In Downtown area a great option for a hotel. This is a two hotel brand in one building, so it was interesting. Spring hill on one side and fairfield on the other, both Marriott Bonvoy brands. All check-in was done on the springhill side counter which is the first check in you walk into from the parking area. Room was big and comfortable, it has a shower tub med to small size. Continental breakfast is included and most of the service was great. Some were just barely there for customer service but overall a great value stay for me and I'd stay here again of needed. read more

Don't get me wrong, the location is excellent, the price is great, and there's parking for $19 a day. Unfortunately the service and inconsistent information received was whack. We booked thru a third party for an executive suite 1 BR. We arrived later and the Fairfield front desk isn't open, everything thru the Springhills side. We realized the room they gave us was a regular king. I went to the front desk to inquire and the front desk guy was like, there's no such room, it doesn't exist. I was like, I'm on the Marriot website and they do have the executive suite and I booked it and showed him my confirmation with the words "executive suite 1BR". He was like it's the regular king you booked, Fairfield doesn't have any suites and I have never seen that website. (It's Marriott.com btw). I showed him the pictures on the website. He still didn't believe me and after just said come back in the morning to speak with the manager. I came back and spoke with Nikki instead. She was amazing. She said yes, we do have that room but they are all under construction and someone should have emailed us. I told her about the front desk guy from last night and she said he should know better because he's been with the company for 10 years! She tried to compensate us for the room we should have gotten but couldn't because we booked thru a third party. She let us pick some items from their market instead. She seems to know her information and was really helpful and great. Rooms: old, dirty and uncomfortable. Bad decor with bright ugly colors. The bed was really lumpy and soft. He room was either super warm or cold. At least we know both extremes were working. Carpet was stained and so was the shower. Older room for sure. Had a mini fridge and microwave. Our bolt lock was broken. Also had key issues. Breakfast: space eggs (fake) eggs, sausage Links or patties, fresh fruit, cereal, hard croissant, yogurt, hard boil eggs. No waffle machines. Pretty decent besides the space scramble eggs. Sat/Sun opens 7-10, weekdays 6:30-9:30. If you're looking to save some money but expect what you pay for, low quality rooms and inconsistent service. read more

I came into town for business. When I first arrived Josh at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. I asked for dinner recommendations and he gave me several. Other than when I checked in I rarely saw anyone at the desk. Breakfast unfortunately was very disappointing. Eggs were strange. Bagels were hard. Coffee was cold. I did utilize the fitness center which had a decent amount of equipment. Room had this funky smell to it. Bed was decently comfortable. The parking lot is annoying to get in an out of because of the one way streets. The hotel suited my needs and if you don't mind eating elsewhere then it's a decent place. read more

UPDATE- we received a REFUND for our 3 night stay! stayed at the Fairfield Inn and Suites Downtown Louisville from Friday, October 1 until Monday, October 4th. We are platinum members, were given the executive suite and chose this hotel because it was highly rated. Nikki and Alex at the front desk were professional and tried to be helpful. We have stayed in many Marriott brands, we were shocked with what we experienced at this hotel. The Fairfield & Springhill appears to be two separate Marriott hotels but they are very interconnected. We checked in and out from the same lobby and shared the same laundry and breakfast facility. There was always only one person at the desk for the two hotels, there was usually a line and significant wait. Both hotels shared one breakfast buffet, It was dangerous. There were unsupervised kindergartners running around without shoes in pajamas, male soccer players & female basketball players all vying for food unmasked at the same time. Nobody was wearing masks, there was no social distancing and there was only one person trying to replenish and clean up. Young children were grabbing food with their hands and young adults were emptying platters of food onto their plates. There was a long line trying to get inside, usually the food trays were bare. However, the breakfast area in our Fairfield Inn was empty throughout our stay. To get to breakfast we had to take one elevator down, go to the other hotel and take an elevator up. The stairs let us outside of the hotel & did not open between floors. There were long lines for the two elevators. Besides adults waiting for the elevator, there were children without shoes in dripping wet bathing suits with blue lips, squeezing inside. There aren't towels at the pool nor in the gym. The floor was very wet and slippery. There was consistently a wait for the elevator with least eight others squeezed into the small elevator with us, unmasked each time. We said something about masks & were looked at like we had two heads. We were very uncomfortable and felt this was a dangerous situation as children are unvaccinated. We traveled, around and in Louisville for three days visiting many sites, everybody was wearing masks and socially distant this was not an issue any place else. Our rooms looked dirty, the walls were stained and the shower looked gross. In the hallways there were holes in the walls and garbage that remained there throughout our 3 night stay. The laundry room was filthy. There were no lights in the parking garage, even during the daytime it was very dark and dangerous. It was particularly tough to take things out of our car without lighting. Our executive suite was bare bones, We had to ask for extra towels, laundry bags and a blow dryer. No-one answer our phone calls so we had to cue up in the lobby and wait. Our room was so tight that I had to crawl out of bed. Some of the outlets didn't work, we had to pull furniture out to plug in our chargers. There was a Wi-Fi issue, we had to leave our phones near the door to get onto the internet. Every day we had to replace our room cards, they never seem to work for more than one day. There is a pandemic and we take our health and safety seriously. We believe the Fairfield Inn and Suites in Downtown Louisville jeopardized our health and safety. This was a very uncomfortable and upsetting hotel stay, attached are a few of the photographs demonstrating our concerns. Had we known the situation we would have stayed at another Marriott 2 blocks away. Nothing wrong with the room. It was a little cheaper to stay here than closer to the convention center so it was a better choice if you don't mind the walk. Staff was friendly. Bed was comfy but the pillows were a little too flat for my taste. For the price, you could do a lot worse. read more

This was, by far our best stay while we visited Kentucky. You have to pay for parking ($19), not bad, I'm from Chicago, so that is a GREAT price for parking. The breakfast, that sucked. We stayed here for the first time and were very disappointed. We ended up finding hair all over the place, but it was too late to switch rooms since the hotel was booked. Because of COVID, they won't come into the room and told us they could give us supplies to clean it ourselves. This Fairfield Mariott was not my favorite hotel ever. In fact, of the 3 I stayed at on this leg of a trip (back to back to back) it was by far my least favorite. Mind you, it's not a fleabag so I'm not giving it 1 star or anything. It was pretty clean, felt safe, and was in a decent location. My main complaints are that they charge $20 for parking (not included in your reservation), the AC didn't work so great as it stayed hot the entire time we were there, the bed was pretty hard, the pillows small, the shower could have used a scrub. Booked one night here for 3 people with the understanding it would have 2 queen beds and we could get a roll away bed. Turns out you can't put a roll away bed in a room with 2 queen beds. The very nice lady behind the counter quickly offered to move us over to the Springhill Suites where we could get a suite with a pull out couch at no extra charge. The room more than met our expectations and we enjoyed our stay. If every business conducted themselves with such attentive quality customer service we would all be better off. read more

Traffic noise can be an issue if your room is on the side of the highway There are a couple Marriott properties within a two block radius, it's upsetting that there isn't an airport shuttle service. One of the worst experience possible. I arrived late at 1am because my luggage got lost. So they put me in the worst room possible which shared a wall with the kitchen and next to the breakfast. I asked for a different room which they would not let me even though there were other rooms. I said fine but I want to change next morning which the guy said yes. Next morning after being awaken at 6am by the kitchen worker, I asked to change to another room. Amanda aka manager told me I can't change because she is full. I asked if I can change later as people check out. She said no. And said she refuse to change because switching rooms is not allowed. I told her I have stayed at Marriott all over the world over 120 times and no has ever said switching was not allowed. She yelled tough luck. I told her to cancel me for that day which she initially refused and quoted me cancellation policy which I told her don't applied because the room she provided was unacceptable. She finally agreed to let me cancel and told me to fuck off. read more

It wasn't the worst place... but wasn't the best place to stay at. Note: I stayed here because of the KY Derby Half Marathon. The start line AND convention is very close to this hotel. So, if you're doing the KY Derby Half, this place is good for you. Not insanely expensive, but kinda outdated place. Parking - 19 bucks. I can't complain. They had a parking deck. Service was OK - I only stayed 1 night. - When I arrived, they only had 1 person working up front when there were like 2-3 parties checking in. It took awhile, but it is OK! I know currently there are labor shortages. I totally understand. - The rooms were decently sized, but you can tell it was very outdated. I was just happy the bathroom had a door and pretty big itself. If you want nice things and expect amazing updated stuff - this hotel is not for you. - Fridge wasn't working, so I asked the front desk for help. Guy came maybe 20 minutes later. The guy said it was working full speed but clearly the coldness was not there. I told him I'd check it again after dinner. ....after dinner, I see a new fridge. I was happy they changed it, BUT I WAS NOT IN THE ROOM. I'm pretty sure they just walked on in w/o any notice. I also had all my personal belongings just laying out, so I felt a tad uncomfortable staying there. I get it, they fixed the problem. But they should have called me or at least let me come back/be around when they exchanged the fridge. - They don't pick up phones from rooms. I had to constantly go downstairs. The only pro: - The front desk guy brought up our extra towels fairly quickly. read more

The bed might as well have been the floor, they only gave us one wash cloth, then ignored our request for a second one, lied about the pool being heated, and the bathtub was a death trap! Slick as snot and the handrail was on the wrong side of the tub, you had to shimmy between the toilet and tub to reach it. Not to mention the nasty stained carpeting everywhere. Just okay for a Fairfield property, likely would not stay again. First, this is an older property and is split with Springhill Suites - the same building with interconnecting floors, but separate entrances and check ins. The floor layouts are quite wonky - the wayfinding isn't great so its very easy to cross over to the other hotel and end up in the wrong lobby by mistake. The only real clue is the color change in the carpet - Springhill is green and Fairfield is orange. Second, as a few others have noted the A/C does not work well. I had it turned down to 65 yet it never got any colder than 74 in my room. Mind you, it was not a hot day so imagine what things would be like in high summer! I didn't check in until after 9pm and frankly, I was exhausted or I would have asked to be moved or for someone to fix it. On the plus side, I really did not hear any traffic noise despite the hotel being near the expressway. Third, the shower stall in my bathroom was gross! There was definite mold in the corners and part of the floor looked just plain dirty. I was tempted to wear my sandals, so it wasn't good. On the positive side, the staff I interacted with was very pleasant and the free breakfast was about what I'd expect from Fairfield (decent). Wifi is free and wasn't the fastest but I was able to connect. Again, had I arrived earlier I definitely would have asked for a room change but ultimately my first impression was "definitely staying somewhere else next time, especially for $189/night!!" read more

I stayed at this Fairfield Inn on a recent trip to Louisville. Marriott is one of the brands I prefer to stay at when I'm on the road. This one certainly didn't let me down. The hotel is located right downtown and is co-located with another Marriott property, SpingHill Suites. I was afraid that parking would be a problem (as it often is with downtown locations), but they have a guest registration parking right out front. The hotel also has a parking deck and private lot. The lobby is the standard Fairfield inn package. It's clean and inviting. The guy behind the desk was friendly and welcoming. He checked me in quickly and was able to help me with some local information. This is a great location, as it's only three blocks from Fourth Street Live, which is Louisville's restaurant and entertainment district. It's a short walk, and I never felt unsafe walking between the hotel and Fourth Street Live. The rooms, while not that spacious and very clean and serviceable. Housekeeping does a great job with keeping the rooms neat and tidy. I was pleasantly surprised to come back to my room one night and found that my housekeeper had made some "towel art" and left it on my bed. The bed was very comfortable and the room comes with a flat screen TV, and a desk to work at. There are plenty of electrical outlets around the desk for all my devices that need charging at night. All of the furniture was in good condition too. The air conditioning worked very well. All of the employees were very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast host was very friendly and always smiling, the front desk staff were all very nice too. This was a great place to stay during my trip to Louisville. This was a great hotel. I will certainly stay here again the next time I visit Louisville. read more

We have stayed at a lot of Fairfield inn & suites and this one was by far the worst one we've ever stayed at. I'm not going to list all of my little reasons that I didn't like this specific hotel; I'm just going to list the biggest one-the room and hallway on our floor had a terrible musty smell. It smelled like there was recent water damage to the room and/or our floor. It was terrible! I didn't smell it in the lobby, but it was strong on the 6th floor. Hope we didn't breath in mold all night long. Not going back to this hotel. read more

I'm a basic person and its your average hotel - clean with a super comfy bed and pillows plus your average tv, desk, fridge, and coffee. I'm super down with the continental hot breakfast and there are several coffee varieties prepared and ready all throughout the day in the lobby. We stayed in the conference room as well, and it was pretty good. No complaints. And very nice for a price that is quite cheaper than other places. read more

Being a Marriott Rewards Member I typically try to stick with Marriott properties, and this trip was no different. Full disclosure though On this trip I was redeeming a voucher which provided me with a free night in a category 1-5 Marriott property. I decided on the Fairfield Inn based on the location, as it provided me with a central location for some of the points that I had planned on visiting while in town for a brief overnight stay. This property shares a building with a Springhill Suites, which I had stayed at in the past and found quite nice. While the Fairfield itself was nice, I did find the neighboring Springhill to offer more space to spread out. Luckily I was only in town for one night so this wasn't an issue. When I first checked in I was greeted by a friendly agent who informed me about parking and the complimentary breakfast served the following morning. The room itself was on the small side however it provided many of the standard amenities including a mini fridge and microwave. While I didn't spend much time in the room other than sleeping I did take advantage of the free complimentary breakfast the following morning which was served downstairs in a smaller lobby. The breakfast itself was typical with a waffle station, eggs, sausage or bacon. Overall this was a decent hotel, however it likely won't be one that I return to in the future as there many properties to choose in downtown Louisville that tend to offer better value. read more

Horrible customer service! I was with a group that had ~40 rooms booked. The mgmt would not honor the booked rate then called the police on the person that made the reservations after tgey declined to pay a horrendous cancellation fee. They didn't disclose the $20 per day/per car parking costs (no that isn't valet.). It is shocking that they would be so unaccomodating, especially for such a large group. The carpet, furniture & finishings are not as fine as one would expect for the rates this hotel charges. The included breakfast was not very impressive, either. Rubbery eggs, cheap Canadian bacon. There is quite a bit of homeless in this area including some that I saw entering the hotel. (Apparently, they're too busy kicking out paying guests.) There is no bar or restaurant attached to the hotel so it would be necessary to venture out for an evening snack or beverage. I can't say that in any category I would recommend this place. I hope the 2 staff members that were actually decent to me find a better employer! read more

I typically stay at the connecting SpringHill Suites but my corporate rate wasn't available so I went to check out their sister hotel. The Fairfield did the trick and I would recommend it. I don't typically spend a lot of time in my hotel when I'm in Louisville so I simply needed a clean place to sleep. Check in was easy and efficient. The evening agents were particularly energetic and helpful. My room was a different set-up than other Fairfields I've stayed in. In lieu of a normal size bathroom, they give you extra space in the actual room. If you need a larger bathroom keep in mind you'll have little to no counter space. I was only there 2 nights so it didn't bother me. Their parking is a $19 which I didn't really understand because the SpringHill is $15 and they share a lot. I don't care enough to make a fuss over $4 but I thought it was interesting. Fairfield rooms are basic and on the smaller side, so if you're here with a small family it's perfect (after all, they have an indoor pool and free breakfast!), but if you need more space the SpringHill or Residence will be better options. If the price is right I'll stay here again. It does the job and I was very comfortable. read more

Some friends and I stayed here one night for a nearby event in downtown Louisville. The staff at the front desk was awesome. Lobby was clean and elevators were quick. It was $15 to park overnight but there was the option of a secured lot or garage at the property. Our rooms were clean with plenty of space. Coffee maker in the room along with a small fridge. There were plenty of towels which was nice. There's a blow dryer, iron and ironing board in the wardrobe. It was quiet enough. I woke up briefly once or twice from an ambulance going to the nearby hospital. Did not have time to try the gym or pool. There is free breakfast til 10am. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again. read more

Horrible experience due to the security guard and night staff. I was sharing a room w my friend for our stay. I arrived early and was waiting for my friend to arrive. Took a seat in the lobby after trying to check in w the desk clerk. All normal so far right? All of a sudden the security guard approaches me and starts interrogating me in a hostel manner. Requesting the reason for me being in the lobby. I react by getting defensive because I don't know what's warranting these questions.... the desk clerk calls me over at this time to inform me that the security guard is just trying to do his job & that I don't need to get an "attitude" w him because they have a high amount of homeless people that come sit in their lobby. So now I'm a homeless person sitting in your lobby???? They tell me to go to the greyhound bus station or airport to wait for my friend. Yes! That's exactly what the hotel staff said. And it just continues from there. They try to force me I have to buy a room myself. They even tell me to call my friend, have them cancel their reservation, book a new room for us under me and they will give me a better deal. Very confusing. I'm shocked these two men belittled and harassed me for waiting for my friend to arrive. Shame on them. Shame on their boss for allowing their employees to act like this. read more

I checked out and went to the airport on a Saturday morning, and realized after I got there that I had left my Kindle in the nightstand drawer in my room. When I called from the airport the gentleman at the front desk remembered me, hustled up to my room, found the Kindle, and sent it with Bob's Taxi back to the airport. I got it in time to make my flight!  The hotel is in a great location for NuLu and historic downtown sightseeing. And the complimentary shuttle service on weekdays is a huge plus. Great hotel for the price!! I'm shocked that this is only a two star hotel. The location is prime for anyone who is looking to explore downtown Louisville and doesn't want to spend a fortune. It's just a 5 minute walk from market street and 10 from the kfc yum center. The room was clean and spacious. The indoor lighting could be improved upon, but otherwise no major complaints. The complimentary hot breakfast is your standard fare with bacon, eggs, and potatoes, as well as 24/7 unlimited house coffee. Strawberries and Greek yogurt served in the morning were huge pluses! They have all the basic amenities, including a pool and gym with all the necessities. Parking is $15 per night, but the front desk was so generous and waived it for us (we were staying less than 24 hours.) read more

Rooms are supposed to be ready at 3. It is now 5:06 and we are still waiting. There are a lot of people waiting in the lobby for rooms to be cleaned. Apparently Marriott does not know how to staff housekeeping appropriately during busy times. I feel horrible for the staff at the front desk. They are very kind, and I'm sure they are mortified and have to deal with lots of angry people. Marriott, you can do better for your guests and your employees. No significant noise from street or hallway Very friendly front desk rep (Shawn) and attached, indoor garage parking for $15/night. Nice desk for computer work. Lots of outlets near bed and desk. Good speed on free wifi (unsecured but worked fine with my VPN) Meh: As with many hotels, lighting is poor. Large windows make a huge difference on a sunny day but if you don't have an electronic device, options for reading comfortably at night would be limited. TV picture was great but cable reception dropped every 10 minutes or so on a clear night - aaagh!!. Asked housekeeper for 1 extra coffee and you would think I had asked for her first born. Hampton inn across the street has an uncovered parking lot for $6/night so cheaper if staying multiple days; but, I had a very good overnight stay here for a reasonable rate (used my AAA discount) and would definitely stay again. read more

The rooms are clean BUT I had no hot water for a shower and every time I've stayed here, I set my room to 67 and wake up in the middle of the night and it is set at 76 with the room temperature at about 74. I'm guessing some kind of energy saving trick but it does not make for a pleasant sleep and last night's cold shower didn't make for a pleasant shower either. I'd rather stay somewhere with a hot shower where I can set my own room temperature. read more

I stayed one night here for a quick trip in Louisville. I normally stay in more high end hotels so I was a little unsure what to expect here. Surprisingly this hotel was very nice. Clean and the hotel staff was friendly. It even has a pool. The breakfast is better than your average continental breakfast with a buffet of scrambled eggs, sausages, hard boiled eggs, bagels, toast, freshly made waffles, oatmeal, fruit and more. A strong hotel for the price but about two blocks in the wrong direction of downtown. Not having a restaurant here makes you have to go out for dinner but please do not walk around too late. Complimentary breakfast in the morning for everyone. Good indoor pool for children with full windows outside. Parking is split between outside and inside and though they have spots "reserved" for Marriott Elite members; the front desk noted they do not check if Elite members are parked there or not. The staff are very kind and attentive and since I'm working late hours, I appreciate delivery can come right to my hotel door instead of me having to go down to the lobby. My only issue with this hotel is the knat problem in their dining room. I was having a glass of wine and working and had to leave after 3 minutes because of the bugs. The moment I left my wine glass out of my hands, 6 nats where on the glass having their party. read more

The Fairfield Inn & Suites is conveniently located in Downtown, near the KFC Center. It's easy to get from there pretty much everywhere in Downtown walking, or take the car for longer distances. The airport is no more than 20 minutes away with traffic. Customer service is really friendly and proactive, no problems there. The rooms are comfortable, nothing fancy. Good room for storage, nice bathroom and great bed. The AC is really loud, so that might be an issue if you are a light sleeper. Some rooms have microwave, some don't. No safety box either. The gym is really good and complete, the laundry rooms has 3 washing machines and 4 dryers, GREAT news. Overall, a good place to stay in Downtown Louisville. read more

My usual hotel was sold out due to a convention, so I ended up staying at the Fairfield Inn. I had a very pleasant stay. My room was not spacious, but that's not something I care a whole lot about. The bed and pillows, which I do care about, were very comfortable. The room was clean and tidy, and the housekeepers did a great job of keeping it that way throughout my visit. My first night was a little loud because the hotel was filled with a teenage baseball team. It was a lot quieter after they left. I always appreciate the little things, like having plenty of outlets.
