Got my nose pierced a little over a month ago at Fat Kats. Received a corkscrew style nose ring (which I've now learned are not ideal for new piercings as they often cause irritation). I was handed a general instructions paper, told to wash with Softsoap and sent on my way. No mention of a follow up. Did some of my own research and found I should be cleaning with sterile saline wound care instead. A couple of weeks went by and I started to develop the dreaded irritation bump. Tried my best for 2 weeks to handle it at home to no avail. Made an appointment elsewhere to get it looked at and to possibly switch the jewelry. Come to find out, they confirmed A) Tanya should have never used the corkscrew style on me and B) that Tanya pierced me at a horrible angle which was causing much of the irritation! They suggested I take it out, let it heal, and they will re-pierce me once it's healed. This business also offers follow up appointments to see how it's doing after about 4-6 weeks (something Fat Kats never mentioned as an option...they also only take walk-ins). Very disappointed in what I received at Fat Kats for $45 and I will not be back nor do I recommend going there to anyone else. I hope this helps someone from avoiding what I went through. *Wrote this review on Google and was blamed by the owner for my "hypertrophic scar" and they defended the choice of jewelry. Extremely rude staff, they have people sitting up front behind the counter who "don't work there" but are still talking to customers and taking payments... I was told on the phone it was free to change out jewelry and the person there today decided to say it was $10 and made me sit and wait 20 minutes before informing me. Danny was the best! I was nervous about getting my nose pierced, and he was knowledgeable and helped ease my fears. The process was very quick! I was in and out in 15-20 minutes, if that. They pierced my friends nose for her, but the guy doing it was RUDE. We had questions regarding gage sizing. We walked in and we planned on snapping a photo for Instagram but apparently it's against their policy. Which is fine. There is a better way to communicate that policy instead of rudely insisting I put my phone down. He was rude when we started to ask questions, rude when we were getting her nose done. I remember seeing like three kids ripping apart the portfolio books in front while the mom did nothing and the staff calmly asking the mother to please have her children stop destroying property. People come in rude and drunk and try to act however they feel with no moral integrity and I've witnessed it several times the staff have more class in their pinky finger than most. My wife went into Fat Kats last night to enquire about having an older tattoo touched up. The young girl behind the counter seemed both annoyed and snarky at my wife's enquiry. After giving a curt answer as to how much it might cost, my wife said "Would you like to see it?" To which the young lady replied "Well..aaa..sure. Can you show it here?" My wife said "Yes, but it is low down on my ankle. Come here and let me show you." And my wife proceeded to walk to an opening in the counter so that the young lady didn't have to bend over the counter and strain in order to see her tattoo. At this, the young lady (already being highly annoyed at us trying to spend money at her establishment) threw her hands up in the air and let out a "What the F*CK!" plea of annoyance and followed after my wife. The other young lady behind the counter immediately looked at me, shrugged her shoulders and gave an uncomfortable smile of 'I'm sorry' and walked away. As we were leaving the establishment I thanked the young lady for her rude and profane comment and told her that we won't be back. I didn't wait for a reply as her actions that evening didn't warrant that kind of respect. I cannot say whether Fat Kats is a business you should patronize or not, but if this is their level of customer service, I would say not. And, yes, I get it; this is a 'Tattoo Parlor'... but still... common courtesy should be the norm, not the exception. read more

Very rude staff..I messaged regarding getting a tattoo after losing my best friends in a tragic car accident. I didn't call cause I have a friend who does tats in south Florida and was waiting on her to respond...so I just inboxed them. It wouldn't have bother me had they not open my message. But they did and chose not to respond at all. It took them weeks to even check it. So last night I seen they ignored me, so I called them out. They was petty and able to respond within in a few hrs of my message calling them "dicks" for ignoring me.. their esponse was rude, unprofessional and disrespectful to me and the memory of my sweet Bobbi anne. All they had to say the first time they seen my message was " sorry for your loss, plz call us" would have taken a few seconds to type a professional response. Instead they chose to ignore my original message but was able to respond within hours of my second message and was sarcastic and disrespectful to add insult to inury.. I've had mixed experiences here. First, I want to say the place is immaculately clean and the artists (except for Steve) are very pleasant and friendly. The first piece I had done here was done by Ronnie. He was pleasant, professional and nailed what I asked for. The second piece I had done was by Steve. Though professional, he was surly and anti-social and appeared as if he didn't want to be there. Not something I want to experience. I did stay with a friend while she got a larger piece done by Tim, who was amazing and super friendly. I would recommend him any day. Overall I would recommend this shop to anyone. read more

Things Tonya told me- " I'm not going to give you a refund just bc she's in pain." " I don't care if you had to go somewhere else to get it fixed." "I'm not going to let another place tell me how to do my job" "I've been piercing for 18 years" (On Fat Katz official website it says she has been piercing since 2008, that's 11 years) Customer service has been bad from day one. I came in to ask about a piercing and was immediately given attitude and was told the piercing I requested could not be done because "I don't have the right ears." I went to another shop and was able to get the piercing with no complications. My friend came to Fat Katz for a third lobe piercing. She was given the wrong size gauge for a fresh piercing, wrong backing on earring, and got an infection. I called Fat Katz to ask about a refund considering I had to get her a new piercing. Tanya (who pierced my friend) picked up the phone, and told me all the things I listed above along with other harsh comments. Would not recommend at all. I tried to defend myself was hung up on. Two weeks later I show up (emailed him the concept art the day I made the appointment) and he canceled on me and rescheduled an appointment to get the tattoo I hadn't seen. Again he reschedules. Then I show up only to realize he told me Sunday of next week when he meant Saturday. I called and left a message and no one called me back. I put 60 bucks down.
