Mee ka thung w/beef and shrimp (upgrade charge $3), banh hoi, 1/2 lb of crispy roast pork, beef sticks, with drinks. Sprite and Vietnamese coffee. Mee ka thung: 0/5 do not recommend. It was bland. No taste. No charring of the noodles. The egg was overly cooked and we added that as an extra. The shrimp and the beef tasted off. It was fishy. Banh Hoi: 1/5 would recommend. Only good thing was the sweet fish sauce it came with. The pork belly was meh. Didn't have flavor. Tasted not fresh. Not crispy. Crispy pork belly: 0/5 do not recommend. The pork belly wasn't crispy. Tasted like they had it out for awhile and basically warmed it up when we ordered. The skin wasn't crispy. It was chewy. No flavor. No nothing. Did not taste fresh. Beef skewers: 0/5 do not recommend. Again, no flavor. No fatty pieces to counter the dryness of the meat. Nothing. The worst part. There were no pickled veggies. If they knew their skewers were dry, they should definitely have pickled veggies to off-balance the dryness. The only 2 good things that were good was the Vietnamese coffee and the fish sauce that came with the banh Hoi. Service was mediocre. Had to grab our own silverware from a near by table. Had to ask for plates. Had to ask for refills for our water. They didnt come around to check on us. We actually to wave them down. I got their chicken pad thai, and this place is good for the East Coast. I come from Nor Cal where we have the BEST Asian food (with NY and NJ included). I have tried East Coast and Midwest Asian food, and they are usually just a little different possibly bc it's harder to source fresh veggies and specific ingredients, but this restaurant was very solid. They managed the authentic flavor profile. It is more on the wet side which I am not as used to, but I still enjoyed my dinner. I definitely would come back again if I was craving Thai food. Despite a somewhat unassuming exterior, the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted by the inviting aroma of duck and other wonderful culinary delights. The person who assisted me behind the counter was exceptionally pleasant, attractive, and courteous, which was a delightful surprise for a first-time visitor. I ordered the Crab Rangoon and Drunken Noodles for takeout. The Crab Rangoon was spectacular--each piece was generously filled and incredibly flavorful, truly the best I've had in 15 years. The Drunken Noodles were also outstanding, easily the best I've had in 30 years. I ordered them with medium heat this time, but I'll definitely opt for a spicier level on my next visit. So they are still working out a few kinks. Now on the important matter of the food. If you're like me. Florida's Chinese food scene is very underwhelming. This is the best Chinese, Asian food I have had here. The menu is on the smaller side, but I still over ordered. I wanted to try the base foods and something else. I ordered two chicken egg rolls as my appetizer. I ordered pork fried rice and crispy pork with rice and veggies. They start you with a small bowl of broth with scallions and cilantro. Rather good. The egg rolls, these are not mass-produced bad egg rolls. They appear to make them on site. Well stuffed with a good meaty blend. The fried rice I went well here comes the typical bland fried rice. I was surprised it had excellent flavor, and they don't skimp on the pork. The crispy pork is the pork belly you see as you enter. It was very moist. The crispy was flavourful. The veggies were outstanding. I brought my better half home an egg roll and fried rice. She said it was the best fried rice she has had since moving here. The service was excellent, everyone nice and professional. It was my first time going but we were with others who have been many times and waitress welcomed them back nicely. Food was 100/10. I got drunken noodles, perfect chewiness and sauce. My husband got the last piece of duck for the day for his soup!! (We came late so make sure to go earlier in the day!) This place has the BEST Crispy Pork , that I've tried, in the U.S.! It's listed as Roast Pork Belly but it's the same styled Crispy Pork I get when I'm in Hong Kong. Just went to the Palm Coast for 10 days and ate FEF food 5 or 6 times, their Duck & soup is really good too. Did some house hunting while we were there and used FEF as a reference point of which houses were too far away and which were close enough (lol.... We ordered the milk tea and it was slightly too sweet for my personal liking, I wished they can elevate the aroma and depth of the tea and decrease the sweetness. But I understand that's the Thai style. (Update: they improvised the milk tea on my second visit! Yum!) Waited for around 20minutes, the pork belly combo came to the table, the plating looks amazing, it tasted just like what I love in HK, crispy, fresh, the right amount of fat in between melted in the mouth. First time trying this place. We had chicken katsu combo, fried pork combo and char siu pork combo, the roast duck soup and the Cambodian salad. Our overall fave was the Cambodian salad, it tastes like pad Thai but as a salad. Our second fave was the char siu pork and third fried pork. The soup was good as well. The chicken katsu was not good sadly, it fell apart and lagged in flavor. Overall good food, we had takeout so cant say much about the service other than the seemed really nice when we ordered there to go. We would def go there again for the char siu pork and the salad Im giving 4 stars because the chicken katsu wasnt good at all read more
