I spotted this Sheetz in Petersburg out of the corner of my eye, had to circle back, and decided to give it a try. First impression: it's a cool place--basically a fancy convenience store on steroids. The truck parking was amazing. There's a completely separate area for semis, away from the four-wheelers, divided by a small wooded area. Honestly, the truck lot felt larger than what you see at a lot of traditional truck stops, which was a huge plus. Inside, there's a restaurant where you order from tablets. Unfortunately, the ordering system isn't very intuitive. I ended up placing the same order twice because after completing it, a message popped up telling me to make sure I paid--but it didn't give an option to pay. I finally flagged down an employee, who explained that you have to pay at the main counter where people check out store items. There was nothing that clearly explained that. There were at least eight orders ahead of me, and plenty of visibly annoyed people sitting in the dining area. Because of the kiosk confusion, I walked away with two raspberry lemonades and two orders of curly fries with Voodoo seasoning. My crispy chicken tacos were pretty disappointing--bland and forgettable, even with the taco sauce added. (I keep searching for that Trailer Park Taco experience that I get at Torchy's!) The curly fries were made by two different people, and it showed. One order was loaded with seasoning, while the other barely had any. The raspberry lemonade also had a strange, overly syrupy taste. Once bitten, twice shy. I'd come back for the convenience store side and the excellent truck parking, but I'll probably skip the made-to-order food next time.

Didn't get a chance to try their homemade donuts, but breakfast sandwiches and sausage gravy were all delicious. Potatoes and bacon perfectly cooked. Would love to stop in for lunch. They have a deli counter, and household needs as well. We stopped on our way home from lake Gaston and would love to make this a tradition. The young lady who made our sandwiches was very friendly and was also very quick. I'd guess both sandwiches were ordered and given to us in about 6-7 minutes. Great little store. Other items we picked up today were fresh dinner rolls, some Brunswick stew, a couple fresh spices and some Birch Beer soda. So a great little place and we will be back again. I purchased some of those Coleman's Peanuts peanuts and peanut brittle. Both were good. It's been years since I have had the brittle, but it brought back good memories. I could tell it was fresh!! Prices were reasonable too. I also purchased some flavored lemonade. Good stuff as it made the stop worthwhile. Now the bathroom....well here's two tips: bleach and ventilation will do wonders!!

It wasn't made as a quesadilla from the start because of how the fillings are. The Cuban panini is very good. The "burrito" was tasty but hard to eat because it was folded and cut like a quesadilla, but not pressed. Ended up having to eat it with a fork. Everyone was friendly and the store was clean, we're just baffled by this "burrito" oddity.
