This is one of those meals I'm gonna miss when I get back to the US. Was attempting to eat at Moderato next door but was turned away as they were fully booked. Tried Fabrik on a whim and man did I get lucky! When we arrived around 6:30 it was empty but quickly filled up- mostly with locals. Probably the nicest waiter I experienced during this trip as well. The restaurant is trendy- almost upscale hipster without the stink of trying too hard, large windows give lots of a great seating for people watching.
Drink:
La Cheuffe IPA- recommended by our waiter, great hoppy beer.
Dark & Stormy- a bit on the sweet side but really a nice refreshing cocktail with a hint of ginger
Food:
Manchego appetizer- pretty basic, slices of manchego with a small arugula salad. Was expecting a little more (maybe some olives) but didn't actually miss it as the cheese was drizzled with olive oil and pepper that was a great addition.
Steak platter- one star off for this dish, overall was tasty but meat was over cooked and a bit cold (maybe it was supposed to be?). Came with fresh well cooked veggies that were a bit on the cold side as well. All that being said the plate with not remain uneaten...
Goat cheese salad- I did a happy dance when this arrived. It had a small wheel of goat cheese on top of the well dressed salad with balsamic and walnuts drizzled on the warm cheese. I could probably eat this every day and am not ashamed to admit I ate every bite.
Onion rings- fair, but not a must get. A bit too crunchy on the batter but the jalapeño dipping sauce a nice twist and some good flavor.
Overall: highly recommend for a nice evening and good location away from the touristy spots. Dinner + drinks- approx 50 euro. read more
