This was my first experience with any optometrist ever. The staff was succinct, well spoken, and courteous. I first met with Brittany. She was very warm and open to the initial exam. She explained everything to me in detail all while having pleasant small talk that helped me remain in a comfortable and friendly atmosphere. Next came Dr. Johnson. Amazing knowledge of the condition my eyes were in, with a thorough and equally as informative approach in the latter part of the exam. Every aspect was covered and recommendations of what was best for my eye health was given in a thorough and professional manner. Lastly, came the fitting for frames and lenses. I wish I could remember the name of the wonderful woman that assisted me as she followed in-suit with the same professional, yet comfortable and inviting, approach to patient support. We truly looked over all the options to find the most comfortable and attractive pair of glasses. We clearly found a "winner" in the selection. The choices were vast and diverse, yet not overwhelming. I felt the amount of choices to be just right. I'm not exactly a fan of selection that is so large that it feels like shopping in a box store. I left a previous optometrist because of his abruptness and was always feeling like I'm rushed. He made me feel my questions were not important and were "dumb". The final straw was when the staff continued to overcharge me, and I spent too much time doing their accounting work for them. Also, everything they provided was typed on paper, not computer generated billing. Everything I noted about my previous optometrist is just the opposite with Dr Eric Johnson and his staff. Even when they were overbooked due to his illness, he still took the time to spend with me and ask me if I had any questions which he answered. I am new to this practice. I had an appointment to be seen in a month, but had an emergency and needed to be seen the day I called. The young man that answered the phone was very courteous and accommodating. He was able to get me in within 2 hours. From check in, to seeing the ladies in the back to the visit with Dr. Meadows, my experience was top notch. Once I got into the room, Dr. Meadows came in almost immediately. This was my first eye exam with Family Eye Center. I was extremely pleased with the care I received. Everyone in the office was great the work with. I did not feel pressured at all. Dr. Meadows is a great listener. She never rushes during the visit and is very thorough. The office staff always seems preoccupied when it's time to check out.
