I agree with others that the huge potatoes are a bit much, with the middle lacking flavor because of their size. Steak was very okay too, super thin. Breakfast sandwich felt sad. I love this place! I came here for breakfast for the first time today and what can i say, the food was great. I had the steak and eggs (i got egg whites but i couldnt tell if they were shell eggs or not), with a side of breakfast potatos. The steak was really good and juicy and was served with a steak knife and steak sauce. They serve pretty good portions at a great price ($13 for my plate). The staff was really friendly & the food came out in a decent anount of time & theres metered parking up front. Overall excellent experience! Ill definitely be coming back soon. read more

My husband and I ordered a breakfast sandwich (make your own) and buttermilk pancakes. My husband also ordered a coffee. Their coffees do not come with free refills. My husband said the coffee was excellent. The restaurant is HUGE and beautifully decorated. The food didn't take long to be ready and it is served to you at your table. The breakfast sandwich was delicious. We got turkey sausage, white cheddar and scrambled eggs on the sandwich. The pancakes were really good! They were fluffy and their maple syrup is great. The menu said it had pesto. My son ordered a French Farmer burger. With a bottled mineral water, the tab was $32. A lofty price for lunch at this area of Van Nuys, but I imagined it would be worth it. Our food arrived fairly quickly, but the first thing that I noticed was that the panini was oozing with cheese. That isn't a bad thing, except for the bread was only toasted on one side. The tomatoes with the bread and what was a pesto aioli, not a pesto, had turned the bread to mush. I don't eat mayo or aioli and I wouldn't have ordered it if it was stated on the menu. The server did check on us halfway thru our meal. She saw me picking at the sandwich and offered to replace it with another menu item. I was glad she made it right. I ordered a fantastic salad with a lovely balsamic vinaigrette. My son was content with his burger, but we were not impressed. Perhaps we will try again for brunch, the breakfast menu looked promising. read more

They've probably missed like 10 orders in the last month from me alone due to them not being open or not answering the phone. Either this place is consistently understaffed or logistics are lacking in the kitchen. Los Angeles restaurants can be notoriously slow - and Farm Table is indicative of the stereotype. We waited over 30 minutes and finally went to inquire about our meal, the lady went to the back and brought out our bag, which had the time of the order printed on it. The food was cold, so apparently it was just sitting in the back the whole time. The spicy chicken sandwich was really overcooked but manageable. The fries were a total loss due to sogginess from sitting so long. On a previous visit with only 8 customers in the place, it also took a considerable amount of time to receive the order. But since they changed the bacon it's just not worth coming here anymore as the other items are just mediocre. I was excited to visit Farm Table today as a new spot for brunch, but truthfully, all went sharply downhill after ordering and getting (Lamill) coffee from the pickup counter. Sure, it's Sunday and it's busy but not busy enough to warrant receiving food 40 minutes after ordering and THEN receive the food cold. A cold, sub par salmon Benedict with literally 4 small baby potatoes and 2 strangled, greasy asparagus spears and a breakfast burrito with no cheese, formerly frozen hashed brown potatoes, a measly smear of avocado, and a teaspoon of pico de gallo is not worth it. I appreciate the manager refunding the Benedict, and being accommodating on the receiving end of my hunger-addled complaints but the deeper I got into the breakfast burrito and hit the cold hash browns, I became more aggravated and regretful of my decision and left without finishing. It's a cute place and I'm sure has potential (it's one of few bright spots on a bail bonds-lined stretch of Van Nuys) but today was shockingly bad. read more

The restaurant is very relaxed, comfortable and great for a casual meal or something more "official". The space is large with a mixture of high bar-style seating or regular chairs and tables. We visited mid Saturday afternoon so it was quiet - we were able to order quickly and our food was served promptly too. I ordered a burger with fries which were really good - fresh ingredients, not greasy and good value for money too.
