It's good for Williamston and other area small towns to have a department store like Belk in the…read morearea. The interior was clean, and items for purchase were well displayed with well stocked shelves. Belk (maybe the whole department store concept) has changed from being a place with great personal service to a store with close to no assistance and only a couple of counters to pay for your purchase. I did find what I was looking to purchase, and they were at a 50% discount. The checkout person was nice and helpful.

This place is ideal for my grandma, where there are lots of paisley, polyester options. I won't be going back. It's a shame, since Williamston doesn't have any shopping options.

She was actually acknowledging people as they entered the store (Good morning! Here to shop before it snows I see) and as she was ringing up the purchases. What a welcome change to some less than pleasant experiences at other locations. (Capital Blvd in Raleigh - you are #1 on that list) The prices of most items are now $1.25. The store has done a good job with signage so customers can know which items are at the new price point and those that are not. Overall good supply of merchandise. Some departments were showing the effects of supply chain shortages.

"you get what you pay for". Do not let that discourage you because, there are some value to be found here. In my opinion DT is ideal for seasonal decorations because they are cute and inexpensive, giving you the opportunity to decorate on the cheap. Anything gift wrapping related DT is also a good stop. From wrapping paper, gift bags & tissue paper they usually have a variety for various occasions. Since those things are usually ripped and discard why not get it for a $1.00. Last but not least, any odds and ends you may need for a craft project, of course depending on the project, I would suggest stopping here before you go to a more expansive retailer. If you can possible find something you may need that doesn't have to be high end, why not potential get it for a $1? Especially if will do the same job as the one you may pay more for. Just saying!
