    Corned Beef Hash
    Marie S.

Plenty of parking. Front register person was nice, we really liked the coffee and corn bread while waiting 45 minutes for our table. Service was very good she was pleasant and efficient. The food was ok I had the avocado Benedict- they served the eggs on an unpeeled avocado. Way too hard to eat. I had to get my hands under the eggs and try to scoop out the avocado. The flavor was good. The hash was a small amount and had no flavor. Bathroom was clean.

    Classic Benedict

So my husband and I have come here a couple times and we're always disappointed The service isn't attentive or super friendly. The food is eh. Like this time I got the classic Benedict. The potatoes were undercooked and my eggs were way more done than they were supposed to be. We usually tip pretty generously. But this will be our last time here. I chose not to tip as a reflection on everything Good luck to this business I don't mean that sarcastically.

    Daybreak Burrito
    Shanelle Y.

My friends and I came for brunch on a Sunday morning. We were seated right away and our waitress was very sweet. The food came out relatively fast. I ordered the daybreak burrito without cheese, but unfortunately it came out with cheese. Thankfully, I realized before I started eating it, and our waitress was apologetic and took the plate back to be corrected. Although the food came out pretty fast the first time around, the replacement burrito took a very long time to come out. When it finally did come out like 20 minuets later, my friends had already finished their meals despite trying to eat slow. With all the headache this could've easily ended up being a 1 or 2 star experience, but our waitress was very kind and discounted my meal to atone for the long wait. The kindness shown by our waitress is what made this a 4 star experience!

    Patio dining

Lately I've been learning to enjoy my own company in spaces where I would typically gather with others. I popped in prior to catching a matinee at CMX CinéBistro. It would be too early of a show to enjoy the dining at the theater, so I decided to grab breakfast on the patio at Famous. I was seated immediately on the patio while observing families enjoy a meal together. Service here was excellent. From the hostess to the waitresses and server. I enjoyed shrimp and grits with a grapefruit juice. The dish was very rich and there was plenty of andouille sausage and shrimp to enjoy in the flavorful grits. I would return again when in the area.

    Cornbread. Kind of bland.

The meal was ok, all servers were nice. Service was a little slow. I wish there were some specials (seasonal meals) like when we visited pre-pandemic. The $6 mini latte didn't taste good (took it home to add milk, hopefully to taste better). Not sure why they serve the cornbread, it's fairly bland.

Country Benedict delivery bag was filled with a spilled container, mess of gravy, and broken over easy eggs.

Ordered Country Benedict for breakfast. Order was delivered by GrubHub. Order was a disaster in the delivery bag. Eggs ordered over easy were scattered over inside of delivery bag along with all the biscuits and the gravy covered everything. . Grits were in a separated sealed container but came without butter on the side. No eating utensils or napkins were included. Called Manager of Famous Toastery. Manager actually said, "This is the way we serve it in a non sealed containers. The meal arrived as a soupy and sloppy mess inside the delivery bag. This is because the containers were not sealed or secured properly causing a spill of the entire meal. Unbelievable excuse from restaurants manager. Had to call GrubHub for a refund.

The most disgusting breakfast I've ever had. One slice of bread, 2 precooked sausage patties and two eggs ordered over easy, came out nearly raw. All this for $14.07. Are you freekin kidding me? BUT, the ice tea was good and it was only $4.00. What a rip off and terrible food to boot!

The Waitress & her friendly smile was the highlight of this visit. When I lived here, this was one of my favorite places to eat breakfast. My favorites were the fresh baked quiche or Cali-Benedict with fresh avacodo & tomato. The last time I stopped here, I was also surprised, but today I decided to give it another try. The homemade & delicious quiche is no longer on the menu. The avacodo on my Cali-Benedict was brown & the tomato had no taste. I asked to see the Manager, but after waiting a while, he never came out of the Kitchen. I can truly appreciate & understand the challenges of Covid. However, after my last three visits, I'm amazed at the Changes to this Previous Five Star venue. Good Food & Service are always appreciated & garner compliments & repeat customers. Something Got to Change Here to return it to a Win Win for Everyone. Mustang USMC Retired

Don't let the name fool you, this place is the furthest thing from a dive bar that I've ever seen…read more It's almost as if they were going for irony with the name...let's make a really upscale restaurant and call it a dive bar!! It would be like renaming the Angus Barn to something like the Beef Shed. I'll start with the two desserts...we couldn't decide between the three desserts they had so we settled on two. Both were freaking amazing. Almost ordered the third to go. The Chocolate tort with Nutella gluten free was creamy and deeply rich in flavor. The Espresso Panna cotta with strawberries was lighter and subtly sweet and perfect. I also couldn't decide between one entry so I got the Vietnamese pork chop and the smoked wings in plum bbq sauce...the pork chop was just okay but everything else that came with it was really good...those vegetables rocked! Now the plum wings...that's unusual and was definitely something that was downright flavorful...I would get them again for sure. My girlfriend is gluten-free and picked this place just for the GF chicken and she was blown away. I tried it and I was blown away. Usually GF food is not good, grainy, and lacking real depth...not this place. This was in all likelihood the best gluten free friend chicken I've ever had and it was half of a freaking chicken! Soooo many fries. We ended up taking half of it home and it made a complete second dinner the next day reheated in the air fryer. Definitely somewhere we will return very soon. The atmosphere is cozy and small and the perfect place for a date night. Also, their GF chicken is better than Beasley's GF chicken...just sayin!!

We were a party of six in a hurry to get to an event, and our server was fantastic--every drink and dish came out quickly and efficiently. I ordered the quesadilla, and I have to say it was the most beautiful quesadilla I've ever seen--and the flavor was out of this world. Everyone at the table loved their meals. Our only disappointment was the small ramekin of olives for $5, which felt a bit steep. We will all be back.

So I then asked if I could place the order and get all flats , she didn't understand what a flat was so I had to explain that, and she eventually told me she'll let the grill know. I get there to get my order and check my food and low and behold , it's drums in it. So then another server comes and I told her the situation and she said I could get a refund or they could remake the 3 flats that were drums . Then got the manager and ended up telling him just to make it fresh which I waited about ten mins for . I get home and I realize , THERES STILL DRUMS . And they gave me the old wings anyways and just 3 fresh flats which I didn't want my old food back there anyways because I figured that would happen but let's just say this: NO OVER THE PHONE ORDERS AND THEY CANT DO ALL FLATS . They need to better train the server. Update dec. 2,2023 So I came here a second time and this time dine in. Did NOT like the experience. They literally ran out of silverware and my steak got cold waiting for one so I didn't even want it anymore and on top of that, the chimichurri was DISGUSTING. They said there was nothing they can do about there being no silverware and they can't just "pull it out their ass" . Didn't even offer plastic .. Took forever for food and drinks. Never got my water. Or napkins. Ended up having to order nachos only cause it was the quickest thing to order without needing the silverware . A different waiter actually helped get those nachos and faster service to me. Don't believe I'll be going back at this point. First review before the update was a year prior to 2023 review. Haven't been back since .
