I've had a pool built 15 years ago. In that time, I have had at 7-10 different pool companies or guys service my pool. Of those companies, I have only "fired" two companies. A few things I've learned. Pool guys sell their routes. This is why I ended up with so many different guys. If your pool is sold, take quick inventory of the new guys work and fire if needed. If the chemicals are included in your monthly cost, the pool guy will naturally skimp to save money and you'll be frustrated by a pool that is on the verge of turning every week. My advice, pay only for the service, have tablets available and agree to pay cost for any extra chemicals needed. Large pool service companies have a high employee turnover. Do not hire a company that has guys working for them. Hire only owner operators. They have a vested interest in keeping your pool clean, their livelihood depends on it. Help your pool guy out, it helps you out. Spend 15 mins a week and skim stuff out of your pool. On those windy, get stuff out of your pool, doesn't have to be perfect, it keeps your chlorine consumption way down. Keep liquid chlorine available at all times. As clean as you think you and your family and friends are...... you are not. After using the pool, pour 1/2 gallon of liquid chlorine into the pool. If you have a party, pour the whole damn gallon. Long winded, I know.... Fabio service is by far the best pool service I have ever had. EVER. He is an owner operator, extremely punctual, leaves my pool spotless, does small repairs for free and I am lucky to have found him. I have suffered through so many summer days where I was just so frustrated by a pool on the verge of turning green, never happens with Fabio. read more

Rating based on early interactions only. I have hired a pool cleaning service thru another company but I wanted to rate Fabio's based on my initial interactions. I requested a quote/service thru a few companies and Fabio's is one of the only companies that responded. Not did I receive a response, I received it in less than 24hrs. And it was all inclusive providing a breakdown of charges and ranges for different packages I could select. The communication was professional and comprehensive allowing me to make a decision quickly. Ultimately, I decided on another provider that I'd met with in person and the monthly cost was the same. For context, I purchased a home with a pool about 3 years ago. I had never owned a pool, and I stuck with the existing pool provider for simplicity and continuity. Fast forward, and I've had several service issues and have decided I'd like to take on pool maintenance on my own. I bought a book about pool maintenance and curated a pretty solid list of resources online, but I wanted to do a sanity check with a trustworthy professional before making the leap. I found Fabio on Yelp, and after reading his universally positive reviews, I contacted him to do a one-time orientation with me about my pool and equipment. Fabio stopped by and gave me a full hour of his time to go through a litany of questions. We covered everything from how to remove certain pool stains, replacing mastic, pool chemistry, pool equipment, routine maintenance and seasonality, and more. He gave me an incredible amount of information, and most importantly, he presented it in a very palatable way that I could understand. He was a great sounding board to fact-check what I was able to teach myself, but he gave me a lot of new information as well. He was very transparent about pricing, where to find deals, where you should and should not try to save money, what things would be better left to a professional versus a DIYer, etc. I feel really confident about taking on the maintenance now, and I know I have Fabio as a solid safety net if I get in over my head (pun intended). I went back and forth on whether or not I'd mention this last part: he didn't charge me anything. I literally begged him to take my money. He's culminated a massive amount of knowledge through all of his experience, and I hate the fact that he imparted so much of that knowledge on me with nothing in return. He insisted that the orientation service is something he doesn't typically charge for, and it's his way of giving back to the community and earning trust. I hesitate to bring it up, because I don't want folks on Yelp thinking that Fabio works for free. I may resort to intentionally breaking a piece of pool equipment so that he can fix it and be obligated to accept a payment from me, haha! I compared 10 quotes from pool service companies on Yelp,and they all charged much more than Fabio does for the same services!!! So for someone like me who lives on a fixed income and is disabled as I am,I couldnt have found anyone better than Fabio based on price alone. But price isn't everything if the service isn't done right.So to find someone who is unlike any other pool service professional I have ever dealt with over the past 14 yrs,who encompasses both great price,great service,and a great personality was truly a rare find. I originally hired Fabio to clean my pump filters and salt cell,but plans changed when he took one look at them and advised me that it was time to replace my 4 worn out cartridges,which my last pool guy never even told me to replace over years of service.Not only did Fabio find me low-cost filters to purchase online but he also inspected my salt cell,which I basically gave up on using because it never produced chlorine.My last pool service guy used muriatic acid to clean the mineral build-up and preceded to charge me $50 each time to clean the cell,never telling me how much salt to add.So I assumed it was never going to work cuz it never did,but then when Fabio did a water analysis and inspected the cell,he immediately could tell that I needed 5 bags of salt,even though I told him that I had just added 3 bags recently. So I had my handyman pick up those 5 bgs and by the time the new cartridges arrived,Fabio came right back over to replaced them.Later that day I added those 5 bags of salt,and ran the pump 24 hrs as Fabio instructed,and to my amazement the next day the cell read " Output 100%." So now,hopefully,I won't need to depend on using so many chlorine tablets to regulate the chlorine level. I also noticed that my pool vacuum had just stopped working suddenly a few days before I originally contacted Fabio.I explained to him that I thought it was due to the ash that the vacuum sucked up after the fires we had.I figured the filters were just clogged up,causing the vacuum to stop functioning.But Fabio went a step farther to investigate & opened up the vacuum which led him to discover that it had sucked up a broken clip (which broke off my pool brush handle previously).A simple fix,but most pool guys wouldn't even bother investigating the issue without charge extra to fix vacuums.Fabio goes the extra mile. The new cartridges have already helped improve my water circulation & I now believe the old ones were the reason why I experienced such a bad algae problem over the summer.My pool looks sparkling clean once again but the most amazing part of this whole experience was what Fabio said to me when it came time to pay.I said "How much do I owe you (since he had replaced the filters instead of having to clean them"? Fabio looked me in the eyes and said "What would you like to pay me? What do you think is fair? I just want you to be happy!" What? Who says this? He is absolutely one of a kind!! To find someone who is not only excellent at their job but who also prides themselves on charging what is fair,whose satisfaction comes from making the customer happy as opposed to overcharging customers to make his pockets happy,is a rare find!! Fabio was initially reasonably priced and he arrived to perform the pool service when he said he would. The pool was very clean from his weekly cleanings. He was also responsive to texts when I had questions. Unfortunately, two months after Fabio started the pool service he said that he would need to increase the price of his service significantly, beyond what I thought was reasonable. I was disappointed in this. He did a good job, but his pricing changed significantly only two months into the job. I can understand if he underestimated the effort to clean the pool, and I would've been reasonable with regards to increases, but the increase he sought was 100% higher than what we agreed to initially. We found Fabio on yelp and decided to give him a call based on all of the great reviews. We are so happy we did! We are first time pool owners and were clueless as to how to maintain a pool. He showed up that week and we have been using him now for 9 months. He is fabulous! Very polite and knowledgeable. Our pool started getting algae and because we had just moved in, we weren't sure when it had been drained and cleaned last. He suggested an acid wash. It made a huge difference! The vacuum in our pool was old and starting to fall apart. He suggested a very affordable vacuum from Amazon that we ordered. I bought a house with an in ground Spa and Pool mid-April in Murrieta. Having never owned a pool before, it was intimidating to see the piping and equipment without even getting into chemical lingo. I knew i wanted to convert my pool to a salt water chlorination system, but i wanted an overview of my system that Fabio seems to help yelpers with that. I contacted Fabio based in many reviews here and he did not disappoint, coordinating the visit was a bit challenging, but its just the fact that he's really busy. Once in my house he arrived with a smile, took a look at my system and gave me a rundown of how things worked. I asked about maintenance and cleaning since I wanted to do it myself and he recommended a suction cleaner that was affordable on amazon. I was worried he would not install something I had bought in the internet like many pool companies do, but Fabio had no problem he quoted a flat price for install and said "Buy it on amazon their price is amazing". After about 20 minutes I was expecting to pay him for his time, fuel and knowledge and he refused. He said he could not get himself to charge for advise. I will definitely call him when I install my saltwater cell or if I have any hiccups with chemicals. This guy is honest, approachable and definitely values customer service. I decided to write this review ( I hardly write reviews) after seeing the last review (which reads more like a tragic novel from Shakespeare...with follow ups and chapters) I am sure many yelpers like me know how to discern between "extreme sob story reviews" and the majority of reviews. After reading the review posted here by Jenna, I asked Arenzon Pool Service to look at the pool of a home we had just purchased. (I have to admit that Fabio's name added a little to the picture.) I was told it would cost me thousands to get it in shape because algae had been allowed to grow in it. Fabio told me he could take care of it with little expense. For the first week, he came out every day to work on it and after about a week it was looking crystal clear and beautiful. He continues to come once a week to service it, and it is the image that makes my day when I first get up and look outside. Been having issues with water not circulating through pool and was stumped not knowing how to solve the problem. I was apprehensive on calling for outside help because I didn't really want to get hoses and taken for a financial ride. I usually do all the maintenance solo. The pool water started going south fast now that the warm weather is here. Algae growing and the chemistry out of wack. I then turned to yelp and found Fabio and he was at my pad on a schedule time. With a turn off the lever the pool came back alive! I offered to pay Him which he refused and claims he doesn't charge for advise. What a gentleman and a scholar Fabio is! We decided to go for a top of the range salt above ground pool from The Pool Factory. Once installed we called Fabio to see if he would mind coming out to get the machinery up and running for us. Not only did he do that but he spent 30-45 minutes talking us through how to turn it on, how to maintain it, how often to run it, how to clean it, what to exchange and when. I felt like an expert when he left. He was extraordinarily polite and professional and I felt like I was talking to an old friend, and that if he wasn't an old friend I really wanted him to be a new friend! And, for all he did there was no charge. Unbelievable. He wanted us to be happy with our pool, and to know in the future we could call him for any help. To me, this is old style service - build your business by your actions, by the way you treat people, and by your honesty. When the good reviews out weight the bad 30-1 or more, I'm willing to give a guy a chance. I'm pleased that I did. Fabio was very polite, and had an idea of why my equipment wasn't functioning. He even told me that if the out wasn't the part he thought it was, he wouldn't charge me for it. Since I wasn't putting anything out of pocket myself, why not? He came back the next day, Earlier than expected and now my pool is back to running in this 100 degree heat.
