Which actually I think, makes the whole business of buying shoes a lot easier. The shoes for sale are usually the ones that didn't sell in store from last season, if you need to be up to date with fashion, this store is not for you - however, I'm all about comfort so will happily where last seasons shoes! particularly at half the price. They have a childrens section, but they don't offer the fitting service, so I tend to avoid buying kids shoes from this store.

The store is very small, which makes it a little hard to get around, but this is only really a problem at the weekends, when the store is busy. In terms of style these guys seem to have my look down. I've found the overall quality of the material is pretty high, which is a massive jump from the tacky plastic based cloths of Primarni, and the pricing is just under the line of the likes of Warehouse, French Connection and River Island. Whilst I'd prefer to buy something unique from a vintage shop, for some staple pieces to match in with what I've got these guys are just the business. On average the staff encounters I've had have been pleasant and whilst I wouldn't go for the shoes they've on offer, as I don't believe the quality is really there, overall you can't really go wrong with DP. They're brother branch Burtons is also great for quality men's clothing. I've already reviewed it, but it's worth mentioning I bought an entire suit, including shoes, for my boyfriend a while back for about £150. Really great value!

You can also pop in whenever you want with no intention of buying and the staff will check that you're childs shoes are fitting correctly! ( I thought that this may be a con at first, and the staff would insist each time that shoes need replacing, but I've been sent home many times assured that I don't need to shell out for new shoes just yet!) Personally I like the sales in Schuh as you can often find a decent pair of shoes for a pretty good price, prices resembling that of TK Maxx and often with a good range of sizes. I also like the service you get in Schuh, obviously if it's not so busy you feel a bit more pressure to buy with the sales assistant hovering near-by but all in all they don't care if you don't buy them there and then. One thing I don't like, being a size 6, is how all the really pretty shoes are put on display as size 4, of course they look dainty in a size a but up it a few notches and it ain't so adorable.

Being a big foot, I can browse the boys and girls ranges for footwear, which comes in handy for the guys section, as many girl's leisure shoes tend to only come in the sickly colours of baby pink, lilac and aqua, like women folk aren't supposed to admire or appreciate or want to wear something a little more bolder. I don't know where this preconception comes from, but sometimes I am thankful for my big feet, as they allow me to step into the chunky cool and brightly adorned men's shoes, especially with brands like Osiris and the Nike 6.0 range, where I fell in love with Glow in the Dark 6.0s. Heaven!!! I already have the shoelaces waiting. Prices here are just as competitive as places like Office, and pretty much most shoe outlets in the area. Sale season is always good in Schuh as they do like to slash the prices for a bargain. This particular Schuh, well it's a bit chilly. Not in atmosphere, well yes in atmosphere of course, but not in the way of the staff or anybody else's snooty attitudes, more the temperature. There's lots of open space in the middle of the store which gives commission hungry staff the opportunity to pounce on you, but more often than not they're a helpful bunch. This Schuh has it's own Clarks' Originals section, which I find just brilliant. I like the Clarks' Original styles, and I am always baffled that even dipping into most Clarkes shoe stores doesn't provide an Original's range or section or anything. So if you want to browse shoes, accessories and the elusive Clarks' Originals...hit Schuh White Rose Centre. Woop!
