Faith Baptist has been a true blessing for my family. We regret not knowing about the school earlier as our son started attending in the 3rd grade. The staff and everyone in faculty is genuine and each one cares deeply for their students. Not only they are strong academically but they show God's love in their daily interaction, teaching the students what it truly means to be a Christian and the good news of the Gospel. For what they offer, they should be priced as one of the highest but the leadership is not about that which says a lot. If you are considering the school, don't even think twice! This school has a delightful campus and is a wholesome place to have your children educated in a Christian setting. They do assign excessive amounts of homework but I think it is to prepare the kids for college. If your child can stomach the seemingly never ending assignments and sometimes overly stern treatment they will excel in any academic setting. I attended this school from 4th-12 grade, unfortunately not of my own volition. The way Christianity is taught is twisted, hyperbolic, and oppressive, and stifles creativity, curiosity, and individuality. God forbid your child pushes back on the beliefs this church has - welcome a bunch of demerits and traumatic psychological punishment from broken insecure adults claiming to be authority figures. I also have to agree with a previous review - women are actively discouraged from academic fields. I'll never forget for the rest of my life being sat in the principal's office hearing his disappointment that despite my high grades and acceptance into a wonderful university, God's purpose for me was to find and marry a pastor and have his children. On a social aspect, my younger sister was bullied horrifically for years after I left, and no higher up did anything about it. Nepotism at its finest. School is known for that. I heard about it from other parents, but my son was an innocent victim. Didn't think that it would happen to my son, but it did. Many, many, many similar incidents and always ends the same. Principal S. Rasmussen loves to jump conclusions. She acts like a 5 years old child. She talks and would not let me talk. She and her staff totally scared my child. Pretty much cornered him and would like let him speak his case. They call themselves Christian and believer of God? 7 years ago we had concerns about the quality, safety, and extreme secular worldvew in the public middle schools. After researching and talking to parents that had kids graduated from (and currently attending) FBS, we enrolled our daughter into 6th grade. I decided to write a review since my daughter is graduating this year from Faith Baptist and after 7 years, I feel I have enough experience to give an honest and thorough review. Faith Baptist School is first, a God fearing/loving Christian school. Any complaints about their standards, rules, or beliefs is not with the school; but with the Bible. While no one or school is perfect, they try to lead based on biblical principles which is the main reason we chose this school. My son is also enrolled at faith. He came from a gifted/magnet program in public school. While he did well in his studies in public school, the atmosphere was not healthy. Without going into details, the negative influences were starting to take effect on him so we wanted to nip it in the bud. We decided to have him join his sister at Faith. His whole demeanor did a 180! Once a quiet shy kid is now a much livelier and full of energy and is happy. To see this as a father still brings me to tears. It was an answered prayer. He's found both valuable friends and good role models from staff. Both my son and daughter are being trained and taught well in practical and spiritual subjects. The workload is heavy but they learned how to cope and work hard. My daughter had a tough time keeping up with the work in the beginning. Now she's developed her own routine to stay on top of things growing in maturity and taking responsibility. I believe this will help her stay disciplined in college. Our kids have become great kids and have great influences and friends. Obviously it starts at home. It's nice to have a school that shares the same values as we do at home. Cost. No private school is cheap. At least for us. There are many activities and events that do have costs (senior trip, camps, conferences, etc) but they are all optional. We are a single income household so there are sacrifices made for our kids to attend FBS. That being said, Faith is one of the least expensive Christian schools. That does not equate to less quality. Actually we are getting MUCH for our money. I wouldn't trade this experience for our kids for any other school; cheaper or more expensive. For some, this is a luxury. My son went to this school for 1 year aged 3-4. The younger children are expected to sit at their desks all day doing worksheet after worksheet with minimal movement or stimulation. It was a travesty to send our young son here (DAMAGED HIM SOCIALLY AND EMOTIONALLY) and he could read and write at 3 years! At 5 he was tested to be at 4th grade academically. We sent him to this school to become well rounded! Did not happen. If your child is a ROBOT, please apply. I used to think how do they get all the youngsters to sit down all day LONG!!! They only stood behind their chair to sing one song a day. Minimal breaks and playtime. At this age, children learn through play and observation, hands-on. Otherwise it was back to sedation mode. It was shocking and sickening. Horrible experience overall. How do we know? My husband spent many hours and I'm embarrassed to say months (I used to call him the unpaid teacher) in the classroom to keep my son seated for most of the day. It was our first child and we didn't know this was wrong, wrong, wrong. We were then taken to the office after my son could no longer sit still all day and told spare the rod, spoil the child. Goodness grief. We left the school after this. I am a devout Christian and this my friends is Faith Baptist. So many more grievances, but you get the idea. Most parents drop off their kids and leave...please, please, please do your due diligence and find out what your children are subject to at any school! read more

We have both of our children enrolled here at faith , my daughter loves this school , as well as our son. We are Christians and although sure there are some differences In some minor view points, in its totality we love everything about this school. We have had the most positive experiences with all the teachers they are a true blessing . It does start with the parents however , if you love Christ and live out that love with your children and the world , this school is going to bless you in ways you could not imagine. If you're on the fence about God , if you don't live out your love for Christ in a way that is edifying and nurturing then I would not be surprised to see negative reviews. We are Christian's and we are commanded to walk the straight and narrow path, not to the left or to the right. I was a trouble maker as a child and if I had went to this school then it would not have been a successful experience due to my pushback, this school is not for everyone because it is strict " in a loving caring way" and we are ok with having a discipline structure to complement what we teach our kids at home. ( I'm old school and I believe it works ) The staff here are very open and eager to learn from the parents and their experiences, they have many workshops that help parents understand their growing child's environment, bullying, cyber workshops , etc. It really is a partnership and if you're ready to make a sacrifice in how you live out your life and express that in every walk of your life then this school will be fantastic. If you are going home and creating an environment where you don't put Christ first then this school will cause some tension for you, for the fact that light and dark don't mix , one has to take presences over the other . I went to Faith from K4 to 2nd and again from 8th until I graduated. I lived out of the country in between. I loved my time at FB! I'm a "POC" and I tell you the truth: Not once was I disrespected/judged for my or my family & friends' ethnicities. In fact, I have never felt more included as a POC. Now that my child is a student there, I see it even more. They have ethnically diverse staff & students. It also takes just one second to view photos or to walk on-site to see it. I feel it's important for me to leave some thoughts here especially since this is a Christian school that I went to as a kid. I attended from 3rd through to 6th grade. The biggest reason I'm giving it a 2 star is the overall experience I had going here. Being a homeschool transfer it was honestly permanently scarring to be blunt. In the time I was there a plethora of unfortunate and excruciatingly painful things occurred. The lack of nurturing was clearly apparent. Being homeschooled until then, I was extremely sheltered from a lot of inappropriate things (swearing, cussing, gang signs, sexual innuendos, etc). Needless to say, not only did the school leadership not know what to do with me (not Tim, he was always kind to me thank God) but I was suspended a few times and punished overall. To this day I still do not understand why I'm carnation Roland - instead of suspending me did not take me to the side and EXPLAIN why the things I was punished for (F word, Humping, middle finger, etc) was inappropriate and not becoming of a Christian! We as Christian adults have a duty to teach/nurture kids and young adults who do not know the evils of the world - not just punish them due to school bureaucratic reasons. As far as I've heard School leadership (not Church) STILL are so blind to this.. It's actually rather ridiculous at this point. To keep this at least a little short last thing I want to talk apart is the bullying. The bullying at Faith while I was there was atrocious and it was the start of my still ongoing depression/lovesick depression. There were times when I was set up to say the F word, cuss word, gang sign, etc. due to nativity from being in homeschooling for so long and need for friendship I easily fell for it. I was always punished or given demerits. I told the truth and was ignored. This happened 3rd-6th grade, no pity was given to me and I am to this day severely scarred from it. I - as many kids do in grades 5-6 developed a crush on a girl.. As always I was labeled a creep and like before.. I'm severely Lovesick Depressed constantly. Overall I don't have any fond memories of FB as the pain overrides the few joyous memories I have of Paster Tim. I never felt like I fit in nor was accepted on a baseline. Honestly it's still a decent school academically but on a spiritual level it really did leave A LOT to be desired and this is just a shorter review. *This review has been edited to provide additional information and context* I went to Harvard and attended Faith Baptist from 1st to 10th grade. However, I would have never gotten into Harvard if I had stayed at Faith Baptist. A handful of leaders within the school did everything they could to keep me from getting into a good school. The high school principal asked me to remove my name from the election ballot for class secretary in 9th grade because I wasn't "someone who should represent the school." The college counselor who laughed to the point of tears when I told her I wanted to go to an Ivy League college. Then followed up with "sweetie, the best I can do is make you a plumber." Mind you, I was at the top of my class and a star student. I was pulled out my AP History class so the school principal could criticize me and talk about how my appearance didn't "glorify God" in front of several other school administrators--all of whom stood there and did nothing while a child was bullied by a middle-aged "adult." Without fail, every history textbook for non AP-courses had condensed the Black American history to 2 pages. They failed to teach many basic concepts that prepares students for the real world. When Obama was elected in 2008, he was openly regarded as an un-American terrorist because of his "strange name" When the 2010 Haiti Earthquake happened, they described it as deserved because the people practiced witchcraft (read : indigenous religion). Then recruited people to be missionaries there. Sounds pretty neo-imperialistic. Perhaps worst of all, they cloak their racism, sexism, and hatred in religion. Specifically, Southern Baptist, which is a "Christian*" denomination that exists because certain "Christians*" didn't want an integrated church during the civil rights era. *True Christianity is rooted in love and compassion. I remain a proud Christian and am happy to speak with anyone whose religious experience has been soured by awful people who spew hatred in the name of God.* My potential was almost extinguished by that farce of an institution. I shudder thinking about the countless lives that were and are being damaged because of Faith Baptist Schools. I'm sure their response will be some form of the following: "This is shocking!" "No one here is racist and we treat our students equally!" (Frankly, you don't sit in every room with students and teachers, you do not know what is said 24/7. To minimize it instead of address the situation directly is wrong.) "Many of our students go to great colleges!" (With "great" mostly referring to West Coast Baptist College and Pensacola Christian College, which are basically Faith Baptist 2.0) "Wait wait, we have ONE class that teaches black history in depth" (Which is AP History. A course organized by the College Board and not Faith Baptist). The school is not all bad. There are some good Christians there, and the negative experiences I personally had all happened in High School, which has a different administration than the elementary school. Unfortunately, there are just some really really really awful people too. And rather than transition them out of their position or undergo proper training and take action after complaints are filed, the school remains in denial. If you absolutely must send your children to this school, please pay close attention to them, what they are being taught, and be prepared to be your own college counselor. read more

Also they are greedy, if you decided that your kids are not going back to schooI they are not going to refund the enrollment fee, I understand that enrollment fee is non refundable for a normal situation, But c'mon.. don't be greedy.. this is a different situation now.. we have a pandemic and for some family it's hard, you guys should know better that lots of people needs that. My child has been going here for 3 years now since K-5. She absolutely loves it and so do I. You can see that their teachers really care for their students even after they are no longer in their class. They are very communicative and willing to help every child so no child is left behind. One thing I noticed right away is how well disciplined the students are and well-mannered. Their academics are excellent - about 1-2 grade levels above other schools. There is a lot of work, but you'll get into a rhythm and be able to manage. I also love the free daycare before and after school (8-4:30). Their tuition is very well-priced especially for what you are receiving. Class sizes are big, but the teachers make it work and are able to keep their students in order. I also love that they keep their school secure with security guards at each gate. If you haven't checked them out yet, I recommend you do so for the next school year. read more

We are very pleased with the school. The teachers are friendly, hard-working, and loving towards all students. Not just ours. We see in the way they interact. My wife graduated from here, and because of her similar great experience, it was an easy decision. Our daughter started K4 here, and we plan on keeping her here as long as possible. Our family is so grateful that God in His providence led us to Faith Baptist. The staff from the security, cafeteria, teachers, janitorial, office staff to the principal are all amazing. They are kind and they are all excellent at what they do. It really blows my mind how the school is so organized and runs so well. For example they are thoughtful to stagger school dismissals so there isn't so much traffic. Our friends who attend other schools say they arrive 1hr before dismissal to avoid the crazy back up of traffic and it is something I've never experienced at Faith Baptist. Staff are hands on to keep the flow of cars moving during pick up and drop off and they open doors for students and make sure they are safely in the car or provide ample parking so that we can walk our children to their classrooms. I have seen the other reviews before making my decision to enroll my child and some of them were concerning but, I have to say now that my child is attending, the negative reviews I was previously concerned about really seem off.. I hope that my review will help anyone who is considering sending their child to Faith Baptist. I've seen teachers like Mrs. Coleman working so hard to make sure her students are excelling academically while being a spiritual mentor to them, I also saw her husband Mr. Coleman drawing on her whiteboard little characters for the children before class began. It really feels like everything the school does is so thoughtful and they go the extra mile. They don't have to but it's just who they are. They even offer extended hours before and after school for childcare so working parents don't need to make other arrangements. And they make tuition very affordable unlike many other private schools. Also I LOVE the diversity at this school. It feels like I'm getting a tiny glimpse of heaven! I always say it's like the United Nations. Academically, the school is so advanced. You can tell that there is so much thought that is put into the curriculum. It is rigorous and we appreciate that the school cares to challenge and help students succeed academically. My sons absolutely loved going here for elementary school, all the teachers were amazing! They were there for most of their education except for the last 2 years because the high school program is so under developed. The main reason my sons wanted to leave was because of the fact the hair mandates for boys. And their sports program is horrible except for the football. Everything else they said was perfect for them but they didn't want their school to force them how their hair should look. I understand that men obviously shouldn't have a feminine look but men with long hair most of the time aren't feminine. If i could change some things about this school it would be: pay more attention to basketball and soccer programs, and change the hair mandates read more

Faith Baptist offers an educational experience that I don't think you can find anywhere else in Los Angeles. The teachers are exceptional and caring...and my kids have come from a homeschool situation and transitioned into traditional Highschool with much loving help from their teachers. Mrs. Shipman helped my daughter in geometry (her first traditional math class) and Mr. Misseijer has been the most incredible history teacher and presents a fair and balanced view of history. I usually do not take the time to write reviews, but I believe that it is necessary to have my experience informed to future parents of Faith Baptist students. My children have been students at this school since they were in fifth grade. My son is in ninth, and my daughter now in the eighth grade. I have several complaints about my daughter's previous teachers, Miss Campos and Miss Robles. Miss Campos taught my daughter's pre-algebra and P.E. class. She complained to me that Miss Campos was constantly letting her older students (from previous years) come into her classroom whenever they wished; even during testing hours. This caused my daughter to be unable to focus on either her tests/work. For P.E., I have noticed her telling me that "Miss Campos didn't make us to P.E." numerous times. I asked her why that was so, and she simply shrugged and said, "she was doing something else." This infuriated me. It is the teacher's job to make sure that the students are properly doing their tasks. This is unacceptable. She also had several thoughts on Miss Robles, her seventh grade Physical Science teacher. She informed me that her teacher, Miss Robles, is constantly talking too fast and isn't giving her proper instruction. At first, I thought that this was because she wasn't fully paying attention to the material. However, as she told me more about it, I decided to watch one of her pre-recorded science lectures to see what the problem was. After a couple of lectures, I came to realize that she does need to slow down and break the material down for her students. The curriculum is poorly organized, which led to my daughter being lost in this class. However, after a bit of assistance, she was able to get proper notes. Overall, most of my experience with Faith Baptist wasn't too terrible. Excluding the topics mentioned above and some of the students who my children said did not show godly characteristics, I believe that Faith Baptist Schools is a wonderful learning and spiritual experience for both of my children. read more

My family and I love Faith Baptist Schools. We are extremely blessed. Our Daughter Sophia has been here since K5 and is now in 7th grade. We have had a fabulous experience here at Faith Baptist Schools. To begin, the entire staff is incredibly amazing. The review of a parent here is what I as a parent really felt which is why I didn't let my kids stay in Faith for junior and senior high. In fairness, elementary level was great including the teachers my kids had (Ms. Feigley, Mrs.S. Saulog, Mrs. Secillano, Mrs. Mikhail to name a few). There's really a lot of homework but it helped my kids develop their good study habits and time management. Some junior high teachers are okay. During 6th grade my daughters got fed up with some teachers saying bad things about LGTBQ community, against the previous President Obama, teachers pushing for their own political beliefs like Mr. Brock (not working there anymore). And now they have another teacher. Even wearing a mask is political for him! He attended a rally, demanding an early reopening a few months back. Where is California now in the infection rate chart, Mr. M? To think you have past and present student followers in your social media account! Do you not teach science at your school? Is the pandemic a hoax? Does wearing a mask show to which political group you belong? Please, be a good example to these kids. If you think whatever you post will just cause division within your students or hatred towards other people please think it over. Do you really want to be the cause of division inside and outside the classroom? School admin will defend teachers like Mr. M but the past and present students are the real witnesses to what he's saying inside the classroom. A toxic class environment is not suitable for proper learning. And so my daughter graduated high school with high honors in a different school. To other parents, again elementary level in this school is great and fun because of the teachers who really teach, who really love their kids to learn and treat them equally BUT after 5th grade you may want to explore other schools. I graduated from this school about 4 years ago and I have to warn other parents from sending their kids here. I attended faith from 1st-12th grade, hence I am well familiarized with the system and how my classmates were. The girls in my grade were horrid. All everyone cared about was going to a Christian college, majoring in something like communications or Bible studies and getting married before the age of 22. While none of this is wrong, they would actually look down on other girls who would want to take an alternate path in life and pursue a science major and attend professional school. The girls were manipulative, mean and had absolutely no goal in life. It's funny because they would act like this and then tell the world that they're Christian. That was their sole purpose in life. There were only about 2-3 kids, including me, from my entire graduating class that have pursued a STEM major in college and want to build a career. The counselor at Faith Baptist really discouraged all the seniors from pursuing anything that is academically rigorous. I remember the counselor laughing at me when I told her I wanted to pursue medicine. She told me that I'm a girl and medicine is a mans job. She also hinted very clearly that I would never make it in such a rigorous field. I have graduated from a UC 1 year early and am now attending medical school so the joke is on them. Several of my female classmates who also wanted to pursue careers in engineering and health care heard the same thing from this counselor. My whole point is that if you want your kid to be motivated to build a career and to pursue academically rigorous subjects and not be let down by sexist remarks, do not put them in this school. If you want your kid to go to a Christian college after high school and make minimum wage, then by all means put them in this school. read more

My daughter has been attending this school since she was 3 she is now 9 and my son started this year for 7th grade. The school is structured and demands the BEST from their students and teachers. I needed my children in a school that made the students accountable and the parents... everything can't fall on the staff. The fairest, kindest people you ever will meet and have your kids around. Worth every penny. The church is just as amazing! Pastor Tim is an amazing Pastor and with all of his members he knows who you are, and your family, He and his beautiful wife Kelly send out HAND WRITTEN encouraging cards to me all the time and they pray for me. In addition, I have been soul winning with the church- This is when the members of the church go door to door to visit people that came to the church for a visit and I went door to door with Pastor Tim. they are extremely expensive and do anything to get money out of you (fees, expensive lunch, redundant field trips, charging more than they should for food, & the banquet tickets are way over what they should be), and there is also hair in their food. They also charged $3 so students could watch the Staff/Student Volleyball game! $6,000 tuition is more expensive than going to CSUN w/o dorms. the teachers complain about the school's online student portal and have an attitude of the school's way of handling issues. the students act like they are from nasty public schools. Don't waste your money or kid's childhood here. read more

Faith Baptist school is great. My both kids have been attending school since they were 4 years old. We love the school. The school, including teachers and principals, provide first in class christen education and cares deeply for each individual student. The school record of students attending universities after high school is so impressive. We actually met with a collage counselor a school before my kid started 9th grade. Mrs. Packard gave us a plan of action for what needs to be done before graduating from high school to be able to be accepted to top collages. The Principal, Mrs. Stephanie Rasmussen, she is wonderful and caring about the children, especially the ones who require more attentions and are more trouble than the others. There is simply not enough words to express how much we love this school and all of its staff, teachers and community. Our son attends their K2 program and it has been nothing but a positive experience from the very beginning. Although it's a rough program to get into (very limited space), it is well worth the wait. The teachers Mrs. Roberson, Mrs. Diaz and Mrs. Adan are so kind, loving and gentle with our son. They treat him as if he is their own as they do with all the students. Our son is so excited to "go to school" and comes home happy and learning something new everyday. He has already learned his ABC, colors and numbers at 2 (not to mention he has only been going a few months). Everyone at this school is always smiling and happy - it's a great start to everyday. I would highly recommend this school to any parent looking for a loving, safe, caring, nurturing environment for their children! read more

My children have been attending Faith Baptist since my daughter was in Kindergarten and my boys were in K4. I have nothing but praise for this school as I have seen my children thrive academically and spiritually in our eight years of experience here. This school is phenomenal. Academically, it is very rigorous, constantly pushing my children to be better. I will not deny that it is an intense school academically, but they are well prepared for high school and the university because of the skills they learn here. They are also wonderful children with respect for others. I am often given compliments on how kind, thoughtful, and well behaved they are. Besides their genuine good character, they are articulate, critical thinkers, thinking about others first before themselves. The teachers are incredible, always striving to teach their students with enthusiasm wanting them to learn and be their best. So far, all of their teachers have been more than willing to meet with parents and always avail themselves for any last minute questions or for any help needed. I went here during high school it was the worst experience I have gotten from a school the teachers graduated from a NON accredited college so there degree isn't even legit! There are people who actually paid a lot of money and worked on years to be called a Dr at a real university. They don't deserve the title Dr... Dr in what? Not Biology... Some of them go to Pensacola christian college a non accredited college so the Dr in their name is not legit. Went to. Church here and did not like it.. So I went back to my old church. There are biased people who work at the school and give five stars. Funny if you go to a real university and want a job here as a teacher you won't get it! Unless you go to their church and have dinner with them Then you get the job ... it does not matter what diploma you have ! this is a joke... Not a real school read more

My children have been attending Faith Baptist School for the past year, as we transferred from another private school that we were not happy with. We have been so impressed by Faith Baptist and its amazingly caring and lovely staff/principal, and we are so thankful that we made the change for our children. Not only are they thriving academically (which was a huge leap from their other previous private school in the area), but they are also flourishing socially and emotionally. I cannot say enough about how much the staff members truly love and care for each child as an individual. They are creative and lovely individuals with your child's best interest at heart. The staff is able to incorporate children with all different learning styles, and your children will exceed expectations under their tutelage. The children are well behaved and loving at the school, which is a large credit to their teachers and administration who model this behavior themselves. Because the children are able to fully focus without distraction in this type of atmosphere, they are truly able to maximize their learning in school. I cannot believe that my daughter is able to write in cursive and do multiplication tables in first grade; accordingly, my K4 son is already reading and doing addition!! Love this school - it truly is a hidden gem and we are so glad to have found it! read more
