I didn't even notice the place but this is where my GPS brought me. The barbers are welcoming. Everyone seemed friendly and the place is well lit. Each station was clean and organized and the music wasn't overbearing. Make sure your hair is cleaned coming in. Although mine was clean they insist on rewashing which is reassuring to me that the clippers are clean. I received my haircut from Brian. Soft spoken but professional. Haircut took longer than expected but it was done right. I was extremely pleased leaving the facility. His specialty is beards. He did an awesome job on mine. I visited Famous Cut two weeks ago and it was an ok experience. Upon arrival, the barbers gave me the usual stare I typically get when I walk into a shop. The owner greeted me and asked what I would like. The wait was around 20 mins, not too bad. Disclaimer: This is only the third time I visited a shop to cut my hair, so I am not 100% familiar with the language and types of cuts to ask for. I typically tell the barber to cut the sides and back low and I believe I get a bald fade on the sides and a taper in the back. I have a very small amount of hair cut (sides in front of my ears and about 2 inches on the back). The gentleman that cut my hair attempted to help me understand the cuts I receive but was not very sure, so I showed him a picture. He made an attempt to recreate the same type of haircut I received prior (on the picture). I would say he did an ok job. I paid $20 for what the barber says would typically be a $25 haircut. Overall, the experience and vibes were nice, but I would not go back. My hair was cut too low in the back and the side of my face was cut from the clippers used. I would like to give a heartfelt thanks to the barber that cut my son's hair free of charge yesterday. He's a young adult preparing to enter the work world and I stress the importance of appearance when applying and interviewing for jobs because as we know we're already entering with two strikes against us. I felt horrible that he was going to a job fair without his haircut, especially when I ride him so much about his appearance. I told him I couldn't get it cut for him until next week but he was there bringing a friend whose family is also having difficult times, when the barber extended him the offer. I bought my 2 sons in there to get their hair cut and I was so disappointed in the final result. My 16 yo hair looks the exact same as it did when he went in minus his widows peak. And they did the carnal sin of messing up his lining. His lining has a plug in it. Now my 3 yo is a mess getting his hair cut which is why I warn up front and tip really well. His hair looks horrible. As soon as my son made 1 sound this man gave up on his hair cut! He literally said "ummm alright I'm done." My son's hair is a patchy mess. I still paid them but that was the first and last time I will ever take them there. Came here a while ago. Worst cut I have ever had. I went in and my first warning to not get my hair cut was when one of their workers asked the person about to do my hair, "are you ok, do you think you can do it?" I guess they were in training. It worried me but I assumed my haircut was simple enough that they wouldn't have a problem. I was completely wrong. I had to tell them a couple times to fix spots because they were longer than other spots as well as other issues. Once I got home I got a better look at it and it was patchy and uneven. I ended up going to my friend downtown to have her fix it for me. Basically I paid $20 for the worst cut I have ever received. This place isn't that great... seemingly the only thing they're good at is washing your hair at the beginning of the cut. I've found that after being there a few times that a few of those barbers need to head back to barber school to learn how to cut various grades of hair and most importantly LISTEN to what the client wants and not how the barber wants to cut the clients hair. The whole idea of washing the hair is good to prevent infectious issues from one persons head to another but even after that they don't spray the clippers PRIOR to cutting your hair. Easy basic rule 1 barber mistake which defeats the whole purpose of the initial hair washing. The 25 bucks they charge and the look of hey what about my tip isn't worth going there. My tip would be as a shop, collectively learn how to service everyone effectively and become much better listeners to what the client wants, that way they don't have to go home and wait 2 weeks for the hair to grow back to fix the various barbers mistakes. I left there and never looked back and fortunately found a much better shop that knows how to earn their money. read more

Famous Cut is a wonderful barbershop where a single mother can take her son and sit in the establishment & not be concerned about inappropriate conversations or music. If a gentleman comes in and is loud & boisterous he is asked to lower his tone and choice of words or he will be asked to leave. I've been bringing my 14 yr old son to Allen( the owner) since 2004. The haircuts he has given my son became a blueprint for my sons classmates to emulate. 2006 Allen gave my son a modified Mohawk that was SO COLD, 3 months later 5 boys at school had variations on my sons Mohawk but by no means did it compare to the original! Bottom line is the barbers are very good! FYI as with any barbershop if u have a specific cut or style and u have a picture BRING IT! If the barber is unsure of what is is exactly that u want then it makes it more difficult for u to leave happy. IJS. Shout out to Ron, he always takes care of us when Allen is unavailable! read more
