen, it's more like a "fast food" ramen but it's so UNDERRATED!! It's been a favorite since I was a little kid for those quick ramen cravings! The menu is so big you can always find something good! The ankake ramen is my fave!! It's seafood & vegetable (shrimp, fish, ika, cabbage, carrot, shiitake mushroom, etc) in a thick gravy over broth and noodles (ask for it spicy!!) You can have the same gravy on top of crispy noodle too! Yummy! And I love their gomoku ramen too because I just love my ramen with tons of veggies inside! read more

The ramen was simple but delicious and hit the spot. Fried rice was also very good and fresh. For the Price, they give a good amount of food that leaves you satisfied. Casual anykine Sapporo style ramen. I like the miso and shoyu ramen combos. Their fried rice is awesome one of the best I had in aiea. Gyoza is good too. The young asian girls are friendly when paying. The miso ramen broth is good and savory better than the Chinese run ramen copycats around aiea. The original owner is Japanese but not sure if it's franchise owned nowadays? The founder is from Japan and the ramen served is from Sapporo Hokkaido. Located in a strip mall with all kinds of local and O.G. food spots that look like they've been there for a while. Love the counter seating and the tables. It really has that mom and pops feel to it. Wife's miso ramen was a little strong and rich for my taste but still good. The side of giyozas were BOMB! I had the katsu curry, which tasted reminiscent of curry I've had in Japan; it tasted really authentic. Best of all, total bill came out to about $30 with tip included. My friend recommended this place to us. Prior to coming here, my friend bought beer at a near by liquor store and kept it in my car. When we walked in, my friend asked if this place was BYOB. I looked through the menu, but wasn't sure of what to get. I asked the lady what was popular. She recommended me the garlic shrimp ramen. Funny, cuz there was a huge sign right in front of me advertising it. Interested, I ended up ordering it along with gyoza and fried rice. I was so glad that she recommended the garlic shrimp ramen becuase it was so good. I loved the garlic shrimp flavor infuse with the broth. SO GOOD! As for the gyoza, it was like you average gyoza any other ramen shop has. As for the pork fried rice, it was on the smaller size of what I'm used to, but it was packed with flavor. Really good! We've been to just about every restaurant in this "restaurant row", but never Ezogiku so we thought we'd give it a try. Pulled up a seat, perused the menu for awhile, then I was stuck.....half of my opu was screaming RICE! Half of my opu screamed RAMEN!...Luckily for me, the lady behind the counter pointed to the specials board where there was a special combo featuring Shoyu Ramen, Gyoza and a Chicken Katsu Curry....SOLD! I figured they would be mini portions, but boy was I wrong! all this food was enough for two. The Ramen came first and the noodles were perfect without being mushy. The Broth was delicious and the Char siu was a nice bonus. The Gyoza and Katsu Curry came next. Crisp outside and juicy inside, the Gyoza disappeared pretty quickly. The Katsu Curry was just as good with a nice heat. The pickled veggies added a nice compliment. All this food for just under $11 wasn't too shabby at all. When worse comes to worse and my family can't agree on a place to eat, some ramen is always our go to. We had dinner a little later than normal, but still good. It was empty, with the owners (I'm assuming), which I enjoy more than a crowded place. My 9yo son MOPPED (ate all) his chicken katsu curry, and my 2yo son also ate all his fried rice & wanted to eat some of our ramen as well. It's always a good day when both boys eat good, so that always scores some brownie points with us. Ezogiku holds testament to the fact that good ramen doesn't need to break the bank! They have several ramen selections but I would definitely describe the style//taste as more simple than those fancy Tonkotsu type places like Agu and Gomatei that are more expensive. My fave thing to order would have to be their combos because you get a variety of good portioned food for less than $10. Selections include ramen, gyoza, curry rice, fried rice. I love their gyoza and fried rice especially. It's also easy and fast to order takeout in person. read more

This place has been here forever and it's always so consistently good. I came by today after a busy day at work and the place is empty I'm the only one eating in, no music no tv no fluff needed. And it's pretty simple, ramen comes with a fish cake and charsiu but it's so good, doesn't need more. It's so peaceful being here, it's just me, the waitress and uncle making gyozas. I ordered the mini combo set B and jumbo gyoza. And that's what I love about this place, they got the noodles and the gyoza right. Usually I'm an iPad kid when I eat but once I started eating I forgot all about needing entertainment scrolling on my phone, I just ate. I ate and ate until the food was all gone. "It's a peaceful Saturday afternoon and im here eating some of the same favorite food I had years ago when I was a elementary school kid" is pretty much amongst the things I thought to myself while I was eating. I'm Naruto and this is my Ichiraku. Ramen ya and Daichi ramen could never, may be convenient but not worth it to me. You want good affordable ramen and gyoza done right, you make the drive here. This Pearl City location is very close to my Sunday zumba class, so I decided to stop in for a bowl of wonton ramen on my way home. The soup broth didn't have much depth of flavor and tasted mostly like shoyu. The wontons were not very meaty and had very thick skins. The noodles had a pleasant chewy texture, though, and it was served piping hot, as it should be. For $8.45, I was not disappointed. I doctored it up with chili oil and pepper and enjoyed my meal. I also noticed they have combo meals; a small ramen, rice bowl, and gyoza for 12.00. I'll definitely try a combo meal next time. I honestly wasn't excited to come here. The shopping mall is a bit old, and I just enjoyed ramen from one of the top ramen restaurants in Honolulu the night before. But we had a $25 gift certificate for the shopping mall that we needed to use up, and we're hardly in the area, so we decided to treat ourselves for lunch. The prices are pretty outrageous here - $7.25 for a won ton ramen or udon, and only $3.75 more for 4 gyoza and a mini fried rice?! All my carby favorites all for me for such a low price! My mom and I each got the combo, as we were really hungry, but my mom wasn't able to finish half her food even after giving a lot to my daughter. My husband got the kim chee ramen, and he was very happy with the plentiful beansprouts and kim chee in the soup. The food was enjoyable, and the service was great. The waitress came running out with a new spoon when she heard a clanging sound and us scolding our daughter for dropping it. Fresh and chewy gyoza with homemade filling, not frozen. Fried rice very flavorful. Small shop with ample parking outside, there dishes are priced well for the portions they give. I personally like this location better as the pearl city one doesn't offer the sweet and tender mochiko chicken. Very good! Waimalu has many and one gives you a lot of bang for your buck! Price for a bowl of ramen is about $8.50 (Average). They also have Crispy Fried Noodles, Fried Rice and Gyoza! I personally recommend the Mabo Tofu Ramen (a little on the spicy side), along with the 3 item combo which has the Ramen, 4-piece Gyoza, and Mini Charsiu Pork Fried Rice! Came late on a Saturday night and was pleasantly surprised. I wasn't expecting much that late in the day and the place is quite dated when you walk in. First impression was that oh boy, this is going to be bad, looks like a dump. However, after sitting down and realizing that it was family run (the grandfather was cooking, grandmother was in the back, daughter waited on me, granddaughter helped her because she didn't speak much English), I found out that this place is actually a hidden gem. The employees were nice, the prices are cheap and the food was hot, fresh and delicious!! I got a ramen combo with fried rice and some fried noodles. Really tasty.
