I was completely satisfied with my two weeks of intensive beginning German classes. The teacher, Lidia, moved us quickly and thoroughly through the material. It was important to spend as much time out of class studying as in class, if not more. The textbooks covered one topic at at time so we didn't get bogged down in the grammar right away. The course taught the material from many angles: reading, listening, and speaking. Lidia brought in games and lightened up the course with jokes we could mostly understand. After two weeks, or 40 hours, I know enough to practice speaking German. It was fun. I only regret that I could not stay in Heidelberg to continue the course. read more
