After getting my snowblower tuned up from Fairfield this a Fall, it's running like a top and it's getting a workout this season like everyone else. Today (18 inches of snow) the auger stopped spinning, after I ran into a plastic shovel (it was buried), but when Fairfield dropped off the machine, they left 2 shear bolts with the receipt. I was back running in 15 minutes. Great place to take your machines. They know their business and give great advice. I will be calling them for another tune up once this snow ever stops. read more

Great local place for repairs and advice. Brought in Ol' Stacey (lawnmower) after a once over said we could repair but she's burning oil best to get a new machine. Purchased a new Toro that runs like a charm, is lightweight and sips gas. read more

Keith and Brian are a rare find. We all know how difficult it is to find a good, honest, and fair small engine repair shop. I started using them about a year ago, I was reluctant to go here because back then there was only 1 sour grapes review on Google with no other references but I pressed on anyway. It is so hard to find a good small engine place that doesn't just want you to "buy a new one", glad I went to see them. When I brought up the bad review, he just dismissed it and said "...yeah, that' that salesman we kicked out because we weren't buying his Sh*&t". It all seemed credible and I'm glad I wasn't swayed. They are old school with raw talent at making small engines and machinery sing. They just finished a HUGE overhaul/re-build on my 50" ride on snowblower. They re-built it basically from the ground up with skill and with longevity in mind. He kept it close to my budget and the amount it cost was clearly appropriate for the value of the machine I ended up with. These guys used their experience and ingenuity to provide me with a snow beast!! I'd provide criticism if I thought it was merited but he did what he said he would do and at a good value. The only frustration I can say I had was in his desire to provide a short turn around time he kept saying "it'll happen next week" which really meant 2 weeks from now. I felt this was a small price to pay for the value and services rendered. I feel comfortable doing business on a hand shake with Keith which is not easy to find anymore. This industry is full of "Hacks" trying to make a living spending more time fixing their mistakes than doing the job right. Kieth and Brian are highly skilled, easy to work with, and as long as you have realistic expectations you will not be disappointed. Thanks again guys. Let it snow!! read more

I typically fix my own machines. I had a Honda mower I just couldn't get to run properly. Obvious carburetor issue i just couldn't pin it down. These guys got it running like new. Didn't overcharge fixed the carburetor instead of replacing saved me $. Could have jacked up the $ instead only $30 in parts including a new blade.They seemed to truly care about your machine asking questions and giving advice about fuel, maintenance, and storage. Nice enough guys. Owner gave me some advice on what may be wrong with my tractor, so I tried it and although it didn't work it pointed me In the right direction Luckily I was comfortable doing my own work, swapped out the carb and did a full oil chai he, now the tractor doesn't smoke anymore. Not often you find a company that doesn't want to take customers money, but I was happy for the advice and that I could make it work. Good people to do business with. Called Keith about fixing my snow blower, and he asked me what was the problem with it. I gave him a brief explanation of the problem, over the phone, and he said it needs a belt adjustment. He explained the fix step by step and said if I had any trouble, to call him back and he would walk me thru it. The next day I followed his instructions and now the machine works perfectly. I went over to see Keith because by Craftsman Lawn Vacuum would not start. Keith looked at quickly and figured out a very minor problem that was preventing it from starting. Keith made a brief adjustment and it started right away. He told me "I can't take your money" and helped me load the machine back into my car. I had never been to this shop before but it was recommended by a friend and I am glad I went there. I very much appreciate honesty and integrity and Keith demonstrated both of those qualities to me. He could have charged me for a bigger repair job but didn't. That tells me he is an honest guy. I told Keith he now has a customer for life! Get your mower in early. These guys are great! They are nice, honest, and dependable. Prices are more than fair considering the service you get. Brian picked up my 2007 Craftsman mower. I told Keith over the phone it needed a tune up and I had a hard time moving the arm that engages the blades. A day later Keith asked me to come over to see how tall I was and how much strength I had in my arm. (not much). About 3 days later the weekend before Easter, on a Saturday, he asked me to come over again. I sat on the mower. I was facing Rt. 46 on Plymouth St. I started it. He told me to move the arm. I couldn't believe it! No Struggling! No motor dying! YAY! I yelled like a kid. He laughed. This was great I was so-o happy! Sitting on the mower, I saw people passing by in their cars yelling, HEY KEITH! When I got off the mower I turned around and saw Keith's wife selling spring flowers to a young couple. People were walking around, neighbors talking , Kids playing, I felt as if I was in a Norman Rockwell painting, "Homecoming". A tiny slice of Americana. Five minutes of time and half block of heaven.
