I had foot surgery and could not continue services for at least 6 weeks. I was amazed that, except for normal nail growout, my nails look like they were just done! I have never had that at any nail salon before. Luc is meticulous about his work. Everyone has asked where I go to have my nails done. Fancy Nails has a wall full of color to choose from. I normally get pedicures that are very relaxing. Luc also includes hand and foot massages as well. I have also observed other operators' techniques and they are beauriful too. The ambience is also very nice, with music continuously playing in a congenial meticulously clean atmosphere. I would also agree that the new management has really made a difference. New in town so I was nervous to come here based on the negative reviews but WHAT A GREAT PLACE great parking it's a plaza. I came on a Saturday and there were plenty of parkings. It is such a beautiful establishment. I was a walk in but they instantly serviced me. I had a little wait time but that was expected. Beware! if anything goes wrong with the service you won't get money back or even an apology at the very least. I have been going to this salon for 10+yrs and have been completely let down. The individual scraped my foot so hard that it left a wound that bled, then got infected two days later. To say the least I'm on antibiotics and haven't been able to walk without pain for a week. In the past, I have come here for pedicures and never had any issue. However, today I had a new girl doing mine and just got a basic French tip. She was rough, too quick and the French tips (which cost $5 more) were crooked and too thick and wide. I'm embarrassed of how my feet look and need another pedicure already. First off i got my nails done yesterday -powder gel. 40 bucks an they already cracked. First time trying this style n i dont care for it. Then the employees couldnt figure out their cc machine. They swiped it 3 times and i looked at it each time and it said accepted. I tried to give them a different card but they wouldnt take it! Made me go to the atm. Look i had shit to do I didnt have time to be running around. The best part was when i gave them cash and asked for a receipt. The woman said okay an stood there an looked at me. I was visiting family and needed to find a good nail salon in the area to get my nails done for a family wedding. My nail technician did an amazing job. I also got a great hand and foot massage that was included with the service. My nail technician took her time and was very friendly. Ignore previous reviews, this place is under new ownership and the new owner, Denny, his wife and staff really care about their customers and do a great job! I get dip nails mostly, pedicure, eyebrows.. always very pleased! The old owner retired and I highly recommend you go here! I promise you, I have high expectations and they always exceed. I had gotten a gel nail/pedi. The service itself was poorly done. I still have paint left on my nail from my last nail color and the nail tech cut my toenails without asking and they're crooked. My cuticles are hardly cut as well. And it was $85 all together which to me is extremely overpriced and not worth what i had received. Positive Staff were very welcoming, sweet and kind and that did make me want to go back to them. But i unfortunately will not. read more

My Family and I just moved to Hagerstown a few months ago. After a few months driving to Frederick, it just wasn't worth the drive so I started looking for my "new nail home". It may sound dramatic, BUT....getting my nails done is the only treat I do for myself. I tried a few places, no luck.... I bought a at home "dip powder starter kit" no luck...just made a mess so I just stopped getting them done. At Christmas I got a gift card to Fancy Nails, I read the reviews which stated Fancy Nails was under new owners so I made an appointment with Lesley who was highly recommended. OMG.... When I walked in the salon, it is BEAUTIFUL!! A super clean nail salon is a must for me and they were above and beyond clean! The second I walked through the door, I was greeted by Lesley and walked to her station. I know I've been rambling on and on so..... Fancy Nails is now my "My new nail home". Leslie is one of the sweetest people I've ever met! She asked and listened to how I like my nails done..... Which she did an AMAZING job (also did an amazing job with my eyebrows) It is clear, Leslie and her husband Danny genuinely care about their clients. So.... I give my whole experience.... Very poor customer service! They advertise $20 pedicures on Tuesday's, however when you go in they tell you that $20 is only for a polish change. I chipped my toe while there, the owner "Mary" was totally aggressive with me and stated she would charge me more to fix my nails. Just not a pampering experience and the work was subpar. Your bill will not reflect their posted specials and menu prices. My Mom and I recently stopped in for their Tuesday $20 pedicure special. They didn't give us options on what type of polish we wanted. They ushered us to pedicure chairs and gave us only gel options. We overheard another lady telling a customer gel is $10 additionally. We were okay with that so we picked a gel polish. I decided to get a manicure too. The lady asked me what I wanted so I pointed and said the spa pedicure and manicure (no gel) which is priced at $35. My mom didn't feel like they were rude, but I felt they were being too pushy. I know it's a nail salon, but when I have said no three times just give it up. I was sitting in the pedicure chair, and the lady asked me multiple times if I wanted my eyebrows waxed, and of course all of the pedicure additions too. When we paid they charged my mom $35 and tried to charge myself $50. I needed up only paying $45 because I explained that they told us the gel would only be $10 extra. They then spun a tale saying how you have to say all this specific stuff if you wanted the specials, but that is what we told them and pointed to on a menu. The salon itself isn't dirty, but we felt as though the tools were not being being cleaned sufficiently. I can't say this was a horrible experience, but overall the job they did was mediocre. For the price you can go to a much better salon. read more

I had made an appointment for 4:30 and was not sat in the chair until an hour or so later. I was angry they did not tell me there would be that long of a wait even though I made an appointment. I called to make sure that they had gel nails (not gel polish) that is used under a UV light, they told me yes they could do that and had it. When I finally sat down in the chair, I noticed there was only pink powder and not the gel nail kind that I had asked for. She told me "same thing" even though it is not the same thing at all. My nails looked decent, although the polish needs another coat..I had to ask her to fix multiple nails because she was not being aware of the fact they did not match up. On top of all of this, my nail broke two days later. I will NEVER be going back here ever again. read more

I have to say that the other review, while I understand the frustration, should remember that we are dealing with people who speak English as a second language. They do well to speak and communicate, but we should understand what is going on before we sit in the pedicure chair. Additionally, if you don't let the technician that the water isn't warm or cold enough for you, how are they to know. Each person prefers a different water temperature. If you know before you get there that they only take cash tips, which shouldn't be a problem, then go to the bank before hand. I will admit that seeing the sign that the CC machine was not working is a little bummer, but they were willing to work with that. They never take personal checks and the previous reviewer said they would take a check since their CC machine was down. That shows customer service which is s a great thing in this day and age. I have always dealt with Tony and I can't imagine going anywhere else. I plan on moving to Westminster within the next year and I plan on making day trips to get my nails done. He and the other ladies are great. I have never had a bad experience there. In fact, this is the only place that actually treats the customers with respect. The interior design could be nicer, but I would rather have great customer service over interior design any day of the week. They are clean and respectable. There are several improvements they have made, and if you talk to Tony, he is definitely aware that they are in need of some upgrading. Give it time and he will have everything up to date. read more

AWFUL. I have never been so irritated in my life and will never go back to this salon again. I went in for a pedicure and it surely was not worth $25. At the end of it, I was repeatedly told, not asked, that she was going to put a design on my big toe to make it look better. Not only is that more money wasted on a crappy job, but I don't like having designs on my nails. I like them plain and it was severely aggravating to have to repeat myself over and over when I told her NO. I was also debating between getting my nails taken off or to get them filled.. I decided to get them filled and that was a mistake as well. THEY LOOK HORRIBLE. I had to constantly tell the guy to fix this one or fix that one.. finally, I just gave up because I was running out of time to waste on such incompetent people who call this their profession. In response to the other user's post about the broken credit card machine...This is their MO...the same owner also owns the nail salon in Hagerstown walmart. They want the cash so it is not reported. Even worse this Fancy Nail is so dirty I find it hard to believe they aren't in violation of some sort of heath code. I went there one time and in addition to a so so pedicure I also recd a nice infection. After going to the doctor he said it was from dirty tools or them not cleaning out the jets in the pedi tub (which is full of everyone's foot skin). When I contacted the owner Mary with whom Id had many convos w/ at Walmart, she no longer spoke English! Go figure! read more
