The practice facilities before arriving at hole #1 were well taken care and provided enough space for our group and many others to not feel crowded. The starter was friendly and kept everyone aware of time and tee availability. We even went off a bit early. The course winds through an array of types of areas with wonderful scenery and great golf ambience. The course is wide but requires smart course management as it is not without risk and reward. The greens are newish and made of a new specialized grass - they had interesting bend and break and were fast and true - you had to pay attention to the putting. Our group played at a good pace and enjoyed the round and would play the course again on our next golf trip.

The Lakeview Grille, which is open to the public, has good food and reasonable prices for beer and drinks. Only real downside is that it does not have a locker room. Still, best bang for the buck, by far, in the area. The member for a day is a great way to learn about the place and decide if you want to join.

My group was removed from the course after we accidentally picked up the wrong golf ball. We immediately apologized, but despite this, we were treated harshly and unfairly. A white woman involved in the situation looked at us with clear hostility, and we were made to feel dehumanized and targeted. We attempted to explain what happened, but Jo Jo sided with the other party without hearing us out or offering any explanation. When I asked if we were being treated this way because we are Black, the reaction from her and others nearby was a look I will never forget. I strongly advise others to avoid this course. It is poorly maintained and, more importantly, does not appear to be welcoming or respectful to Black or Hispanic golfers. I will not be returning and encourage others to take a stand against this kind of behavior.

A few disturbing things that I noticed....there is no ATM on the entire property. That's weird. They have a pro shop and a bar/restaurant and it's a golf club where people bet. The other item is the wait staff in the restaurant. For some reason when they give us a bill they point out that there is a 20% service charge on the tab but it goes to the facility and they do not get any of it. At the bottom of the menu there is a notation about the 20% service charge for the administration for the food and beverage services and then it states "No additional gratuity is expected or required". We found this odd. We felt strong armed into leaving an additional 20%. We are there for a few days coming in and out every day. If we didn't tip extra we felt we would pay the price with bad service or worse.... Not sure why the menu states one thing and we are told something different by the wait staff. Regardless the property is awesome and the golf is AMAZING!

The entire staff from check in to the ranger was welcoming I am indeed younger than most in the community and on the course but they did not make me feel unwelcome. The course design features a lot of par 3's and is definitely on the smaller side with average 18 hole play times being no more than 3 hours (great course if you want quick play). Course conditions as pictured were not bad at all and it was great to work on shorter shots and wedges since you mainly utilize irons and wedges here.
