Another person walked in and they asked if he had been helped. In helping him they asked if he had an appointment. I asked if this was appointment only. They said yes. At no place did they have a sign that says that they are appointment only. I'm sure they are a good shop because they were busy but maybe ask that first before trying to sell me valentine candies.

He gives an unmatched haircut and pays great attention to detail. Even tops it off with a true straight razor shave of your neck. The atmosphere is great with Sinatra playing and giving you an experience of the days when a trip to the barber was more than just a haircut. The waiting area has big overstuffed leather chairs and features a train that travels around the ceiling. My boys love waiting their turn to sit in the chair. Great barber, excellent atmosphere and all at a terrific price. I have found a gem hidden away in Winchester and he has a lifetime customer. I highly recommend this shop.

Proprietor, first-chair barber, and total gentleman John Landis gave me an excellent cut (on a long-overdue mop of hair) accompanied by interesting, engaging conversation, for a very reasonable price. I would've appreciated more check-ins, like asking if everything felt okay or if I had any specific concerns (for example, areas like calluses that I wanted extra attention on). But it instilled in me, a great distrust for the English language. Louis, the proprietor of Central Barber Shop, has been cutting hair for well over 40 years. For the exact number, you'd have to ask him. I'm sure he'd be obliged to answer and discuss any number of topics, or give you advice as any good, ol' time barber should. If you think that Woodstock resembles Mayberry, then you should step into Central Barber Shop and meet Floyd's doppelganger. The resemblance is uncanny. Not only do they look alike, but they treat their clientele the same. People have been coming to Louis all of their lives (if I still lived in Woodstock, I'd be one of them). Back in the day, there wasn't much competition; sure now theres dozen's of other quafferies to choose from, but Central Barber Shop is more than just a place to get your haircut- Its a familiar face. It's that nostalgia that you cant seem to find anymore in todays hustle-and-bustle, instant gratification society. It's that warm, smothering hug from your grandmother. The loyal, gray-faced black lab who meets you at the door when you come home from a long day. That old elm tree you used to climb on and nap under on those hot summer afternoons... Sure, you don't get that gratis' straight-razored, hot shaving cream shave on the back of the neck anymore. But you do get that traditional "ears-lowered" cut that was good enough for your father, and your grandfather, and is still good enough for you. Thanks for staying true, Lou. Central Barbershop now has some fresh paint but still preserves that olde time feel we all came to love. Lori does a fine job cutting hair and is quite meticulous giving whatever style you want and with skillful hands. She now offers the option of having a shampoo haircut combination. I think this might be popular with the ladies who stop in for a trim. The other good news is that Lori has expanded her hours to six days a week. For some of us it was getting mighty hard to catch Louis on the job. I recently had my first visit and found Lori to be full of personality and fun to talk with while getting my haircut. It has always been tough for me to get a good cut because my hair is so wavy but looking in the mirror two days later I'm pretty impressed and so is my darling wife. Lori says she will be ready to accept credit cards soon and will be bringing back the time honored tradition of hot shaving cream trim.
