A testament to 1960s design sensibilities, the Fairview Flyover is a huge iron structure that helps pedestrians cross what is admittedly a very busy road. During election times, it is festooned with campaign posters, whilst local businesses also use it as an unofficial advertising hoarding. Children in particular love it, running up the echoing steps, occasionally tossing down objects or spitting at their unfortunate mates below. Each side has not one but two entry/exit points, but neither of them is entirely wheelchair friendly - a huge oversight. read more

What a fun way to cross a very busy street.....a newly redesigned and rebuilt bridge at that!! the kids love it too, you can feel the vibrations from the cars passing by....my poor big dog was a little scared! The only downside to this bridge....even though this new bridge is less than one year old.....the two entry/exit points on both sides still have steps, still making it very hard for wheelchair access. read more
