This location is a bit more well organized; however, that was really the only thing it had going for it. The selection and prices were really not very good. Some items were as much or more expensive than going to a regular grocery store. Along with that, despite the mask mandate, nobody here seemed to care about wearing masks, social distancing, sanitizing, or anything Covid related. The woman working came out without a mask to ring up my items, but did go back for one after she saw me wearing mine. But otherwise she didn't wear one and neither did any of the other customers.

Madison seems to have 3 types of thrift stores. Goodwill, St Vinnies, and those run by churches…read moreand/or church ladies. This is the latter type, and they all seem to be very similar (Bethesda, Agrace, etc). Less crowds, traffic, anxiety, and clutter than Goodwill and St Vinnies, but also less selection. Check back regularly and you will find some treasures. For the most part the prices are fair. If I specifically need something, I start with Goodwill, because I have the best chance of browsing. But I dont always feel like stopping in Goodwill just to browse. Versus it can be very peaceful to stop in Boomerangs, or similar. I've probably been there a dozen times since they opened, and bought something 3 of the times. They have furniture, which not all thrift stores carry. The staff has always been helpful.

Everything is set up on long tables that run the length of the warehouse. Things are more or less sensibly grouped together - bedding down at one end, fishing and outdoor supplies in one area, work gloves/gardening stuff together, and so on. Some things are really well priced, and I've never come across anything that's completely unreasonable. The highest prices usually come with Packer/Badger gear and plush throws. Your best deals come with evergreen items - things that don't go bad or change with the season. Campfire forks, fishing lures, and welding gloves will all be as good as they were when they were manufactured and will still work no matter how long they've been sitting there with the dust collecting on them. The "industrial-strength" sunblock for $1.99 that expired two years ago? Probably not so much. There's not a ton going on in the area, so if you need a break from your campsite it's not the worst way to spend a half hour.
