I go for a shellac manicure and a pedicure every other week and have been doing so for almost 4 years. I can tell you that I am very picky and this salon is fantastic! It is not fancy (although they are called Fancy nails) but they do a fantastic job and frankly that is what I am concerned about. If you want a tranquil spa experience and you want to pay twice the price that is also great but given I am a regular I don't feel the need to go to a high end salon every two weeks. In addition to doing a great job they are also very kind and very respectful of their clients. I have seen them treating seniors so gently and wonderfully and the teenager as well. I have gone to Fancy Nails & Spa a number of times & always been very satisfied! Today I had a pedicure & manicure. The girl seemed very hurried & rough when doing my pedicure as she clipped the side of my toe & it bled. When doing my manicure she kept blaming me for moving my hands after doing the polish! I do not believe I did! By the time I came home, I totally removed all the nail polish! She put more polish on areas that she said I had damaged! I was a little hesitant but my sister recommended Fancy Nails so I gave it a try even though the reviews weren't great. Obviously the people that wrote those reviews got out of bed on the wrong side. The people who work here are caring, professional and experts in their field. The old saying treat others as you would like to be treated yourself goes a long way when getting a manicure or pedicure. Thag have the best prices for shellac, which they do really well but for my wedding I got normal nail polish (french tips) and the very next day 7 out of 10 nails were chipped.. was pretty awful they clearly use cheap nail polish because when I do my own nails they can usually last the week. Disappointed to say the least since I paid over $20 for it. read more

Excellent service, Great price, I go every other Sunday with my 86 yr old mother. She is treated with extra kindness and care. You need to make an appt and I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes. Along with the manicure, you get a quick massage afterwards. read more

I had a great pedicure at this place although my only issue was the woman was scrubbing my feet like she was angry... it was a little unnecessary to exfoliate the top of my feet so hard. But besides that they did a great job and I was satisfied. read more

Worst experience. My nails were getting long, so I popped in here to get them trimmed nicely, cleaned and sealed with clear polish. I left with sore bleeding fingers, uneven cut nails that weren't cut or filed properly and the skin around my nails massacred. My nails weren't even cleaned and the tech only put one coat of polish on. Manicures are supposed to be a relaxing experience. This was the exact opposite. It was more like an assembly line. No concern at all for the person sitting in front of them. The tech barely spoke English so when she cut me, I still don't know what burning blue liquid she put on the cuts. They still expected me to pay for this "service". The massage was hard and left me feeling irritated. Nothing pleasant about thos experience. Absolutely terrible. I will not return or recommend. If anything, I will discourage anyone who asks from going here. Here I am the next day and my fingers are still tender and sore. My once healthy cuticles are gone completely. On top of all of that, they did not give me a receipt when I paid cash. read more

I'm giving this nail salon three stars because the workers there speak in their own Asian language most if the time and I have no idea what they are saying. They might have even been making fun of me or complaining about my nails. I already have a low self esteem and I don't need it to go any lower thank you very much. I understand that they may have been working in an Asian community before but this is Cobourg so please speak English instead of jabbering a foreign language amongst your workers. read more

I am concerned about this salon's hygiene re cleaning of instruments. I have seen one person get cut and bleeding, with more concern for the clerk than the customer. I heard no apology for the client. I also sensed anger with one clerk, to the point of rudeness. They do not take well to suggestions regarding oversight, etc. No friendliness from most of them. In the end, you get what you pay for. Gave them 3 tries, no more. read more
