The best part of my visit to Australia was the whale watching cruise. The boat was extremely nice with comfortable seating and clean windows (very important to have clean windows so you can take pics). Outdoor seating is also available. The cabin has a snack bar. Tea and coffee are complimentary. Bathrooms were also very clean. Once the boat begins moving the hostess offered everyone all natural ginger tablets for seasickness. I took even though I had the patch behind my ear. I highly recommend taking these tables. The water gets rough with large swells. Most did not take them and spent their cruise laying down inside. My particular experience was all joy. The marine biologist on board talked to us about whale behavior. We saw at least four different whales on the excursion. We even had a double breech. It was amazing!! All staff members were wonderful. I was easy to see that they lined their job. King's Wharf #9 can be a little tricky. Many whale cruises run from here. Be sure to get on the right boat. read more

We booked a hop on hop off day cruise on December 9 for a February 6 date on Fantasea. We received a reminder of the event a couple of days before. It took hours to research this company to make sure we hit all the places we wanted to see. On February 6, we reached Circular Quay (where they operate from) and their kiosk was closed up like a drum with a sign up that said they do not operation on Monday or Tuesday!! February 6 was a Monday. We didn't know what was happening since we paid ahead of time and received an email of a reminder and when we get there - nothing! Then we were told that they had operational problems- well which is it Closed Monday/Tuesday or Operational problems? We were very disappointed and had to waste time to research our best option for the day. Not reliable. I do have to say that we did get our money back via credit card that we booked on that very day, so they have that going for them. Hence the 2 stars and not 1 star. I would wait to book anything with them and get your tickets at the Quay the day you want to go to be sure that you are not disappointed. read more

We booked a cruise through Viator and showed up 15 minutes before our departure time to discover no boat and no personnel! Their office was closed and boarded. Turns out they were actually closed but didn't update their status. Took awhile to get ahold of phone support but once we did, they said come back tomorrow. Wow. read more

They are not friendly and exhibit no common sense! We booked a tour through Grey Lines to the Blue Mountains and the last excursion was a boat trip from OlympicVillage back to Darling Harbour. Grey Lines did not provide us the "boarding passes" needed to get on the cruise but they did provide us the "free drink" coupons for the cruise. They would not let us on the ferry even though we had the confirmation numbers and the free drink coupons. They said we had to pay them first and then ask Grey Lines for reimbursement. I told them we were from out of the country and would be leaving the next day and they had a recurring business relationship with Grey Lines. They said they would not get paid without the cards and needed to charge us or we could not board. They made us step to the side do they could board everyone else. My daughter was crying and they could care less. We ended up paying do we could get back to our hotel. Brock the manager was particularly rude as well as the "manager" who said if you don't pay you don't board! They exhibited zero common sense or compassion. They wanted to get their money and push the responsibility on the int'l tourist. They do this same cruise 7 days a week with Grey Lines. I think they were trying to double dip on the fees. Once on the cruise, I was able to get a hold of Grey Lines and they said that was not correct and they called and got everything squared away. There was zero apology and no remorse from the staff or manager. I would never recommend these guys for any excursions as they could care less about customer sat or guest experience!! read more

Me and a coworker just went on a Fantasea Cruise for whale watching yesterday and it was a great experience! I recently have lucked out seeing a few whales while just hiking along trails around Sydney, but it was a completely different expereince being able to see the whales up close and personal. This is a perfect excursion for all weather types since the boat is almost completely covered, though the top section does have open sides. This is also a very family friendly cruise. Would highly suggest booking with Fantasea Cruises while visiting Manly, or Sydney in general. They are also offering a special right now so get it while its hot!! read more
