We stayed here for our family reunion. The hotel was clean, the staff friendly, and breakfast was included each day. It's not fancy, but it served our purpose well. The kids also enjoyed the pool! read more

my fiance and i recently stayed overnight after a visit to foxwoods. we were greeted promptly and genuinely at the front desk. check in was quick, and i appreciated the offer of the free shuttle to mohegan, even though we were checking in at 11:30pm- haha. i guess maybe we still look young enough to party. :-) our room was very clean, and the bathroom was immaculate (a pet peeve of mine). we had a nice big counter space, and even though there was a shower stall instead of a tub (which i prefer), it was huge, and the door sealed nicely, so there wasn't too much leakage. i would highly recommend staying here if you are in the area. read more

Good alternative to the Hyatt.. and closer to Mohegan sun. Very similar rooms to the Hyatt but a little smaller with smaller windows (less light). Seating area in the rooms are nice. Two TVs in the rooms which Netflix access. Again, smaller than the Hyatt but Same quality. Shuttle was on demand. Higher floors and king suites are nicer than low floor double queens. Overall good place to stay if you go to Mohegan Sun. read more

Our stay at the Fairfield Inn was good. The staff was friendly. The location was good. The room was spacious and nice. The breakfast and fitness center was just ok. It was an inexpensive stay and I am definitely satisfied. I do wish there was a microwave in the room, but they had one in the lobby. We were a short drive away from Brown University and Thayer St. There were plenty of local food spots, gas stations, and convenience stores. The only real issue we had was that there is an airport parking garage right next to the hotel and a car alarm was going off for a good portion of the night. This was at no fault of the hotel and they did offer to move our room to the other end of the building. Otherwise, our stay was good and I would stay here again. read more

In town to visit friends. Hotel is very nice. Lobby area is open and well-organized. Checkin was quick and efficient. Good recommendations on area dining for a late night checkin. Studio room was very comfortable. Totally unexpected. Spacious, clean, not cheap in any way. Comfortable couch, bed. Two televisions. Bathroom clean, well lighted. I thoroughly enjoyed the one night there. Could easily have been comfortable for longer. Highly recommend this hotel. read more

Party in the parking lot a few feet from our room that went on past midnight. A traveling work crew of 10 or so who brought cornhole and liquid refreshments to pass the time. There is a world class casino less than a mile away. Party there all you want but please not right outside our first floor room. Reached out to management and was completely ignored. They just don't care if they exist at all? Plenty of better places to stay in the area. read more

Beware if you are staying here and going to the casino! Make sure you check in first, or they could give YOUR room away! Honestly due to the way my husband and I were treated, I would not recommend anyone spend money at this hotel. And it is a shame that the Marriot's name is associated with it, because I used to love Marriot hotels. We arrived at the hotel around 1pm, and the person at the front desk told us that our room was not ready, so we can leave our cars and go to the casino and just check-in when we get back. (we were going for the Food and Wine event which started at noon, and went all day), then were spending the evening at the Casino for dinner, drinks and gambling. I got a phone call at 10:23pm from the hotel asking if we were still coming, and I said yes, but that we were at the casino, and wouldn't be there until after midnight. They said that's fine, and just to call them if it is going to be much later than that. I called the hotel at 12:13am and said that we should be there in about an hour and the person I spoke to said ok. Then around 1-1:15am, we arrived at the hotel to find that our room had been given away, but they were going to give us a "free" room at the Courtyard Marriot (15 mins away!!). Meanwhile, our close friends who we were spending the weekend with were checked in at the Fairfield Inn. We were in shock and so disappointed, not to mention needed to ask for a shuttle since we had been at the casino having some cocktails, and were not warned that our room had been given away, so were not going to take the chance of driving ourselves 15 mins to the other hotel. We asked to speak to a manager, and my husband spoke to someone who said the General Manager would be calling him the following Tuesday. This was over 2 weeks ago, and no one has called us. We did not get to our new hotel until after 2am where we got 2 double beds (vs the king bed that my husband and I had reserved ) and the room was 85 degrees when we walked in. We did not have the complimentary breakfast either, and did not get to spend the morning with our friends who were at the Fairfield Inn. We had to pay for our own breakfast at a nearby diner. This was supposed to be a special weekend, and it was my husband's birthday that Sunday, and this hotel really ruined what was supposed to be a special, nice, fun, relaxing night away from our kids (which we DO NOT GET TO DO VERY OFTEN!!!!). They did not rectify the situation AT ALL, and I would highly recommend NOT staying at a place who's policy is to give rooms away EVEN IF YOU HAVE A RESERVATION AND HAD MULTIPLE CONVERSATIONS WITH THE HOTEL STAFF ALL NIGHT LONG. Just so very disappointed at the horrible way they treat customers. read more

I usually don't leave bad reviews and thought about this for a bit and gave the managers and supervisors at the hotel time to return their calls to me but as of today Wed June 20th I have not had a return call to me which shows me that my business and my stay with them doesn't matter which I feel is so unfair to me and the other guests that day. I am not sure if this hotel is having some sort of problems with staff but the customer service was bye far the worst that I have experienced. I made my reservation to stay here 8 months ago to ensure I would get the room I wanted because we were celebrating our Anniversary and attending the Tim McGraw concert at Mohegan. When I checked in at the front desk the attendant made a remark that the rooms were over $500 per night because of Tim McGraw being in town.I am not sure why she felt like she had to tell me this. I know they take advantage of the customer when they have someone in town. Which is not fair! I booked a room with a king size bed and when arrived I was a given a room with two smaller beds which was NOT what I booked 8 months in advance. I called the front desk to advise them of the incorrect room given to us and they told me our room was rented to someone else and there were no other rooms available and nothing that they could do . (Maybe for over $500) they rented my room like she felt the need to tell me this at check in. Needless to say we did not sleep comfortably at all that night. Also upon our arrival we noticed the room smelled like mildew and musty which turned my stomach and made me very stuffy since I have allergies to begin with. We also arrived late from the concert and wanted to sleep in until about at least 8am since we never get away and this was our Anniversary. We could not do that since there was a staff member who at 6am decided to pour two 5 gallon buckets of ice in the ice machine outside our door that woke us up. As we attempted to check out along with other guests at the counter the two staff members knew they had a counter with customers waiting to check out and never came over to us for at least 10 minutes. The two woman continued to carry on a conversation in the office. Sounded like they were complaining about another staff person. Which is very unethical. As we all waited patiently the guests that were also checking out with us did not hesitate to tell us how unhappy they were with their stay due the way they were treated at check in by the staff. After several attempts to resolve this and voice mails left for the manager and the general manager I never received a call back. I am hoping that a supervisor or someone that is managing this hotel reads this and sees that a review has to be posted because of the poor service and how their customers are being treated. read more

My husband and I had a wonderful weekend. The Fairfield was very close to Mohegan Sun which we were there to meet with a group of friends for a reunion. The parking was close and we felt safe. The welcome desk was nicely decorated and the people there were very nice. It was nice to have a little snack bar available because we got to the hotel a little late in the evening. It didn't take long to check in and get situated. One we felt was an issue was the Fairfield Inn offered transportation service to/ from Mohegan Sun. However when I asked if that transportation was wheelchair accessible they said no. They said that Mohegan Sun offered transportation too but didn't know if it was accessible and it was up to us to reserve if we used it, they had no connection with arranging. This was one reason we wanted to stay there was because there was transportation. And, I believe you cannot offer transportation to your guests but not provide for your wheelchair guests. Our room was beautiful, huge, very wheelchair accessible and clean. However, it was next to the elevator and maintenance areas which made our room for a VERY noisy stay listening to loud talking/arguing, bumping, running, etc. The person cleaning our room did a very nice job and didn't pressure us to leave the room early- big bonus we look for. Breakfast was good and they had many choices. However, there were not enough tables and chairs for people to sit. (I believe the hotel was full, but that is not an excuse). We would definitely be back but would want a different room AWAY from the elevator and we would expect transportation be available for all guests including those who are in wheelchairs. read more
