I've been a member of F45 Pasadena since 2019. While I always enjoyed the challenging workouts, staying consistent was difficult for me for a number of reasons. That all changed when the new ownership took over. Since then, being part of this studio has completely transformed the way I approach fitness. Working out has become an important, and genuinely enjoyable part of my daily routine. The coaches consistently offer encouragement, helpful corrections, and new challenges that push me to become a better version of myself, both physically and mentally. Training alongside the coaches and fellow members is now something I truly look forward to every day. I'm incredibly grateful for the positive energy, motivation, and support that Gabe and the entire coaching team (Yesy, Eugon, Jalen, Mike, Michael, Vincent, Cameron, and Steven) bring to the studio. F45 Pasadena wouldn't be the same without them; they're truly what sets this studio apart from other F45 franchises.

    Blue team

Joining F45 Pasadena was one of the best decisions I've made for my physical and mental health. I rarely leave reviews, but this one feels mandatory. I hope it helps people who might be hesitant about joining F45--especially those dealing with past injuries or health concerns and wondering if these classes are right for them, or those who may be intimidated. Three years ago, I had a serious horseback riding accident that left part of my back broken. I went through two years of physical therapy on and off, and eventually realized that to support my back (and my 50-year-old woman changing body!), I needed to rebuild my core and strengthen my body. I tried joining a gym, but without structure or motivation, I stopped going after a few weeks. I also tried various fitness classes, but nothing really clicked. I had heard about F45 from friends in the UK and had walked past F45 Pasadena several times, but I was too intimidated to walk in--until three months ago, when I finally pushed myself to do it. It was one of the best decisions I've made for my physical and mental health. I explained my back issues, and Coach Melissa (you are dearly missed) immediately reassured me. That same evening, I signed up for a week trial and attended three classes. I was hooked. So hooked that I signed up for a yearly contract! First, I felt incredibly safe. The coaches know about people's injuries or limitations, check your form carefully, and offer adaptations when needed. Second, the atmosphere is unbelievably welcoming. From Gabe, the owner, to all the coaches who make you feel part of the family, to the members themselves--people from all levels of fitness--everyone is supportive and encouraging. There is absolutely no judgment. There's no pressure to look a certain way or lift a certain amount. The coaches also know when to challenge you, which I really appreciate (thanks, Gabe, I appreciate you!). What I found at F45 Pasadena is motivation and consistency. In three months, I haven't missed a single week of my three classes--even when work or life gets busy. I found a program that keeps me engaged, challenges me, and helps me grow. But most importantly, I found a community. Gabe and Michelle have created something special, organizing opportunities to connect beyond workouts--picnics, run clubs, social media support, and more. And I'm always looking forward to my classes and seeing people's smiles and cheers. And I can't finish this review without a shoutout to Yesy--one of the most dedicated, supportive, and encouraging coaches. She leads with both expertise and humor, and can even become your hiking buddy. If you're hesitating--especially because of past injuries or intimidation about walking into a gym--I truly encourage you to give F45 Pasadena a try. It might just change more than your fitness routine. I'm so grateful for everyone at F45 Pasadena.

Gabriel has built a strong team with a fun community. I appreciated the accommodations for my workout as well as the hospitality. I can tell they're tight knit, but very welcoming at F45 Pasadena. Definitely plan on passing through again when the opportunity comes up. They also have some of the coolest studio shirts in the network so I had to grab one before I left.

What a fun workout experience! And everyone here was so genuinely friendly and wanted to help! I struggled a little with my flimsy muscles but I got a good workout in and I was able to work on my form. I really hope I can come back in a cardio day.

Committing to just one gym is difficult when each person goes through their productive, creative, or hibernation periods. I've wanted a place that made me look forward to going and not finding reasons to skip out. After some time with ClassPass, a 45-day workout challenge and a dozen-full of memorable buddy pass classes later, I finally made a decision I've been happy with since. Basecamp for the win. Love their lower to upper to full body workout schedule, the alternation between cardio and strength, the change/rotation of class layouts, their equipment, and of course, the instructors and team themselves. Special appreciation for the 9am goers because they became a solid community for me when I was going through some post-grad life transitions and turbulence. Somehow, when I was considering what to properly invest in while sacrificing to save money from other things, this was a good alternative investment that has sparked back some love for workout classes again. Well-deserved shout outs to Coaches Nick, Jacqueline, and Oliver and the front desk team. If you're looking for a motivating space, it's a good place for a comeback and a fresh start. In fact, there's one right across the street from this location I would recommend (I'll leave it up to you to Google it). If you're looking for the best classic style Crossfit gym, then definitely don't go here. This place is only but a shadow of its former self. Since the current owners unaffiliated the gym from the brand, the programming and membership has taken a sharp decline. They incorporated classes that resembled more of a base camp or something Hyrox adjacent. No one really cared about the brand of CrossFit, we cared for the workouts, and sadly those are long gone. Feedback that was given to the owners went ignored for too long and eventually it became too late. There's been a mass exodus of loyal and competitive members since then and the atmosphere just doesn't feel the same anymore. The demographic currently trends to an older age group and less competitive/advanced. Those aren't necessarily bad things but it might certainly might alter your preference.

Our session was good, but I needed time to deliberate before moving forward - it was a bit commitment and I needed some time to reflect. The trainer got incredibly heated, first going on about how great his services were compared to everyone else and then shaming me for not committing on the spot and wasting his time. I let the trainer know that I am unemployed and rely on my parents for financial support, so I needed to deliberate with them before proceeding further. I felt belittled for communicating my needs, and received harsh criticism from the trainer about being "a waste of time." It should be noted that on the website, the first session is advertised as a "no obligation free workout." But the session took place in a paid gym. He paid for the day pass, which I was very grateful for, but upon completion, I refunded the money back. Still, I continued to receive verbal abuse from the trainer post session (see screenshot below) Final thoughts: don't offer no-commitment complimentary sessions on your website if you're gonna accuse people of wasting your time and shame clients. UPDATE: I've continued to be harassed by the trainer. Completely unprofessional.

What is it that they can tell me to do that I don't already know how to do? .... A LOT! For someone who went to the gym consistently, saw progress but not the kind of progress I was aiming for, it was a real downer. So when the opportunity came for me to be able to work with Q, I took it! I came in and first he kind of let me do my own work out. I thought... "what is this?" He watched me as I did some lat pulldowns. I did like 6 reps and he stopped me. My first thought, "he's going to tell me I'm doing it wrong"... typical, what most trainers do... but ... NO!!!! He showed me how to correctly position my back, the depth I should be pulling down as well as the speed and WHY... this was so important to me, and should be what you want in a trainer. You should always want to know why you're doing something! Q wants you to learn. He wants you to learn how to move and form correctly so that one, you don't injure yourself, two, you get the most out of your workout and see the results, and three, so that you won't need him again! Wow! What kind of honesty is this!? This really blew my mind. The goal is to get you to your goal plus knowledge on how to continue your progression Knowing that he really wanted to help me reach my goals by teaching me rather than telling me what to do made all the difference. Although I had some pride about how to lift some weights, he was very professional in his approach in teaching me how to do it properly. This was another thing, He did not belittle me, or make me feel dumb for doing things wrong. He made me feel comfortable while working a sweat! If you're looking for someone who you want to just put you through a workout, I guess it doesn't matter which trainer you go to, but if you're really looking to change yourself and learn why you're doing what your doing , I would highly recommend Q. The question that he asked me that I'll probably always remember is " do want to lose weight or do you want to look like you lost weight?" now I never thought about it, but they are two completely different things. He can definitely help you achieve either one, but I chose the later. I wanted to look like I lost weight. So here I am, 5'2 at 163lbs, stronger, healthier and loving it!!!

Because I did the late March-Early April camp it was DARK at 6am due to daylight savings. And Yes I went MWF from 6am-715am which gave me plenty of time to shower and get ready for work. This boot camp is great because the instructors provide an outline for the exercises and you can go at your own pace. I loved this freedom because it gave me some flexibility too focus on my exercise goals. I didn't want to lose weight per se but I wanted to tone. So I cut back on the running and really focused on the shaping exercises Yea technically you can do all this stuff for free on your own but most people DON'T so I think it was worth every penny spent because it gave me the structure and motivation to get active. And Michael was a great motivator. He was very demanding and kept you moving from start to finish. After the five weeks I did notice my tummy was much more toned and my thighs had slimmed down. I arrived just 1 minute past the grace period, and the front desk staff member immediately told me I had to reschedule -- in a manner that came across as unnecessarily rude and unwelcoming. Looking back, there were already signs this studio was not well-organized. I was contacted multiple times to confirm my class -- I confirmed the first time, but still received additional calls, a voicemail, and another text. That level of follow-up felt excessive and unnecessary. On top of that: - The studio does not have its own parking lot, which makes arriving on time difficult. This was the reason I was 1 minute late. - I'm a frequent guest at Barry's Pasadena, Sanctuary Fitness, F45, and Lagree. None of them require a 30-minute early arrival for first-timers. The standard at other studios is a 15-minute check-in, and even then they are far more flexible. - When I arrived, the class before mine was still wrapping up, which makes me question what, realistically, I would have been shown if I had been exactly on time. I was genuinely looking forward to trying this class with my friend, but between the overly strict policy, disorganized communication, lack of parking, and the unfriendly welcome, this studio does not compare well to others in the area.
