This place is right off the 110 freeway and right past the train tracks on a corner. You can miss it if you have never been. But who can miss these giant controllers. Only down side is the location. Parking is kind of tough in this area I was lucky enough to find some close by. The installation is a cool sight to see if your into gaming or just for nostalgia sake. Not much to do but to soak it in and take pictures if you like. There is also a Rubik's cube and a Tetris replica which is all graffitied out. Ever in the neighborhood or want to take a drive check it out. It's one of those hidden gems in LA which is free. 1up!

It's easy to miss the monkeys since they're partially hidden by maple trees. You can't miss the large black elephantine figures though. A couple are on their side, the others upright. Too bad there's no sign explaining the name of the piece and the artist. I don't think the sculptures look like "cow splat" at all, as the then LAPD Commissioner described it when they were first installed in 2009. They look more like elephants to me in different repose. Go see it if you're in the area!

Some of the murals are a bit horrific, showing a woman seemingly poisoning her child with drugs and skeletal people chained by poverty. The murals are all vibrant, and most of the people who go through the tunnel tend to ignore the art. When Brandon D. and I walked through and started taking pictures, it was then that others stopped to look. A couple of men remarked that they never really paid attention to the art on the walls before. Since this is a tunnel, the murals can be hard to see, even during the day when bright light floods the passage. The paint that was used is somewhat shiny, so it further makes it difficult to see from certain angles. However, looking down the tunnel from the lake side before sunset is glorious as all the colors pop from that angle. Graffiti art has this stigma attached, and really it's a vivid and versatile form. Glad to see someone's putting it toward positive messages.

It was one of two reasons why my visits were so frequent around these parts, until it closed down a couple years ago and my visits turned into just passing through. Indian Alley has changed that, it piqued my interest. We live in interesting times. Social issues that I thought were only found in history books are repeating itself. Will we every learn? It's a compelling 300 feet walk. Pieces ranges from medium poster size to an entire wall. Content matter comments on the past, present and hopefully a better future. This isn't just a random alleyway turned canvas by a handful of artists. This alley has a lot Native American History. It stands both as a reminder and to raise awareness. I don't remember how I discovered this place online but i'm glad i did! There's a gate on the Winston side. It's an exit from the other side. It's possible that when These Days Gallery is open, the gate is also open but it's just a theory until my next visit. Most parking is metered with two or three free parking spots. My favorite piece is the War Paint piece. It's spray cans with a Native American Man on the label. It's to combat racism, oppression and colonization. It's also to open up the mind! It's colorful and striking! Tips: - Enter from Werdin Street, if you're planning to visit early. - There's free parking on Winston Street. - Be careful and try not to visit at night - Bring a camera and some friends, make it a day of exploring Downtown Los Angeles It's part of the LA's history, paying a visit won't be anything but beneficial!

It is such a perfect depiction of one of my favorite players. Easy to find on the side of the Miyako Hotel in the Little Tokyo neighborhood in Los Angeles. With a very…read morespecial but also specific theme in mind, we were unable to find any traditional wall decor in stores that really matched our vision. That's when we decided to commission a mural through a professional and quickly connected with Jeannine at Hattas Public Murals on Thumbtack. We received a lightning fast response, and were immediately impressed with her level of professionalism and accomplished portfolio. After a short on-site consult to take measurements and notes, Jeannine and her team got to work, sending mock-ups (and a few revisions) that brought our idea to life, but also within our budget. The mural features a scene inspired from the book series ("The Prydain Chronicles"), a monogram, our son's name, and a quote from the author. Our son, like the hero from the books is also adopted, so the concept behind the design was especially emotional. Jeannine listened to our story with so much compassion and understanding, we were absolutely confident the execution of the mural would be flawless. Our instincts were spot-on. Once the final mock-up was approved, Hattas Public Murals delivered and installed a spectacular work of art that still brings tears to my eyes. In fact, calling it art is quite the understatement; it is an awe-inspiring and  immersive experience. Everyone who has stepped into our baby boy's nursery has been absolutely blown away, and are amazed by the love and care that can be found in every brush stroke. This was important to me. Jeanine took the time to listen to what I was looking for and suggested a few things to help grow my idea. I loved that. She came over and was so kind and really took time to understand this was more than just a job; this was something my kid is going to grow up with. She took measurements, and even took color swatches of the carpet and furniture to make sure we matched the color palette! She quickly mocked something up and a few days later I had a photoshopped mockup for approval. Once we approved it we setup a date and I paid the deposit. Marcus was the artist that was assigned to this project. He was so kind and wonderful in my home. He let my wife and I peek and see progress, and would check in with me if he had any questions. He's a really talented artist and executed my vision faithfully. At the end of the day my wife cried (with joy), we have our incredible mural and I couldn't recommend this company enough. Really pleased with how it turned out and I will be calling them again for my next mural or art project.

Just follow GPS directions... it was easy! (Even though the website for this mural states that the address is 400 S. Alameda Street - Container Yard.) We parked on S. Alameda Street - across from this Kobe & Gianna Mural. On the left side of the mural, Kobe Bryant and his daughter are portrayed in black and white... and on the right side of the mural, Kobe is wearing the purple and gold colors of the LA Lakers' basketball team. Interesting! The talented artist is Royyal Dog. He has done many other murals! Note: Kobe and "Gigi" passed away with 7 friends in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California on 1-26-20...
