I have the oddest case of sciatica. Instead of bothering me when I stand, it only gives me grief…read morewhen I sit or lie down. So far, the symptoms have been eliminated for 4 hours at a time by ropinirole, but that is not a fix. My L5 vertebra has a small calcified area on it that sometimes slightly compresses my nerve root. I do not want surgery, so I stayed away from orthopedic surgeons. I searched for a neurologist with a holistic approach to nerve pain, and found Dr. Xaioyan Guo. She graduated from Peking University with her medical degree, then came to the United States to obtain further degrees and certifications in nerve conduction, psychology, and clinical work, as well as certifications from the appropriate boards, agencies, and peer reviews. Her patient satisfaction surveys on Google+ show a remarkable rating of 4.8 out of 5, with over 380 respondents. In my appointment with her, she listened attentively, asked pertinent questions, and expertly checked my muscle tone by groups, my reaction times, and reflex points body-wide. I am scheduled for an MRI next week, and she will lay out a non-surgical treatment plan after that. I have great confidence that God will heal me through this doctor's ministrations.

You have to move heaven and earth to get an appointment here. Be prepared to have a referral and from your primary doctor ONLY regardless of whether your insurance requires it or not. Without a referral you are "wasting your time and theirs". They don't work with any other speciality doctors and won't accept referrals from them either. The front office person is rude. My girlfriend was told by her gyno that she needed to see a neurologist for migraines. She called to make an appointment after getting Dr. Bikoff's name from a friend. After getting the run around about the referral, she contacted her gyno and they sent a referral. After a few days she called the office and was told they did not receive the referral. She contacted the gyno and they confirm that they received a confirmation that the referral had been received. She called the neurologist office back and they told her they did get it but they don't work with gynocologist. She told them that is who told her to go. She doesn't currently have a primary care physician as hers moved to a new location. She was told they would review the referral and let her know. We will be finding a different neurologist. If you have to jump through that many hoops just to get an appointment, I can only imagine what it's like when you actually get there. The front office employee definitely needs as attitude adjustment. No one wants to have to go to the doctor and treating them like dirt makes it that much worse. Edit: They called back and scheduled an appointment for the following day. They then called and rescheduled the day of the appointment.

Yikes with all these one star reviews…read more.. Growing up in Newnan, Piedmont Newnan Hospital was a great upgrade and amazing resource for the Newnan community! While every hospital has its opportunities, we are thankful for Piedmont Newnan. In the past few years we have made visits to Newnan Piedmont for a variety of reasons including for me personally, and for family members. Personally I have visited the ER and had no issues with the service, wait times or billing. Quite the opposite, as I was seen fairly quickly, had all the needed tests done, got answers within my initial visit and was able to get a great referral. Definitely better due to NPH. As for other visits, my Father has been in and out several times this year. A few ER visits, and a couple of extended visits. Weirdly enough as I write this review, I am sitting with him in a room as he gets better. Each of his visits have been met with caring staff, all the tests needed, specialists on hand, helpful nurses, friendly support staff and an overall pleasant experience during a not so pleasant time. The hospital is in good condition, remains very clean and is easy to navigate. Parking is plentiful and they even have a chauffeur cruising on a cart to take you from the lot to the door. Overall, glad to have Newnan Piedmont as a resource when needed.
