The cheese grits was not cheesy and both it and regular grits were visibly undercooked. There also was no butter for the grits or biscuits available. The manager was told but visibly seemed annoyed when the young clerk in the kitchen inquired regarding the butter. The smirk paid to her and me set me back. I purchased the breakfast anyway. Upon my second bite of the grits and eggs I crunched on a significant piece of egg shell. Okay, I took another bite and bit into another piece. As I am filling out this review I am still spitting out pieces of the egg shell. I hated to take the breakfast back but at the price I paid for it I feel my money could be spent cheaper somewhere else. I love Piggly Wiggly but I will not pay for slop. I know they can do better because I have bought their breakfast many times before and have not had any issues with the quality. Portions can sometimes be lacking but not an issue for me. My main concern is cleanliness and quality of the food I purchase. Management attention to care and training of its new employees in the kitchen would be a plus. To act indifferent to the employee and the customer is not an acceptable business practice.

I buy more than I should or need but being I'm from out of town, they have some things we don't have in my local supermarket, so I'll get some here. What I found out as I was walking out the door was fresh fruit are free as you walking out the door for children or anyone I guess. Apples or oranges. And through the door is an ice chest with free small bottles of water if you'd like one. I took one and as other elderly ladies were walking out I offered them one as well. That is very nice . The Laurel, MS location of Kroger has a worn out and depressing ambiance. This Kroger just seems to generally be a disappointment to me as they are usually out of what I'm looking for. The blueberries, raspberries and blackberries they offer here often don't look so fresh or appetizing. They seem to nearly always be out of heavy whipping cream and they rarely seem to keep the whole milk kefir in stock. The beer selection is really sad here and they don't stock what I'm looking for. On average my visits here are full of disappointments and I would much rather just go to Hattiesburg to visit the Rouse's that ALWAYS has what I want and need.

An employee badge #8147 Register #002 Store #00016 asked for my ID, after she looked at my ID, she said to me "Hong kong." I was confused at first when she said that to me because I'm of Asian descent. I asked her what did she say again? And she said to me again, "You're driver's license says you're from Hong Kong." From my understanding, I don't see anywhere on my ID that says "HONG KONG" and it's a American Driver's License. I was born in the States and I speak Perfect English and I can understand clearly when someone is trying to think they can get away with being racist against me because maybe she assumed I can't speak English well. I told her immediately that she is a racist person and that comment was uncalled for and I don't think it was funny at all. She didn't say anything afterwards besides "omg" under her breath. She didn't even apologize for her comment. I don't appreciate being discriminated against and I also don't think Greer Employees especially the store managers care about complaints from customers at all either because I called them and they told me that the store manager wasn't in until Monday. I talked to Deborah to let me speak with the store manager who passed the phone to Sarah and Sarah told me the store manager wasn't working until Monday. She gave me the corporate's number which is (251)457-8655. I will be calling on Monday and seeing if she actually did give me the corporate's number or a fake number to try and get rid of me. ‍ Also. I shop exclusively at Sunflower now that Greers has added a 10% surcharge on all their groceries (even premarked items). I do miss the deli but hopefully Rameys will put one in the poplarville store. Happy, friendly people work here...they greet every customer unlike Greers cashiers who rather text or chat amongst themselves. I haven't steppped foot in Greers since I was ripped off to tune of $18.96 on my grocery bill the 1st week they became "cash savers". What I found there was a actual butcher, employees who were polite,courteous, and eager to help you find what you need, as well as management staff working alongside their associates . Everyone, staff and customers alike all had smiles on their faces. The prices were reasonable, the meat was fresh, and it was well stocked. It is an older store but it was clean and well situated/organized. Store Specials begin every Friday and you can view the circular online as well as make out your list. My total bill was $129 and I got good quality food including canned, frozen, fresh meat and fresh produce. I am disabled and on a fixed income. I was able to manage this store and that means the world to me.. Parking was right in front and one of the associates put the items from my cart to the conveyor belt, bagged them, and then loaded them in my car!!!!!!! I didn't even have to ask! This is a true blessing. I am definately going to be a regular customer. Thank You Ramey's Marketplace!
