There was a decent selection of pasta at a very good price, with several brands outside of the store brand available for purchase. The store was clean and in good condition; really the only things that I didn't like was the unfriendliness of the person staffing the self-checkouts (no greeting or acknowledgement at all) and that despite the checkout having an English option, the receipt still printed in Italian. Seems like an easy fix!

They kept their eggs on shelves instead of the cooler section. I will say one thing that made this place a "Do not return" spot for me was the there was several rotten fruits and vegetables left mixed in with the others. You can tell they had been there for days and no one checks. They charge for bags here so keep that in mind and plan accordingly. I will say I like the hrs of operation.

This Esselunga is located within a mall, which I have to say is a new one for me, but the location was good for us to walk to and from our apartment and they had a nice variety of items available for purchase. Staff was nonexistent but we were able to find most of what we wanted without any assistance.

This is a small grocery store with a large selection of wines in all price ranges. Upon entering you may think you are in a wine store. Walk up two steps into their wine section, pass straight through and you enter the main store. There is a selection of fresh produce, a meat counter, frozen foods, cleaning supplies, snacks, beer, etc. All the things you need in a compact location. Keep an eye out as they have all sorts of items in unexpected places. Ritz crackers and Pringles are near produce. Lay's are near pasta. Bouillon near floor level in frozen foods. What you are looking for is probably there, just keep looking.

They have the basics in dry and refrigerated groceries, plus some take-and-bake and ready to eat options. There's focaccia, chicken, and salad if you need to be on the go. Prices seem to be standard. In addition to the typical line, they also have self checkout kiosks, which can make this a quick trip. I appreciate the convenience of popping in just for a cheap bottle of tea and not having to wait around.

The layout of the store was universally easy to understand and follow. It is located on a side street, off the main road, from this main road there are multiple tram services, around the city and Milan area. Prices are a tad expensive, especially on drinks which have a huge markup compared to a larger supermarket, but ultimately you're paying for the convenience of getting a refrigerated drink, which was useful in Milan's hot summer weather for me. The staff were friendly, and service was quick enough, but again no self-service tills do slow one down, but I didn't see many stores, especially under the Carrefour brand have these during my travels. A small and reasonably tidy store, and a useful stop in a useful location to get a drink at prices designed at charging you for convenience. 3*
