the lady (manager) at your Provincetown, MA store tried to scam me by not returning the good (a…read morebag) that I purchased, I had to fight for it, and educate her about your return policy. On the receipt it clearly states purchased item can be returned and exchanged within 30 days of purchase, it must be in as-new condition, unworn, and unwashed. I had hardly used it for an hour, it was too small for me. It was in all clean condition and when I went to them first time to request for an exchange she said they can't return it because i used/wore it and they had cut the tags from it. I said politely that's okay and left the store. After I walked back to my room I read the receipt which had the return policy on it. I went back to the store and asked her to read and follow the return policy. But she started gaslighting me. And psychologically attacked me in front of other customers. "She kept saying I 'wore' it pointing at 'unworn' word on the bill, and that they cut the tags." I had to educate her on the difference between worn and wore. I googled the definition of worn-off in front of her and insisted where does the return policy speak about the tag and wore? She kept saying you wore it, twisting wore with worn as if I was an uneducated individual. Sad part is that I was only going to exchange the item but returned it due her ignorant and shameful attitude towards a tourist from a different race and color. She must have thought of me to not be so well read and well-traveled. After fighting for it, she eventually returned and reimbursed me the money. Why did she it does it then if it wasn't the policy and I wore it and cut the tags? So clearly, she was manipulating and trying to scam me. Fraud! There clearly is a racist perspective to the incident. Humans are programmed to think about other humans who appear to be different than their race differently. It's just the science of human psychology and human brain signalling (neuroscience) and telling us to act differently. I regretted doing purchases from your store in Provincetown. In fact if the store was nearby where I live, I'd return other purchased items. Extremely traumatizing, shameful and ignorant experience I had.

I rarely review small retail businesses on Yelp as I know how greatly it may affect their…read morereputation. However, I had such an abysmal experience in Twigs that I felt that it needed to be shared. My besties (all brown girls) and I came in on a rainy Thursday while we were waiting for a table at the nearby Pickle Jar. When we entered this apparently darling shop, there was already a Caucasian customer who was attentively being served and catered to quite meticulously. We roamed around for a little while, discovering all the adorable knick knacks, artworks, and offerings. One of my girls decided to purchase a little plush animal for a friend's baby, and a unique vase. She came to the counter before the customer who was being helped had finished browsing, yet the attendant told her to wait until she had completed her transaction with the Caucasian customer. After ringing said customer up, and while checking out the items for my friend, she didn't make eye contact. She didn't thank her for her purchase, and she didn't tell us to come again. In fact, in retrospect, she didn't attend to us or greet us at all - fairly odd for a small business in a small space. When we left, we felt unwelcome and my friend regretted her purchase. Now every time she looks at that vase, she won't think of the creativity of the Cape Cod artist or how much fun we had on our trip, she'll think about how the attendant made her feel uncomfortable because of her skin color. The woman in the shop should feel ashamed of herself - and not operate a business that is unable to welcome anyone - in spite of their creed, color, or orientation.

I went in here just planning on browsing but walked out with a few items for my house and a few…read moregifts. I wasn't expected to find such a well thought out selection. Most of the items had a coastal theme and the pricing did tend towards higher, but that is to be expected on Main Street in Falmouth. In addition to items for the home, there is jewelry and a few bath items. It's definitely worth a look if you are in the area.
