I've been coming here on and off for about 10 years. Let me be clear: this is not your high-end massage or luxury reflexology spot nor does it claim to be in any way. It's dated, dim, in a less-than-glamorous strip mall, and it can get ridiculously loud when staff answer the phone or greet walk-ins while they're working on you. Inconvenient, yes but I can look past that. So why do I keep coming back when I've had some of the best massages elsewhere? Because this is the only place that gets my plantar fasciitis to shut TF up. Specifically -- the owner (or at least I think he is). He's the one who usually greets you at the door and works the front desk. I come back because of him. When I ask for hard pressure, he goes HARD -- like clench-your-glutes hard -- and he keeps the pressure consistent the whole time. He gets deep into the bound fascia in a way that very few people ever do, fancy spa or not. So yes, I'll keep coming back whenever my feet are screaming for help. I pop in my AirPods, bring a little patience and flexibility, and let him work his magic. read more

I definitely do not recommend this place. I had a massage here a couple days ago, think Tuesday? The lady I had was Lisa (I overheard) she doesn't speak English and I kept telling her that she was hurting me because she was scratching the crap out of me and left me a pretty deep red mark! I kept saying "ow" "hurt" "scratch" as I try to show my nail. She then proceeds to show me her hands and I touch em and I'm like I don't know what it is but something is scratching me. I told her to do deeper because I went in for deep tissue massage. She can't do deep because when she does she's scratching me so I'm paying $70 for 1.5 hours , tipped her $10. I come here once a week! They recently increased their prices to $5. It's okay, I guess it's still cheap! Sometimes the massager assigned is good, sometimes not at all! I'd rather choose a guy; I want a hard massage. The thing I'd like them to do too is massage my head and face which the other Massage business gives.. The place needs a little TLC. The owner? (person in front) should calm down a little bit when he's talking. He gets mad easily! Also, they're so noisy, while massaging they keep talking to each other in Chinese. Got a full body $50 massage from this lady Lee Lee or ceecee something like that and I'm very pissed off. I felt like I was getting beat up with a bat on my back. Massage didn't feel like it was fully done correctly. She was missing some pressure points on certain parts of my body. I hated when she dug her elbow so deep into my back by my spinal chord. I was literally clinging on the table. The very next day my back was in so much pain I couldn't even move my head along with my body!! I've never felt so much pain in my life that I got so scared thinking she messed up my spinal chord! For few days I've been taking high dosages of Ibuprofen! I had a hard time sleeping! Every angle I moved in bed especially sideways was an excruciating pain! If I wasn't going to feel any better within the end of the week I would file a law suit! I seen my doctor today and she said I had a huge muscle spasm and whoever massaged me did way too much! Be careful to whom you get your massages from! Make sure they are licensed massage therapist! I like almost everything here hardly anything to complain about in comparison to all the good. Cheap prices, (even though the tip part they pressure you) nice rooms, well lit, very quiet, and ladies here whom ive experienced time with which were like all of them lol seemed very caring when working on me. One thing I would say is that sometimes they dnt have woman available which sux. I think atleast one should always be available for the consumer of your services. Also id like to note that everybody seems really kind here bt the owner seems very hasty when conducting financial business and my sister and I both have heard him yell and speak in a manner that was not pleasing to my ear when I was receiving services at his workers. Now I dnt care to meddle into those affairs bt i think the employee to employee and employee to employer talking here is a lil much for when im being massaged. Some masseuses here have laughed talking (in native tongue) to other coworkers who are also massaging ppl while massaging me! Ive had to tell them that was rude a few times. I asked the lady for more pressure more than three times, even showed her with my hands due to language barrier, but she just kept rubbing. She stopped to blow her nose twice, gross! Pleasantly surprised! Family Spa is an Asian massage parlor in a not-so-nice strip mall in Vallejo. While the outside atmosphere is dingy, the inside is a pleasant oasis from the frenetic street. Oh, and it's conveniently located next to Discount Cigarettes! The Experience: -Gentleman at the front desk let us in through the auto-locking front door. -We were walked straight back to our couples massage room passed two or three other deep tissue massage rooms and one pleasant looking room with leather recliners. -Once in the room we were instructed to place our clothes on a corner bench and lay face-down on the tables, to begin our massage. -Two women entered the room, greeted us with a hello, and began massaging in earnest. -At the end of the massage we were told "finished," and the women left. -Once we'd redressed and returned to the front our Masseuses thanked us and gave us cups of cold water. -We paid, we left. The Good: -VERY FIRM PRESSURE -Solid 60 minutes of treatment for our one hour massages -Prices are aggressively low ($40/hour) for a full body, deep tissue, hot-cloth, pleasant ambiance experience. -Never felt rushed or unsafe The Bad: -Strange techniques... including pressing hard on the sutures on my cranium, scratching my head and massaging my scalp, thumping on my heels and palms, rubbing my ears (though I have to admit I loved the ear rubs). -The massage tables were good for portable treatment, but I hope and imagine they have more permanent fixtures in the other rooms. The two they'd set up for our couples massage squeaked a bit. -Less than 10 words in English were spoken or understood. A bit more language would allow for a greater understanding. Been here three times, you cannot beat the prices. People complain that they are rough, but I love it. Perhaps I am a fan of more on the side of treating my sore and tired muscles. The specials (make sure to have cash to avoid fee for card) are probably the cheapest, everytime I been there the person I get does not quite speaks English but we manage. Crew members can be a bit loud, but that does not bother me. I guess my idea of a spa is different, I get a good massage and I feel like the massage itself is rough... Their massage tables are not as comfortable as I thought. I think they should also keep a comb or hair brush in their restrooms, since they massage the scalp and not everyone can wander around with their messed up hair. Looks a little dingy on the outside and it's not in the best neighborhood, but they do a fantastic job! Clean on the inside with a relaxing atmosphere. It isn't a Burke Williams, but thankfully the prices aren't either. Well worth the money. :) They're really nice and effective. Good amount of pressure as well! The oils are nice, and they clean it up with hot towels after which also feels pretty good. Couples massage rooms are available. They occasionally speak in Chinese to each other, but it doesn't really bother me. It also isn't so excessive that it's not relaxing. The walls don't go all the way up, so you can kind of hear what's going on in other rooms (but there really isn't much, so no problem there!) I went in for a 1 hour massage for $40. From the outside, this place looks a little suspicious. It's located in a old strip mall and advertises super low prices. Since I'm a little unethical I like living on the edge, I decided to try it out. I made a same day appointment on Mother's Day. I walked in half expecting to smell cigarettes and hear muffled sounds of ecstasy but I was greeted by a very nice man at the front desk who escorted me behind the curtains to a dimly lit room full of big comfy arm chairs. The place smelled pleasant and there was soothing instrumental music playing softly. The man pointed me to a seat and told me to get comfortable and brought me a big cup of hot tea. There were 6-8 seats available in this room and two other customers were enjoying a foot massage...one of which was snoring. I sat down, removed my sandals and got comfy with my cup of tea. The front desk man brought a few towels and a nice bucket of hot water for my feet. It was clear that he was going to be my masseuse. He got to work on my feet. He was gentle but very firm..exactly what I needed! After 30 mins of bliss, it was time for my body massage. He helped me gather my things and escorted me to a very nice and very clean private room across the hall. "Take off all of your clothes and lay down." Yes sir. I stripped and laid down on the table. After a few mins he returned and quickly got to work on all of my kinks. It hurt so good! Just what my body needed! He worked my head, neck, lower back and legs. I wished he would never end but when he did, my body was thanking him. I laid there in gratitude...and still hoping for a happier ending. This place is awesome! The price can't be beat and the location may not be the grandest but it's decent and parking is free. I'd rave more but here is why the 5th star is missing: -The masseuse/front desk person was busy the entire time I was there. He answered a cordless phone 2-3 times during my treatment and walked out a few times to speak to other staff and customers. He left me naked on the table three times and twice he left the door cracked open. It was Mothers Day and they were pretty busy so I understood but wasn't too thrilled about it. -The place did not smell like cigarettes but my masseuse did. I hate cigs and I'm pretty smell conscious so if you are sensitive to smells ask for a staff member that doesn't smoke. read more

I was in Vallejo working on a project for about four months. I love getting massages, but I don't usually have the time to get them as often as I would like. Usually, I have to wait till we are on a family vacation to get a massage, but I was lucky enough to have some down time so I decided this would be my chance to get a nice massage. I usually like going to Asian massage establishments, because most of them will offer foot massages and I'm a total sucker for a foot massage. When I arrived at their location I wasn't sure what to expect. It's kind of run down area where the place is located, which would normally mean the massage establishment was going to be some rub and tug situation. I decided since I just got done driving cross town that I would at least walk in and give the place a once over look around. You just never know what to expect and Family Spa is one of those places that you can't judge a book by it's cover. I was super pleased to see foot massage chairs at Family Spa. Once seeing that they offered Foot Massages my mind was put to ease, and I was more than willing to get a massage. I went with the Foot Massage, and I'm so happy I did. My feet were totally killing me and were in need of some much needed pampering. Like most Asian Massage Establishments that offer Foot Massage they cleaned my feet of any dead skin and then started the massage. The Foot Massage was pretty standard, which was what I was looking for and it ended with a shoulder rub. That too is also pretty much par for the course when getting a Foot Massage. I would probably give them four stars due to the location, but I have to give them an extra star for the price. I think this might have been the cheapest foot massage I've ever received (outside of Thailand of course). Overall, this was really just a good experience, and I've had my share of bad experiences before so I do know what I'm talking about here. Foot massage is not what we were used to. We got spoiled by Golden Tub Spa, where we've been going for almost 3 years now. I went with my husband and oldest daughter. I can only speak of my experience. We got there. Ambiance was nice. One lady set me up, a younger lady started on my right foot. She would keep gazing at the lady working on my daughter. When she was done, a guy named Tony, took over for the left foot and the rest of my massage. He had great hands! The 50 minute foot massage I could have gotten during a pedicure. The 10 minute body massage was a complete tease for a full body massage! I didn't like that they were talking in their language while I was trying to relax. You know how the ladies chit chat with each other when you're getting your nails done? Hella irritating! Then when we were paying, we had to pay extra when using a credit card. We tipped $4 each because of that. You should've seen the look of disgust on one of the masseuses faces! It was priceless. I'd go back to try a full body massage from Tony. Well I was looking for a Massage Parlor in Vallejo and this is it!!! $65.00 for 60 min foot and 60 min body massage works for me. Now here is the catch if you use a debit card you will be changed $5.00 more so bring cash, they would have gotten 5 stars from me, if I was informed when I was in the lobby. It does get a little noisy in there from time to time because of the men talking to much, it is clean and updated, I go to a lot of parlors and can tell the ones in the east bay that are cheating people and the ones that will beg for a tip and when you give them a tip they beg for more, when they really don't deserve it, but I did have a very good massage and I felt the results of it , so I gave the woman a much deserved tip, I usually give between $8.00 and $10.00 tips.I will be coming back with cash. read more

A new job can be hard on the body. I came to Family spa with some tight spots and sore spots the first time. When you walk in, the room has everything you need to relax. Soft Asian music, very clean, low light, clean scent , very comfortable. My masseuse began with a hot water footbath . I love it when the water is truly hot, but they did make it less hot for my friend.They were careful with working out the knots and soothing the aches. This incident occurred today, 3/18/16 at 10:45am. My husband called to make an appointment for both of us for tomorrow and the gentleman the picked up the phone rushed through the conversation, they took his phone number and kept saying "1 pm for couple. Thank you". My husband wanted to ask questions and make sure everything was set, but the man kept repeating the above statement, and after saying it 3 times, hung up on him. Feeling uneasy and a little pissed off, My husband called to let me know what happened and He let me know that he wasn't confident about the whole thing, so I then called them to confirm our appointment. When I called I let them know the situation and wanted to follow up and confirm our appointments, the man kept saying "1pm-ok, thank you" . None of my questions were answered because I hadn't given him our names or phone numbers, so how could you know who I am? Anyways, he started speaking Chinese in an angry tone and passed the phone on to someone else. The next gentleman said that we can't schedule appointments and to just walk in. Why would you say "couple at 1pm-thank you"?! If there wasn't anything scheduled? These guys are clearly don't care about customer service...and for me, that's a big deal breaker. I want to believe all the good things here on Yelp, and trust me I'm not snotty or snooty, but I'm big on customer service. Regardless of language barrier, please have someone who can understand and communicate well with customers. I've worked in customer service since I was 15...and I know customer service. Based off my phone call alone and the experience of my husband...they get 1 star. Wish I could give less. I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more
