This clinic is incredibly dysfunctional and I feel obligated to write a review. I began by seeing Sarah, who I felt fine with at first. After seeing her quite a few times, her bedside manner was consistently lacking. When I wasn't following her guidelines to a T, she referred me to her husband which seems like quite the norm according to other reviews. Her husband was nice enough, but tried to use scare tactics on me about a health issue that he and I were attempting to work on, but wasn't responding to any sort of medication. And he had the audacity to use those scare tactics on me. Let me just reiterate that. I was already feeling discouraged about my health problem and I was going to this provider for help. I was complying, trying multiple medications that I could not afford, doing the lifestyle changes they recommended, and they felt as though I was not taking it seriously and made me feel awful about myself. Every time I saw Sarah after that, she was extremely hostile with me and would not give me the time of day. As a practice they are completely untrustworthy. I have a friend who have brought in their infant and were given the wrong vaccine. I have friends that have also attempted to seek care from this office and also felt like they were not given the time of day or talked down to. Not only does she talk down to patients, Sarah also talks down to the support staff. And like several other reviews, getting a referral sent was a nightmare. And calling to the office is a nightmare. To get to the point, I don't trust these providers and I will never return to Fairhaven Integrative Health and I strongly do not recommend this clinic to anyone. read more

Both of the doctors at this office are amazing. I have seen both of them for different reasons. They took the time to listen to my concerns and needs. They followed through for almost a year on my bloodwork. They are both wonderful naturopaths that I highly recommend. read more

I hate writing negative reviews of places, but as a consumer, I wish I had had more reviews to look at about Fairhaven Integrative Health before going there and wasting my time and money. I could write a whole long story, but I'll try to keep it fairly short and to the point. When I first went to see Dr. Sarah Garrett, I imagined that I would have a typical intake exam- perhaps a more in-depth one, with it being a naturopathic practice. Instead, because I listed that I was due for a pap on my paper work, she thought that was what my visit was for when I walked in- and I had to clarify that I was a brand new patient, and was not coming in for that just yet. I went through the entire intake appointment , and was shocked that she never once recorded my height, blood pressure, or weight. Since I work in the medical field, it was odd to me that these were not done. However, this was my first time seeing a naturopath, so figured maybe this was due to a slightly different way of doing things- so I decided to remain open-minded. When I did go in for a subsequent appointments, it seemed like a flurry of disorganization; gowns had been taken to the wash but not returned to the correct place, a certain device was missing, machine was broken and you need to come back in, etc. I know stuff like this happens, so I was very understanding. However, Dr. Garrett's bedside manner was also very off-putting- almost "irritable," if I had to describe it with one word. Despite all this, I had read the good reviews on here, and decided to give her a chance... Long story short, she prescribed a diet to me that made me absolutely miserable and showed zero results, despite me following it to a T. When I emailed her multiple times (at the peak of my misery) asking if there was anything I could adjust or do differently to feel better (I could barely think/function), I never got an answer to my question. I also didn't get a sense that she cared. Instead, I felt like my emails were a nuisance to her. This was irritating, as I had busted my butt to commit to this diet 100%. When I expressed my disappointment to her that the special diet did not show the results she had told me to expect, she simply referred me to her husband, who apparently has more experience in this field. I felt let down because 1- why not refer me to to him in the first place instead of putting me through this hellacious diet and a month of supplements as an experiment, and 2- not only was this diet terrible, but you didn't support me-- and now you're pawning me off onto someone else? Not impressed. However, STILL wanting to give this all a chance, I had an appointment with her husband, and found that visit completely useless. After that, I stopped going here and found Bellingham Natural Family Medicine, which is a clinic in town that I LOVE! Maybe I'm one of the few to have an experience like this here, but if there are others, I wish they had written reviews, as they would have saved me both time and money! I really enjoyed the care I got here over a summer spent in Bellingham. The care team is personable and knowledgeable. Dr. Sarah Garret read my entire medical chart with a fine tooth comb to understand my needs. Danielle in the front office has the best customer service skills I have ever experienced. Kudos to the team in this small practice. I wish I could have taken them with me when I left. I have yet to find care even remotely comparable. read more

This was my first time at this clinic, and I was told I could come in person. 2 hours before my appointment, they switched it to a phone appointment. Which meant I could not get certain testing done that I was hoping to. Poor beside manner/strange comments when talking about sensitive topics. Do not recommend and I am not going back. read more

He was welcoming, listened to me and gave very compete and thoughtful explanations to my questions. I never felt rushed. Dr. Sarah Garrett is hands-down one of the best medical doctors I have seen in my 38 years of life! Her demeanor was calm, personable, as well as tentative and she actually took the time to listen to what I had to say. I know crazy right! However, what to me was the most important point was she was able to identify and treat the underlying problem, and not simply my symptoms! I don't know why this approach in the medical profession is so rare, but unfortunately, it is! I have worked with Dr. Sarah and Joseph Garrett for six years now. As someone who struggles with anxiety related to medicine and doctors, as well as someone who has had three surgeries in the last few years, I can say with confidence that working with this clinic has been a life saver! When I had a fever of 103 back in December 2019, I emailed the client portal and I received a response quickly (On a Saturday!!) with orders to get labs and recommendations for treatment that very day. When my husband and I needed a COVID test, they scheduled us the very next day and it was a hassle free experience. I have many more examples of this kind of exceptional service. They treat my concerns with urgency and concern. They go out of their way to explain things so I understand them. I cant count the times I have cried in this office...tears of joy, fear, and warmth. I've had some long standing medical issues that have not been resolved with other specialists and primary care physicians. I've never been to a NP because where I come from, there aren't any but I've always been interested in exploring this avenue of healing. Dr. Garrett listened, asked a lot of questions, explained all necessary tests as well as results, and thoroughly evaluated my condition before deciding on a course of treatment which surprisingly is very balanced in Eastern and Western medicine. For the first time, I felt not just heard but understood. There's a deep respect inherent in that. The amount of time taken with each appointment is extraordinary. I've never felt rushed. I believe Dr. Garrett's primary intention is to see her patients heal and do well. It's evident in everything a patient experiences. I have seen both of the Garrett's over the past 3 years. They both have been fantastic. I like that they have a strong appreciation for science and evidence-based medicine. They both integrate a nice balance of "Eastern" and "Western" medicine practices - after thorough and thoughtful investigation. It is easy to schedule an appointment, and the online portal system makes communication, reports, labs, and follow-up really easy to track and access. Their receptionist Daniella is lovely and very organized. My husband also see's Dr. Joseph Garrett (for his yearly physicals and other medical needs) and has been very happy with his knowledge, thorough explanations, and good medical advice. He is an engineer, so is always seeking data - and Dr J.Garrett has always been very up-to-date in his medical reading. My husband and I have been seen a spectrum of health practitioners in Bellingham over the past decade - from "that MD gave me three shocking prescriptions within 2 minutes of meeting me" to "that alternative practitioner wants me to spend a fortune on something with zero evidence of it actually working"...
