    Three used que tips
    Maddie P.

Everything was fine and dandy until I found three used Q-tips in my bed. Told the front desk lady, and all she said was "What do you expect me to do about it?" and then blamed me for not inspecting the room. Not usually my experience with Marriott, so go to another one.

    Broken tiles

Don't even think about it. By far worst hotel I've ever been to. And there have been tons. I'll just list the issue so far : Fire/smoke detector hanging from ceiling Cracked tiles coming up in bathroom Shower rod about to fall off holder One towel allowed per person So much odor remover in the hallways and rooms it makes your throat dry Breakfast was little to non existent Coffee was beyond bitter and smelled funny. (I'm the person that will drink left over coffee the next day if hecesssry and this wouldn't even come close to being drinkable. Shower water smelled like something g was dead inside the tank Front desk personnel stated nothing they can do. No maintenance people on the weekends and no manager to speak with until Monday. (Currently Saturday) Been on with Marriott Bonvoy for 30 minutes as they are trying to speak with hotel staff and the staff keep hanging up on Bonvoy Customer Service.

This is not Marriott standard by one star at all. When I arrived the customer service staff did greet us, but immediately I did not feel comfortable looking at the lobby and the cleanliness. Upon arrival into the room, it was a very wet smell oder and the drainage smelled of sewage in the bathroom sink. Rusted decor, old furnishings and the side door did not need a key we walked right in!!! As you can see from the pictures, this hotel needs a huge renovation. We did not stay long enough to see what was offered for breakfast and we left during the middle of our stay. The wall colors in the hallways do not meet Marriott standards they were orange and the elevator sounded as if it were about to break down. If you find another room in the area, please go there don't bother coming here until they get a better standard of Marriott hotel brand is known for. Location is great for finding another hotel!!

Please read my entire review and decide for yourself... you will see my initial response to the GM, and his final response for a lack of space allotted from Yelp. I think the point is clear- its nasty, and Fred did NO homework. If he had, he would have KNOWN that I spoke to the front desk four times, and absolutely communicated my issues, and that was how I was given the card with his email address to begin with. As for his "100 % certainty that they (we) do not have mice." Nice try calling me a liar- you know better! Who cares if you have "pest control," you clearly have pest control, because you have PESTS! What a HORRIBLE way to do business- call the customer a liar. Good afternoon, Mr. Brown, I appreciate your patience. As the General Manager, I was on duty every day during your stay, and I regret that you did not visit the Front Desk to discuss any concerns you may have had. I would have gladly addressed them and arranged for a different room if necessary. It's important to note that, as per Marriott policy, housekeeping services at Fairfield are provided every other day, which explains why your room remained untouched upon your return. Regarding your mention of mice on your last night, I can assure you with 100% certainty that we do not have mice in our hotel. In fact, we never had any guests complain of this nature and as a precaution your room was inspected and there were no signs of mice. Our hotel diligently follows a strict pest control program with a trusted local company. Regrettably, we have concluded that we cannot offer a refund for your stay. Please feel free to reach out if you have any further questions or concerns. Best Regards, Fred B General Manager Fairfield by Marriott ® Hello Freddie: I feel the need to tell you about my experience as a unfortunate guest at your hotel. When I checked in on Sunday I had a great experience with you desk clerk and made my way to the room. I should have immediately checked out had I went with my better judgement and never agreed to stay there. Your gentleman with grey slicked back hair who works the desk in the evenings proved to be a major jerk- to say it nicely. I went down to explain my concerns about the room, and was simply told I could "talk to the GM." The room (as you can see below in photographs) was a complete mess. I begrudgingly just went to bed and left for my first day of meetings, only to return and have nothing done in my room while I was gone that day. The room had not been made over, the pillows not dealt with, and place just as nasty as it was when I checked in. So now I have all my peers in your hotel and it was just easier to stay, and I assumed the issued would be dealt with for my next night. I left for day 2 of training and then returned to find that my room, again had not been touched. I was less than pleased. On my final night there, I awoke to two mice- yes two, running a crossed my bed. This is completely unacceptable. The place simply cannot be this out of control that mice on a second-floor room have taken over a hotel. I have called the hotel three times asking to speak with you- you apparently are too busy to talk to your customers. I do intend to share my experience with others online to ensure they all know they have options- and in my opinion, your hotel should not be one of them. I just wanted to do the right thing and let you know in writing before I shared my experiences online, and with Marriott. I do not believe I should have to pay a dime for this stay. Regards Matt Brown

Could use an update and maintenance, drawer opened unless it was wedged closed. Maids kept a tag from someone's clothes as the wedge :(

The hotel was located in a very convenient location for myself. The hotel is easily accessible and close to the freeway, yet set far enough away to have no noise from it. The hotel itself is an older hotel. The furniture had some issues, such as a TV stand/dresser that was being propped closed by someone's clothes tag. This was quite tacky. The beds were a little soft in my opinion, but still comfortable. There was a microwave and refrigerator in the room. Unfortunately the refrigerator was missing the racks on the inside so it couldn't fit much. The microwave was very low wattage and unable to pop popcorn, but it was fine for heating leftovers. The desk which I needed since I was working was wonderful and honestly my favorite aspect of the room. Overall it was a fairly quiet hotel. The staff was pleasant. I would stay at this hotel again.

I stayed here this past weekend due to my love for Matriot brand hotels. This location does not meet the standard of other Marriots. Checked in online and did not get my notification my room was ready until 7pm after reaching out to the hotel via chat. Other Marriots are doing the mobile key which I confirmed via the app but they still made me come to the front desk and check-in and gave me a hard key. The dust was horrible and on all surfaces. The shower made a loud noise when turned to hot. The only reason I am giving this hotel a 2 star is because the gentleman at the front desk was nice and professional but I wouldnt stay here again.

    Disgusting af

Stayed here for a business trip for 2 nights. This is the grossest hotel I've been at in a while. There was makeup on the washcloths before I used them, some kind of vomit like substance on one of the sides of the bed, dust everywhere, gunk and sticky stuff everywhere and a VERY NOTICEABLE PEE STAIN on the comforter you're supposed to sleep in. We had to ask for new pillow cases as well because there were brown stains. It is no surprise this hotel has less than 3 stars. Please do not spend your good money on this shitty hotel. I would give 0 stars if I could..

Checkin was efficient…read moreand the staff we interacted with were all pleasant, but when we got to our room we had issues. The TV and Fridge were not working, and the door handle on the interior side of the bathroom door was missing. We did not realize this, and our son was locked in the bathroom. Thankfully we were in the room to let him out! We called the front desk and they immediately sent maintenance and he confirmed that not only was the handle missing, but the door was off track and essentially could lock you in. We were moved to another room. Overall the room was "clean", but there was a musty old locker room smell in both rooms we were in. There was some mold above the shower in the bathroom. Housekeeping came every day and did a nice job. We used to stay at Hilton Garden Inn's, but since they no longer provide a decent breakfast, I chose Hampton as I knew a breakfast would be included. It is a basic breakfast and the make your own waffles are a nice touch. That said, there is really very little fresh fruit (some old apples in saran wrap), and no adult cereals, no oatmeal, etc... It all feels a little sad. Another reason we chose this property was the location, it suited us for the business we had in Jacksonville, but you should be aware that the property is in an inconvenient spot with no direct access from 295 north or south unless you make a u-turn on a very very busy road. We often had to wait multiple light cycles to make a u-turn, so plan to add 4-12 minutes to your travel time when trying to get to the hotel. My stays at Hilton properties over the past couple of years have me questioning my loyalty to Hilton. As a Diamond member we stay quite a bit, but I think I could be paying less at say a Holiday Inn, for about the same quality, who knows, maybe better. Unfortunately, the negatives far outweigh the positives and we would not likely stay here again.

The room has the same old, spotted carpet squares as the elevator but the room was smelly. It smelled like old fabrics or carpet. Yuck! The ice bucket still had water spots on the top and in the bucket and a strand of hair. Not sure what to make if that. The desk was dirty. Pulled comforter back on one of the beds and theirs a huge brown stain. Seriously!?! The counter tops of all of the furniture was dirty. I sanitized the toilet seat and when I wiped it down, it was filthy! The room chair is disgusting. The television didn't work the first night and the front desk representative who took our call and complaint left us hanging. They fixed it after I called a second time the next day. The bathroom walls were even filthy. Noted: we were in a pet friendly room and the person who booked it doesn't recall agreeing to or requesting it. I didn't mention this to management because the nature of our stay was a sad occasion and we were doing a quick turnaround with too busy of an agenda to have to spend time trying to get a clean room from a Hilton branded property.

So yeah...the carpet is gross. Like, gah gross. The unit in the room is quite loud so I turned it off, but it's also essential because without it, the room is very stuffy. So you're either going to have to gulp and chew your air all night or try to sleep with what sounds like a small truck in your room. The attendees are very friendly, but I wanted one to be a bit more knowledgeable about the surrounding area. I asked the lady at the front desk about Chinese places nearby and she told me about two, but after I'd returned from eating at China Buffet (very mediocre), I saw menus on a table in the lobby for two other places nearby that looked much better than what I'd eaten. Oh well. The breakfast in the morning is nice. Make your own waffle, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, french toast, oatmeal etc. It was nice to have a complimentary breakfast before leaving the next morning. It wasn't a bad stay, but there were a few disappointments. If there's a next time, I'm definitely bringing house shoes to walk around in.

I have the Hilton app, so I was able to check in and choose my room in advance, and I could have skipped the physical check in and go directly to my room using my phone as my key. The rooms are not huge, but they are clean and functional. There's no closet and no dresser, just a few places to hang clothing on the wall, so I wouldn't want an extended stay, but it's more than adequate for a night in transit. The beds were fine, and the pillows were okay. Towels in the bathroom were pretty small and thin. This is not a luxury resort. There's an included breakfast that is basic but fine. They have a pancake maker, and my husband was impressed. I stuck to fruit, omelet and sausage patty. The coffee was fine. The juices were not great, but again, this was a free breakfast buffet, so the bar wasn't high. Staff was nice enough, if not particularly great. They do not have EV chargers, but there are a few spots in the parking lot that are designated for EVs, and there are normal plugs nearby, so you can do a slow recharge for a few miles until you find a real supercharger. Tru by Hilton exceeded all my expectations and then some starting right as I walked in. I was taken aback by the grandiose size of the lobby, which, in my opinion, rivaled many other larger and more expensive hotels that I've stayed at. There's a business center with plenty of workstations and plugs for those who work remotely or for those like me who just like to look like I'm doing something important. The lounge area is beautifully embellished with comfy couches, hanging chairs, foosball tables, a roomy dining area, and a TV to keep the kids entertained. There's a complimentary breakfast bar, but I'm not sure what the hours are because I NEVER wake up in time....ever. The fully stocked snack store around the front desk is a blessing to those who stay up way too late binge-watching true crime shows *raises hand.* There's a striking mural of downtown Jacksonville that really gives the lobby an added touch of charm and class. The 24-hour fitness center is an added bonus for all the workout gurus, and the convenient water bottle fill station ensures that everyone stays hydrated. I arrived at my room and was pleased with the layout. First off, everything smelled clean, which is always a good sign. There's a mini frig with a couple of bottles of complimentary water, and while there isn't a closet in the room, there's hangers and an appointed wall space to hang your clothes. The King-sized bed was very comfortable and provided a good nights rest. The spacious bathroom is stocked with all the essentials (yes, the shampoo/conditioner/body wash/lotion all have a pleasant fragrance), plenty of towels and wash cloths, and good water pressure in the shower. Overall, a fantastic experience, bravo. I was warmly greeted by the lady (WHY can't I ever remember names?) at the front desk and checked in and out without a hitch. If you're in the area or planning to be and need a place to crash, this is THE choice. Big thanks to the staff at Tru by Hilton for an awesome stay, I'll definitely be back!
