Top notch folks over at the Farm Bureau in Boone. My agent is Toby Oliver, though I have spoken with several others in the office on occasion. They are always just as pleasant as any company I have ever done business with. Toby handles all my insurance policies including auto and home owners and will be my go to as the need arises for other options. They rushed into a denial of my home owners policy claim with very little consultation and cooperation. With trust shattered, I moved my policy to a different company. WOW - more benefits for less money. I would highly recommend avoiding this office in Boone at all cost. If you have a policy with them, MOVE to another company immediately. ive had Farm Bureau insurance for almost all of my adult life. In most places they were a great company. when my wife and I came to Boone we signed up with them. At first it seemed fine. Then we started running into issues with our agent. Promises made and not met. Rarely following through. I threatened to quit and was promised he would do better. He didn't. In fact he tried to upsell me afterward. To add insult to injury we received a letter each month for a year saying we havebt paid and our policy would be canceled. we told our agent as we always paid on time and were assured it was a system thing and nothing could be done, ignore it. We did. we have since moved and changed insurance and are still receiving those. When we got new insurance we were initially denied home insurance due to opening too many claims in one period. We were surprised. It turns out our agent opened three claims, one I don't remember at all, two more when I just called asking for advice due to POSSIBLE damage. Without diacussion he opened those claims. Unacceptable and frankly inept. Find another company because these guys are a mess. read more

WARNING!! Get insured from another company! If you make 2 legitimate claims you will be dropped! I spoke to another insurance company about the details of my claims and they said I would NOT have been dropped. Farm Bureau cares about taking your money and not about helping you when you have a legitimate need outside of your control. Pay a little more and go with another insurance company or you may be sorry. read more

Be careful. They issue policy, take your money then wait a month or so to send to underwriting. Then they cancel you because you don't have more insurance with them. Why not send to underwriting first before taking money or tell you upfront they want more policies. read more
