We were ridiculously excited to shop at Tiger when we arrived in Copenhagen, and it did not disappoint. (I think Tiger was seriously the highlight of our time in Copenhagen.) Tiger is kind of a cross between a dollar store and IKEA. It is amazing. Prices are cheap, and the items aren't just cute, but functional too, as they have a variety of housewares. Due to luggage weight and size restrictions I couldn't buy a lot, but I did buy a few random bits and pieces. One of the items my sister and I bought were those pink luggage tags with the red heart (I'm sure everyone who's been in a Tiger store knows what I'm talking about). While waiting for our luggage at the airport we saw several suitcases sporting that tag, and figured that it must be a common item at some store. Sadly they did not have what I needed, but they did have a weird cool mix of other items available including Danish chocolate, sesame seed bars and other snacks, iphone speakers and cases, jewelry, kids toys, gift wrap and bags, etc. Nothing was too pricey, in fact it was pretty reasonable for this city (I'll call it the "Denmark Dollar General"). The staff was helpful in answering my questions, even though they did not have what I needed, and most spoke English reasonably well, so it is tourist friendly.
