My father's hobby motorhome required recovery and repair for its gearbox, and after receiving a quote of £950, Things went downhill from there. It took over a week for the recovery to be carried out, despite your promises of a quick turnaround. Once you had the vehicle , the quote skyrocketed to £5k+, which was a shock and far beyond what we had expected. We were then hounded hourly for an answer. We spoke to other reputable mechanics who said that the price quoted by your company was significantly higher than what was required for the work needed. We had to pay an additional £450 for recovery and labour to put things back together, and we arranged for a reputable mechanic who diagnosed the problem and quoted us £750 for the repair. We were met with delays, false promises. read more

Terrible awful company, they overcharge and do a bad job and are not open to anmy discussion about their terrible service. DO NOT GO THERE!!!! AVOID. Happy Campers is the most expensive garage I have ever used and the worst service I have ever received. DO NOT USE THEM. I had them fix leaks in my campervan and had to pay an exorbitant £2100 for that job. And they did a terrible job! Van was still leaking so I brought it back and then also had them fix some mechanical problems, because I needed my van back in working order asap: a broken alternator and the oil cooler. My van is old so I know parts are hard to come by. This is why it took forever for the parts to arrive and because I live in and work from my van, I was sleeping in the van after they finished work on my van. The manager told me on Monday: the parts have arrived but there is not enough time left today to fix it. So they would fix it the next day. The next day, however, I hear nothing. I phone them and they tell me they will phone me back. But they didn't. I phone again and speak to the manager who tells me that the parts have not arrived because they made a mistake, something about incorrectly booking the parts in the system. Because of this mistake, I have lost a day's work, because I was told the parts are here (not maybe and not on their way, I was told the parts HAD ARRIVED) and the van will be fixed so I had taken on some work for the next day because I thought I would have my van back. But because they misinformed me I ended up losing income because I had to cancel that work. I asked them if they would compensate me for my lost income and they said NO, no way. I need to pay their £2000 bill and I will lose an additional £1000 because of the canceled job. This company employs incompetent people, overcharge and do an awful job. NEVER go there. I will spread the word in the vanlife community. read more

Happy camper store/fastlane autocare (SAME BUSINESS - READ REVIEWS FOR BOTH) are charging through the roof for parts basic services. They consistently avoided answering questions about parts I would be receiving for electrics installation and when the parts eventually arrived and I checked the prices against the prices I could have paid directly from the manufacturer I realized Id been overcharged thousand's of pounds. They lied consistently about which parts I would be getting and then when confronted about it they just said I've been charged accurately for what I received. They charged me the following; £440 for a Renogy BT2 which costs £40 from renogy £1400 for a Renogy DC-DC charger which costs £300 from renogy £240 each for solar panels which costs £160 from renogy £180 for a battery box which was some cheap plywood boards stuck together £2400 for battery which costs £1200 from fogstar They do all business on the phone so there is no way to prove anything that they have said They also stated I could keep all of the warranties for all the parts but later said that the warranty is only available through them (which I'm not sure will even be true if i was to need it) Overall terrible experience. Its my own fault as I should have read reviews before going with them and not paid until I saw what was going to be installed. Hopefully you are reading this review and wont make the same mistake I did. read more

No Stars - Avoid Fastlane / Happy Camper at All Costs Dealing with Fastlane / Happy Camper has been the worst experience I've ever had in the motor business. Their website falsely claims they are NCC-approved (National Caravan Council), but upon checking, the NCC confirmed they have no connection with them. I brought in my 1972 T2 VW camper for welding and a partial respray in early June, expecting the work to take 2-3 weeks. They demanded 50% upfront to "secure the time slot." Weeks passed with little communication, and when I finally insisted on proof of progress, I discovered via photos that the van had been sitting untouched outside their premises for over two months! Throughout this period, we were consistently lied to. Every time we called for updates, we were told the work was underway and nearing completion--claims that were blatantly false. It became clear that the intention was to stall us with excuses, as no work had been done at all. After 3.5 months, they declared the job complete, but the results were horrifying. The paintwork was sloppy with an uneven finish, overspray on the bumpers and number plates, and even a red-sprayed radio aerial. Entire panels were left unsprayed, and a large rusty hole in the sliding door remained untouched. They had the audacity to demand full payment for this shoddy work. To make matters worse, the company trading under "Happy Camper" was dissolved over a year ago, according to Companies House. Despite this, they are still using that name for invoices and correspondence. Fastlane have also been issued with a final strike off notice. Upon driving the van home (after using a spare key as they withheld the original), the rear number plate fell off, and I discovered additional issues, including a failed leisure battery and a non functioning rear light cluster. Photos of my van were used on their social media without permission, and when I requested removal, I was immediately blocked. I've since had to take the van to a reputable spray shop, which revealed Fastlane had cut corners--no welding was done, just filler pushed into gaps, and the paint was applied over old paint instead of bare metal. I had to pay for the entire job to be redone properly. Avoid this company at all costs. Read all reviews carefully--many glowing ones seem suspiciously fake. read more

This was the worst experience I have had with a garage, they original told me verbally that the worst scenario if it needed a head gasket would be £1800 they then wanted £634 and they were confident this would fix the problem but had to pay up front before they would do the work. They then came back and said we did need the head gasket preplacing and quoted £2342. I had to constantly ring them as they never got back to me accept when they wanted me to pay up the money and agree that they could start the work. Once I started to query the costs of things and asked for the recording between me and a member of staff. they told me to collect my vehicle asap or they would start charging storage! I made an official complaint and then was told that they no longer wnt to deal with us read more

Absolute cowboys. I didn't want my car taken to this garage however as I was being recovered by AA I had to use an approved garage (what they are approved in is a mystery). I needed quick repairs due to being self employed and relying on my car heavily. Technician rang with the issue, a snapped auxiliary belt and oil leak and they said they could have the work completed by end of the week. That was the first lie!! They only looked at it on the Friday!!! Quote sent over initial £35.00 plus £275.41 just to look at car! Agreed as I was desperate! Came back on the Monday work required auxiliary belt 87.50 but the recommended timing belt replacement. Clarified with AA who confirmed only recommended due to mileage. As garage never answer the phone. I have a record of 87 unanswered calls! Agreed to work as car was approaching 62,000 miles £711.76. We are now two weeks in!!! Called as week 4 was approaching for update car will be ready following Tuesday at the latest very annoyed but finally reaching the finish line. Tuesday come I receive a call from AA work is complete car is ready to collect! It was 4.30 so called garage 18 times to see if they would wait for me to arrive no response so I left it till following day! Call at 8am from clueless advisor at garage to say they needed a little longer for more checks (these were apparently already completed according to a report)! Agreed but asked for an update asap! Gets a text at 11am car is ready to collect ! Great make my way there to collect! Advisor on desk who had absolutely no idea what he was talking about asks am I recovering the car! Why would I need to do that? Apparently all of a sudden it needs a new engine ( in 5 weeks absolutely no mention of any engine issues) this is the engine that the garage removed from car to carry out investigation apparently m, but there was no issue at that time. A rude obnoxious gentleman comes to waiting area, claiming managerial status, if true I advise a simple customer service course because his manner and attitude was appalling! He couldn't provide an explanation just continued to claim that's how it arrived, which is utter nonsense as car was driven onto recovery truck! Asked AA to investigate, (don not ever purchase smart care) for two weeks they told me garage was at fault , garage agreed to refund work done (or not) and i need to pick up car! AA decide as I have a refund I should be happy, oh I'm ecstatic that a crappy garage hasn't completed work but have destroyed my car! It won't be left there. If you value your car I would advise you avoid this place like the plague read more

Thieves. Avoid - Took £124.95 to book an appointment - the appointment did not happen. I have not received a refund. Repeatedly told they will call me back - this has not happened. Do not send them any money prior to them completing a service!! read more

PLEASE PLEASE don't trust this company. I would not give this garage one star. They promise to identify and rectify any issues - charge you hundreds - can't fix the problem due to their lack of knowledge/experience/expertise. We drove our car in with a slight 'clunk'. Our car has now been low lifted from this garage due to being unable to drive and a reliable garage is now dealing with the problem. Don't be ripped off. PLEASE do not waste your money. read more

These guys are a bunch of scallies. They claim to identify your auto electrical problem and the inference is that they will fix it. They don't. Some guy arrives, makes a few grunting noises and says, "the problem is here". Then he disappears saying, "I've identified it. I am not contracted to fix it" (His one hour with me was 15 mins. That cost £180. The problem was not identified. Subsequent phone calls I made were just fobbed off. Eventually I put it down to experience (or bad experience) Regards Phil 0780 176 0058 read more
