It's a typical gift shop but one with hand crafted ceramics. The saucers and cups are glossed with lovely rich shades. I couldn't carry them home in my suitcase but did have space for a magnet. The shopkeeper, who is also the ceramic artist, is really nice!

I love to cook so first order of business when I am here in Lucca is buy our groceries. We tend to overstock in USA but here just buy what you need for a few days so they are fresh. The chicken taste much better ; seems like not a lot of hormones and chemicals in their products. Milk are quart sizes not in gallons!! Prices are reasonable especially scondo/ sales items. If you are living from inside the wall it is a bit of distance if you don't have a car. You can go to smaller market inside the wall at Tambellini near piazza san frediano and anfitreatro. Smaller selection; that's all you need.
