Each and every time I have consumed breakfast food because I could! This place makes muesli delicious- even though some would argue that this is impossible however I consumed the most amazing muesli ever here. Poached eggs with beetroot and ricotta- they have that too and it sure is yummy! A few more flavours of tea wouldn't go astray however considering their already broad and varied menu, I think I'll let them off this once. As we have established, the food is brilliant but so is the location- ridiculously hip and a trendy place to be seen, some would argue that this place errs a little on the pretentious side of things and yes it does walk a fine line but it does so very well! The staff leave a little to be desired- as others have mentioned that could all probably do with a happy pill or two but hey, if they bring me my food and it's that tasty, I'm going to put up with their up-side-down smile for now! I'll be back again though- that's for sure!

We are in Adelaide at the Store on Melbourne Street to see a funny man! His name is Ben Darsow (known in the East as 'he who sells out awesome fringe shows'!). Who would've known we'd be in for an hour of hilarious quips and great stories?! Such a great show. The audio in the venue was well balanced, the decor is funky and it's well within walking distance of heaps of great eateries and watering holes. I feel a little sad that i only saw one show here, I've been told that during the fringe season they've been running between 2 and 4 shows most nights, quite successfully with various comedians in tow. The Store will be running shows (presumably comedy) again in 2016 and I for one will definitely be back! Now that I've seen the upstairs, I'm also looking forward to round 2, trying the downstairs food and service!

But once you get a seat at a deceivingly small "Big Table," you'll feel rewarded and even more ready for brunch. The Big Table has a pretty simple breakfast menu but there is definitely something on there to cater for everyone! From ricotta pancakes to Green Eggs & Ham or Strawberry French Toast it is hard to decide. Word of warning: Do not, I repeat, do not get their full serving of breakfast unless you are bloody hungry. Their half servings of everything are huge and so rich in flavours you don't need it doubled in size. You also want to allow enough space to have a berry smoothie and at least 3 coffees while you are there because they are scrumptious. Green Eggs and Ham on rye is one of my staple dining out brunch items and The Big Table serve some of the best. Fluffy, slightly gooey scrambled eggs with pesto and grilled smoked salty ham makes for a perfect brekkie and lunch. For a place that has a kitchen the size of my bathroom the service has always been friendly and quick. This is a great way to spend a Saturday morning amongst the buzz of the Central Markets.

You pop up to the counter to order, and I went with the special Bircher Muesli while my companion went for the corn fritters because she "gets the corn fritters every single time". When they came out, I totally understood why and I *immediately* had food jealousy. Sure, my Bircher looked totally delicious and was really upping the stakes when it comes to 'brunch art', but there was simply no beating the deliciousness and aroma coming off my friends corn fritters. Damn it! Ultimately The Big Table is a super fun brunch place, especially for the tourist and people-watcher within all of us, however it was just a little too hectic and fast-paced for my lazy Saturday morning.

Arguably however, these boys obviously take a lot of pride in serving up good coffees too (with bonsoy to add - tick!). They must have had experience with similar customers to me saying "I really want another but I'll be climbing the walls if I do - how can you help me?" because they certainly know how to make a mean (I can't believe it's not coffee) decaf. The layout of the cafe is simple, there aren't many chairs outside, but it's light enough inside to make you feel like you are in an open aired warehouse most days. What a great little local!

The bread was quite chewy as well I ordered the smashed avo on sourdough with a side of mushrooms. Again a small serving, the smashed avo was nice but the bread was a chore to get through.
