The restaurant is bigger than it looks from the outside and I loved the big windows along one side. There is outdoor seating as well. The prices are good but the service was great. Several staff members helped at various times which is nice. I got two eggs, bacon, potatoes and a biscuit. You can choose your meat and bread and if you want grits or potatoes . When it came time to pay, I stood at the register for over 5 minutes and then had to go get someone so I could pay. I'm big about giving places a second chance so we did because we really wanted to like this place. The service wasn't great to start. No one smiles and has a warm friendly greeting or looks like they want to be there. The first time we went it was dead but for some reason, we had two different people serving us. The second time we went it was a little busier but not by much and we had 3 different people serving us- not sure why and totally unnecessary. Each time after we finished, I had to get up and ask them to come to our table to cash out and for boxes after waiting at least 10 minutes after they'd given us our check. All of the servers that were serving us were standing around behind the bar talking which annoyed us even more. The food was just meh for how pricey it was. I had eggs Benedict and the eggs came out hard though I asked for soft and the hollandaise sauce was COLD along with the toast... not even like it'd been sitting out but cold like out of the fridge cold. Lately I've been learning to enjoy my own company in spaces where I would typically gather with others. I popped in prior to catching a matinee at CMX CinéBistro. It would be too early of a show to enjoy the dining at the theater, so I decided to grab breakfast on the patio at Famous. I was seated immediately on the patio while observing families enjoy a meal together. Service here was excellent. From the hostess to the waitresses and server. So let's start with I was so excited to be able to go to famous Toastery. I won a gift card and I was so excited because this was my first time at this particular restaurant. I went with a my friend and my girls just having a ladies out. We got there and expected a wait which was fine. The place seemed to be busy because of staffing like most places. We ordered our food and we were a bit taken back. The food did not look as it appeared but that's no where near as important as the taste of the food. I ordered a waffle and was a bit upset at how hard it was and how it may looked airy it was not and it did not taste as good as I hoped for. Unfortunately, you can't switch out eggs for something else like grits or potatoes. They do offer Turkey bacon and Turkey sausage. The orange juice is freshly squeezed AND delicious. They also offer a variety of coffees as well. I ordered the waffle and it didn't disappoint. It was so good with the powdered sugar and whipped cream. The red potatoes were seasoned and tasty. I tried the mimosa flight. It was so good. I selected peach, mango, passion fruit and wild berry. Definitely returning for those. Lol. I tried the french toast breakfast combo with bacon and scrambled eggs. I also added a side of breakfast potatoes and a mimosa flight. I enjoyed everything. My bacon was nice and crispy, but still had juicy. Every server is your server so you don't have to wait if you need anything. We experienced the best service we've received in quiet some time. Visiting the area for an appointment we needed to feed my 82 year old aunt. All she really wanted was her coffee , although she did enjoy her food. The service was great I found it completely satisfying that all staff work together on all tables. If that doesn't scream Teamwork then nothing will. We never needed to wait for anything. The food was good and served promptly with a smile. My wife and I decided to visit Famous Toastery since we were back in our old neighborhood of Cary. Bkfst for two with a tip at $50!! Yikes, no wonder the place was empty. Our expectations were not met! The coffee was weak and lukewarm. Refreshing the cup didn't help. The meal came quickly and was hot. The eggs and potatoes had zero seasoning and added cheese ($1.50) was hit or miss (missed my wife's eggs and made it to mine). My toast was cold and couldn't absorb any butter. In all, I think they could stand to improve a lot. I suggest a different coffee vendor or get a barista and a new coffee machine. Unfortunately, we've been here enough times to realize it's more of the same each time. Located in a busy center in Cary, NC. Not too excited about my experience. Was greeted and told to just pick a table anywhere. It was not busy at all and it took waiter at least 5+ minutes to ask for beverage desire. Staff take orders and place on handheld device and immediately place a receipt on table.
