While it is tricky to find - it's a 5-10 minute drive from the main town of Lossburg and about 15 miles south of Freudenstadt - the drive through Sternick and the tiny roads of Unterbraendi was scenic and enjoyable. Don't be turned off by what looks like a tiny coffee shop- there's a second level with more seating if the outdoor seats and first level are full. Just place your order at the counter and take a table number. We got an oat milk cappuccino (1 shot of espresso and steamed milk), an oat milk flat white (2 shots espresso and steamed milk), a hot chocolate, and a shot of espresso. The espresso-based drinks were just what I was after. They were rich, bold, and creamy. The hot chocolate was more like warm than hot, but packed on the flavor. Overall, this is a spot I'd frequent for if I was in Strasbourg more often. For now, it'll be a fond memory of a perfect cup of coffee in a sea of underwhelming hotel coffee.
