Unicorn Hot Chocolate for YYC Hot Chocolate Fest
    L R.

The Blueberry Lemonade popsicle is tart with just enough sweetness! Also try creative concoctions of popsicles such as Grasshopper Pie popsicle made with mint ice cream, chocolate cookie crumble and real crickets then dipped in dark chocolate and sprinkled with edible 24K gold flecks. Killer cookie dough, no baking required. Try the peanut butter, its got Reece's pieces and chucks of Reese's peanut butter cups! For YYC Hot Chocolate Fest they created a rainbow sprinkled, cotton candy garnished white hot chocolate complete with a rainbow sour tape skewer for a unicorn horn!

Cookie dough & beaver balls from Family Freezed at Crossiron

Family Freezed is killing it with their location in Crossiron Mills and their tasty treats. I first heard of a cookie dough restaurant in NYC and was so jealous we didn't have one in YYC but then I heard that Family Freezed had expanded their lineup to include delicious cookie dough to their menu. We had to take a roadtrip! We headed out to Crossiron, sampled a few of the flavours and picked out options and toppings. I had the classic chocolate chip with mini eggs as a topping - it was so good! Super satisfying, I had to eat it all in two different sittings. Who doesn't love cookie dough? They also have a great selection of popsicles (mint mojito is my favoutie) and they sometimes have pup-sicles which Maverick loves and a great selection of lemonade and beaver balls.

Jill taking the familyfreezed Popsicle cart out for a whirl!

I got to try their mojito popsicle at the Calgary Car Show last year, and I've been searching to get more ever since! They're incredible!!!

For the past couple of months, I'd pass by the ice cream and dairy section of every grocery store…read morethat I visit. For some reason, the pandemic has made me crazy for ice cream, Mr Freeze, sorbet ,... pretty much any frozen treat that has sugar in. I love the minimalistic packaging from Righteous. When I first saw the dairy-free raspberry lime sorbetto at Longo's, I pounced on it like a cat that hasn't seen the light of day. I wanted it badly and didn't need to think twice about it. The raspberry lime sorbetto is heavenly! It's tangy, not too sweet, and satisfies my sweet tooth. So good! It's bright and makes my tastebuds dance. Last weekend, I was at Sobeys and Righteous varieties were on sale. The amount of time that I spent looking at all the flavours probably would have melted the popsicles had I opened the freezer door. I settled for the dairy-free mango pineapple sorbetto. It felt like early summer with each spoonful. The flavours were so fresh and bright. I have repurposed the first empty container. It stores tea nicely. I also like that it's a clear container. I can simply look at it and know what's inside without unscrewing it. I recently found out that you can do pickup orders at its store in Calgary. I wish that I lived closer. I love the dairy-free line. Righteous has just introduced its plant-based line of ice cream. Although I want to visit this location when I am in Calgary, I am so grateful that I can get my fix by dropping by my local grocery store these days. So delicious! (166)

Definitely one of the better gelato that I ever had. I loved it. The fruit passion lemonade was not bad either. They are only located in Calgary. The reason why I got to try it was because they sponsored the Ride To Conquer Cancer event. I was one of the riders. So I was lucky to be given the opportunity to try their gelato. If I go to Calgary, I will definitely go for their Gelato again.

Easy to find via Google Maps. Lots of parking as lots of stores share the parking lot…read more Menu is quite overwhelming with soooo many options for my first time here. Staff was friendly enough to walk me through ALL the options which was so nice as I learned they can dip the cheesecake for you, you can sample the chocolate dips, toppings cost for each one you order, and they can pour the flavored chocolate over if you get it in a cup vs cone. 1 single-person bathroom was clean. I got the soft serve (only 1 flavor - vanilla) with banana flavored chocolate and skor bits. I tried several of the dips - salted caramel, dulce de leche, cookie dough - but all were sooo sweet. Banana flavor was like having a chocolate coated banana. Skor bits were nice and crunchy. Vanilla ice cream was good but melted sooo fast. Friend got the soft serve with cheesecake chocolate (looked like white chocolate) with pistachios - pistachios were nice a crunchy too. He liked his. We found once the chocolate hardened it was really hard to eat with the weak plastic spoon and had to chip away at it which was quite messy and didn't lead to good chocolate to ice cream ratio. At one point I was just eating giant chunks of chocolate topping. Maybe easier in cone format? Overall there is sooo much here to try and I really enjoyed my banana-chocolate flavored chocolate ice cream even though it was ~6$.

The owners and managers should be ashamed of how they manage that location. To leave this person not full trained or comfortable is not only unjust for him, but not fair for your customers. He did go above and beyond to provide the best service he possibly could with the skills he had. All FOUR iPads were going off with orders. That is just cruel to leave him alone. Paying him most likely minimum wage. If I were him I would have walked out. Thank you young man for trying your best, shame on La Diperie.
