This place is relatively new and if your in Dun laoghrie it's most definitley worth a visit if your peckish. Its an all glass restaurant built from red brick. It overlooks the peoples park and in the near distance, the sea. I went there for Christmas lunch with my family and it was a great lunch and I have absolutely zero complaints about the food quality, it was top nosh! The reason it loses a couple stars though are because the menu is very small and limited so you can't be a picky eater, luckily I eat everything but that's not the case for a lot of others. The fact that it's made from redbrick and glass also means that it's very very loud inside with everyone talking as it doesn't absorb any sound and it just bounces around the room, very hard to hear your own conversation. And my final complaint / warning is that the ginger beer they serve has a lot more ginger in it than you might expect, it's flavored naturally with powder ginger and really gives you a kick, so beware! Apart from a couple things if your looking for a decent place to eat, it really stands out over everywhere else in Dun laoghrie and the price is very moderate too! read more

New to the People's Park and welcome too. We only stopped in for a coffee to go - I was;t hold out much hope as the takeaway section of the restaurant was jammers! But hats off - My flat white was good and what surprised me most was the coffee was at the correct temperature for a flat white. Had a lovely lunch here - the menu is recently updated and has good variety of reasonably priced starters & main courses. The seared tuna salad was lovely & fresh accompanied by a nice chilled glass of white wine. Service was polite & timely. The only issue with the restaurant is when it fills up, the noise level from chatter raises the decibel levels somewhat. read more

Gotta love this place! Perfect for casual Saturday later lunches with friends/dates/fathers etc. The food is of good quality and for the amount you pay it is phenomenal! I've always gone with the soup and a sandwich - sandwiches are huge so have actually split them in two with the person I'm with. Last time had one with chicken and mozzarella - they heated it so the cheese kind of just melted down in the bread, all moist and soft. Mm. Soup was a some kind of vegetable version - nothing spectacular but well seasoned and with a good thickness. You're sitting right in the shop - even though this means it may get loud at times I find it more buzzy and vibrant and perfect for people watching (you'll see everything from women in their late twenties buying organic super expensive tomatoes, to old ladies with diamonds in their ears doing their weekly shopping, to tourists that have read about this place in some guidebook, desperatly looking for a gift to their foodie aunt..). But IF you feel like it - you can buy your food upstairs then go down to the cellar, order a glass of wine, and maybe let your Saturday afternoon turn into night... read more

Met friends for dinner, nothing exceptional, service was fine but ambiance was more of a casual restaurant where you might stop in during the day for lunch. The four star reviews clearly are reviewing this as a coffee shop, lunch spot. However totally agree with the reviewer who thought dinner menu was quite pricey. My impression was that they are trying to be all things to all people, casual cafe during the day, fine dining at night. We were there on a Thursday evening, had to circle around to find parking, there were about 6 other diners besides our party of 5, I guess that says it all. I could see this being a lovely spot on a summer day, but with all the glass and minimalist design it was not very inviting on a cold night (if the heat was on it was hard to tell). read more

had a lovely Sunday brunch here. We were 4 adults and a 6 year old and a 10 month old. Staff were very accomadating with tables an menus etc and a pleasure to deal with. Minute was good to very good. Wide range of lunch items but not so much breakfast. Prices were a little steep but only slightly compared to Dublin prices. Athmosphere was buzzing but not too loud. This is a review based purely on the take-away coffee in Fallon and Byrne, however, I would still only rate it 2.5 stars. Coffee wasn't great, despite being from 3fe. Tasted burnt/metallic. Milk was also borderline burnt (I worked as a barista for a few years, so I'm a stickler for these details). I had been excited to try here out, but am quite disappointed. read more

I was really excited to see Fallon and Byrne opening in the People's Park. It's right beside where I grew up, and I thought it would be a lovely addition to the area. But it just doesn't seem to quite work. The space is beautiful, they've converted the old Victorian tea rooms in a nice way that feels both modern, and in keeping with the space. The menu and service let it down though. First of all, the menu seems quite expensive for what it is. The food is fine, but with mains ranging between €24-29 (unless you want a €17 burger), I'd expect a bit more. Second, the service was pretty poor on our visit. We got one course, but were there for two hours! We were given dessert menus at one point, but half an hour later no-one had come back for our order so we gave up. I'm a big fan of the Fallon & Byrne wine cellar in town, the food is much more appropriate for this kind of venue. Would love to see them switch it up! read more

I think Fallon & Byrne is a nice addition to the park. It has a great outdoor space when the weather is nice and also has good views out onto the park from the inside. The sit down restaurant is on the expensive side but I had a really lovely Christmas lunch there that was worth the money. Coffees are good and takeaway food is surprisingly not crazy expensive. It's a good option for a coffee or quick lunch at the park or for a nice occasion. read more

They don't do breakfast, was disappointed, just coffee and pastry, and wrapped sandwiches, was a lovely morning and would have liked to eat outdoors. They should consider a cooked breakfast menu. read more
