After the first class, they were both so excited that we decided to purchase classes for a year (6 months is the longest term they had for the 4 y.o.) We have been going for about 2 months now and we LOVE K-Tiger! Our kids have mostly worked with Mr. Andrew and Mr. Colby (sp?). They have the patience of angels and their methods are highly effective. They really make the classes kid-friendly. Our 8 y.o. is very anxious, emotionally heightened, and shy by nature and takes a while to get comfortable in new environments. Last year, she played basketball and she was so anxious that she was in tears during the first four practices. Since starting Taekwondo at K-Tiger, her confidence has grown noticably. She just started soccer and went out there like a different person. She was making friends, having fun, and unafraid to learn new things. Our 4 y.o. is the polar opposite and has so much energy. He's also very young so we know it will take him longer but he's already showing signs of developing discipline. He is working hard and paying attention more and more in class. I studied with Song Choe himself back in the early 70s. My grandson is now studying (a different…read moreacademy) and he was showing me his moves this morning. It really threw me back and I started searching for Song Choe. I was saddened to learn of his passing so early in life. He was a virtuous soul and strict instructor and not only taught the art, but also morals, honor, integrity and God. I'll never forget "toenail inspection" wherein we lined up and Song Choe would walk by and check your toenails. If they were too long, he'd mash your toe with a cane! He would yell "You cut you toenail! You cut somebody!" Well, after i saw the first toe smashed, I made sure mine were perfect LOL! Unfortunately, I had to stop going due to life but my brother continued to achieve his 1st dan. The point is, although I can't speak of the college as it is today, I know that Song Choe's legacy is still very much alive and well. I have deep respect for him and I know his successors do too and are passing on his teachings, not just the art, but leading a clean life as well.
