He commands respect and runs a tight ship, but his bedside manner with patients is so compassionate. I had an outpatient procedure & felt good, so I didn't think I needed my pain medicine. I figured I'd wait til it hurt. Wrong. This was when you got pills; long before they sent a pain pump home. When I called the answering service at 2am, Bahrani called me back & told me to go to the ER for pain help. At 2:30am, this doctor drove & met me at the ER, had a pain pump connected immediately in ER & had me settled in a room. Then he went & completed paperwork to admit me for pain management & observation. The IV pain pump got things under control & I learned to stay ahead of the pain when coming out of surgery. This was my first surgery & Ive never forgotten that lesson. Truly caring doctor!!!

He performed a TLIF and decompression of my nerves and I was up the same day and the pain was gone. Because of the way he performed the surgery (minimally invasive), I was back to work in 2 weeks. He and his staff, Sandra, Courtney and Victoria were awesome. So friendly and responsive. Dr. Barkoh takes his time and answers every question you have and doesn't rush you. However, checking I also found out that , his office worker Ana Rodriguez was a mean and aggressive representative of his office. She was lethal to work with to prepare for upcoming surgery. She actually canceled the surgery and said don't call back. As I looked further, Dr. Blackwell has perfect and incredible reviews from patients, however, there was so many remarks about this member of his office staff and it was Ana Rodriguez. I ask to get a message to him and saying he will not get my message and to not call back. What?? I retrieved my MRI from the facility he sent me to and have an appointment a Texas Orthopaedics.

It is so swollen I still cannot even get a sock on it to this day. I finally go in again to see him, and all his office staff can do is belittle me make me feel like a complete waste of skin, that can't even pay his own bills. But like I told them I can't even put a shoe on this foot, how am I supposed to go back to my job now. Can't buy Christmas present, don't know if I can even pay next month's rent! And it's come down to a choice of food and Medicine. So I can't afford physical therapy, and now I don't even have a doctor I could go to. Stay away, only cares about money, not people.
